Testing Feelings (Raven Skywalker)

OOC: Umm, I'm behind you now, Tec's beside you(though I don't know how he's holding that speed, I didn't see any power distributions from him, but I could be wrong), and the 'Crystal Shard' is out ahead of you, generally moving as fast as it can to try and stay ahead while directing the turrented Ion Cannons at your ship. Will respond later.

Finding that sitting in one spot is borring, and hazardous to the back of her head, Raven chose to get up from her perch on the bench.

Sight-seeing, no less. Well, maybe play a couple of games. It wouldn't hurt to try to keep her mind focused on something other than her confusion.

Her eye caught a game where the players were throughing darts to pop balloons, and prizes were dealt out.

She paused, observing a couple of techs, apparently on a date, or something, laughing hysterically as they both kept missing the targets pinned to the wall.

Raven's curious smile faded to a sad frown, and she sighed, shaking her head.

"Oh common honey, you can do much better than that!" the male one laughed, seeing his date miss yet another balloon.

"If only you'd stop tickling me, I would hit one!" the woman laughed.

Of course, neither of them were truly concentrating on the game.

"Excuse me, miss, would you like to try?" a droid, the keeper of the game, asked.

"Sure, why not?" Raven shrugged, a small smile now appearing on her lips.

The droid gave her a set of three darts, and then continued to explain the rules of the game.

"The green ones get you a small prize, the blue ones get you the medium ones, and the purple ones get you the large ones. You can exchange two small for a medium, and two medium for the large, if you choose to do so. You only get three darts a round."

Raven waited for a few moments, seeing the male tech earn a large prize, the stuffed animal almost making him disapear as he grabbed a hold of it. The pair then stumbled away, both laughing until they were swallowed by the crowd.

Strange toy.

"What are those animals called, anyways?" Raven asked.

"Ah, they are called bunny rabbits, miss." the droid answered.

Bunny rabbits? Darren wouldn't believe what kind of prize she was now going for.

If only he were here to it...

Smiling saddly, Raven picked out a dart from the three she was offered, and aimed at the wall of coloured balloons, and closed her eyes.

Hearing a loud pop, her eyes jerked open again, and the droid cheered in delight.

"My goodness, you weren't even looking and you hit a blue balloon. How ever did you manage that?" the droid asked, aparently suprised.

"I possess unique gifts, gifts which few actually have." Raven murmured, chuckling as the droid nearly tripped over it's own feet to offer her a pink rabbit, one of the medium-sized ones.

"You some kind of Jedi? I hear they can do odd things." the droid asked.

Raven nodded, hugging the rabbit to her.

The rabbit was cute, and cuddly - two qualities which made the toy irresistable.

She then paused, remembering the last time she had recieved a hug, and sighed.

The rabbit was no substitute for one particular individual, that much was for sure.

She knew it would take him awhile to take care of the sudden emergency, but wished he'd return soon.

Handing the droid the remaining darts, Raven then left the booth to explore the area. Let Daren find her, once he returned. Raven was not going to sit still waiting.

ooc: Forget my last post entirely. I don't wnat to bother to try and edit it

ic: Atalya glances out of the corner of her eye to see Tec's fighter pull alongside her own. She shakes her head as the two pilots race towards the vessel before them, one which seemed fully intent on engaging the suicidal lieutenant.

Ataya looks at her RADAR and sees that Kalen has looped around behind her vessel. She shrugs, doubting that he will be of any consequence, likely unable to catch her now unless he sacrifices his weapons or shields. The young rogue locks her view upon the ship from which Kalen had emereged and grips her controls tightly,

"Fire up the hyperdrive, R2. We're getting out of here. I don't think these novices are going to hesitate much longer, and even I can't outmaneuver three ships and a star destroyer for all too long. We're going to make this jump."

The R2 unit beeps in aknowedgement, powering up the hyperdrive and indicating to Atalya that it is ready to engage whenever she is ready.

"Now, I need to shake that ship for just a second..."

Back in the modified X-wing, Kalen felt like he'd been strapped to a rocket, pressed deeply into the chairs padding from the acceleration he'd use to close on Pelyan's X-wing. Beneath his flight gloves, his hands were white-knuckled on the stick as he finally cut the throttle back down to avoid an impact. Despite his natural distaste for this situation, a small smile crossed his face. Pelyan was good, the skills that had made her a Rogue were very apparant here. On the other hand, her flying here made her disdain for her opposition just as apparent.

Having closed the distance he'd lost with the speed burst a moment ago, Baathor changed his power settings for a third time now, sending some of the excess energy back into the shields, which were completely depleted at this point. Kalen hoped he wouldn't need them. This done, his comm beeped, and the Shard's commander spoke, "Sir, it looks like she's going to outdistance us soon and try to jump to hyperspace. Do we have permission to fire the Ion cannons?"

