The elderly Ewok kept walking, using the woman's strange stick to help him along the difficult turrain.

What could he do? He was too old now to be considered any possible threat to the younger group, and if he took them on by himself, he'd be ripped to shreads, and tossed to the carrion eaters.

But, the woman's stick...he had to get it back to her somehow. But, what could he do?

The older Ewok simply shook his head, unable to come up with anything to help the woman who had given him nothing but kindness.

Resigned to accept his inability to do anything, the Ewok hung his head, not bother to keep an eye on the path ahead of him.

Though, it seemed luck was on the little fellow's side, running into something much larger than he was, forcing him to look up to the startling sight of yet another lighted stick hovering above him.

Oh my god! Another strange stick!

He couldn't believe his luck, exchanging a glance between the one he had, and the one this stranger held above his head, waving his arms about like a young cub in his own excitement.

The stranger seemed to have recognized the Ewoks' temporary possesion, asking about what he called his 'wife.'

Oh my god, this one's her mate!

The elderly Ewok shifted the strange stick in his hands for a moment, then held it upwards to the stranger, watching as he took it from him, feeling the strange matterial that covered it. Seemingly satisfied that the little fellow was not a threat, the light from the stranger's stick vannished in an instant, attaching both to a strap of some sort that hung across his waist.

Once again, the man asked