The former Rogue grimaced, he really didn't wish to fire on her, but he didn't want her to hurt herself, as the notation in her records showed she'd tried before. If only she hadn't jettisoned her comm system, he might have been able to talk her out of this. "Where the hell is Trevelan," he thought. He couldn't believe the Rogue Commander wasn't involved already. Back when he was with the squad the CO would have been in his place, trying desperately to save the pilot. He fired up the fighter's comm while trying to stay with Pelyan.

"War's Beauty, this is Kalen Baathor. Where is Commander Trevelan?" Frustration and a touch of outright anger was noticable in his voice. "I'm out here trying to save his pilot and he hasn't even answered my hail from before." The Star Destroyer's communication officer reported back that Trevelan had been unreachable at first, and was now trying to take control of the situation. He'd be alerted to Baathor's communication immediately. Kalen cursed under his breath and cut the transmission, switching back over to the 'Crystal Shard'.

"Affirmative Shard, clearance is given. Watch your shots though, I want our master gunners assigned to the cannons for this." Finally, with a sigh he resigned himself to his responsibilities here. Activating the targeting systems, the snubfighter positioned itself for the shots. In the distance, blue beams began streaming from the YV-666, only shots chosen well by master gunners. Those that weren't aimed for the Lieutenant's ship were meant to restrict her manuvering room, not that she was doing much of that.

Aquiring a lock, Kalen spoke to Pelyan even though he knew she wouldn't be able to hear him. "I'm sorry, I wish it didn't have to be this way." Slowly he squeezed the sticks trigger, and an astonishing amount of blue ion beams shot forth at the Rogue's fighter. Sparks shot as her shields absorbed the first few to connect without too much problem.

Gracing the hanger of the Star Destroyer, Daren had been led there by one of the Ensigns, and thus far had been described the horrific venture of what was going on between Atalya and the other pilots.

They led him to one of the terminals where he decided to try and contact her through comms.

"Atalya this is Daren, your commander, it's me. Do you rememer me?" he asked, but there was no answer...the comms were out. "Ok dammit this is going to end now"

He cast his gaze on the techs around him.

"Get my Y-Wing ready."

Tec watched as the X-wing beside him absorbed the ion cannon shot. "Screw that tracker, I gotta do something else." he muttered under his breath.

He slowly added a bit more speed to his yt from the sheilds, and then readied his hyperdrive. Sending a message to Atalya he said, Atalya, if you would like to know something, know this. Don't kill yourself because you think nobody cares for you, cause I do, and from what I just heard, you're gonna have Trevelan on your tail here in a minute, so please damnit, let me help you!

Atalya grimaces as the ion cannons begin to discharge in her direction, a few of the streaming lines of energy impacting on her aft shields. She shakes her head as her HUD shows her shielding beginning to falter.

"Okay, R2. Do everything you can to keep thsoe shields online. Compromise anything you need to other than the engines...and R2...take the auto-eject system offline."

The droid screeches in protest, but soon follows its orders, disabling the system and then beginning to sacrifice others to keep the shields at an optimum. Atalya, meanwhile, sets her sighs upon the large vessle of Kalan's before her, swerving to port and starboard to avoid a few ion blasts.

"If they won't let me leave the system then I'll end this right here. A few hundred more meters and I'll impact on their shields. Hopefully, none of them will get hurt."

Tec sighed and muttered his tenth and final oath of the day. "Alright, Atalya. You want to be hard to help, doncha? Well, too bad, cause you're gonna get it!"

Letting the auto-pilot take over, Tec silently went into a trance, and opened himself to the Force deeply. He concentrated, and searched, until he found what he wanted.

He had a lock on Atalya with the Force, and he reached out to where he felt the presence that had to be her, and put up six tremendously strong walls of the Force, yet very soft walls. After one minute he was sweating like he had just done an hour's worth of a workout in a planet close to the sun.

His head hurt, and his shirt clung to his body, and he ached, but he held that wall, and he held it strong. Soon he felt that Atalya's presence had stopped moving towards the bigger ships and he opened his eyes very slowly, still concentrating hard and what he saw was blurry, but there.

Atalya was still! Opening a channel, he said into the ships comm., "If she has stopped completely, do not fire at her. One question, does that ship have a self-destruct ability?"

ooc: I think all of this is possible. The Jedi I asked said it was, but that it was hard, and since Tec has never done this before, I have him plenty of pains for those of you who don't think I should have done that, but hey, nothing else was working well.....
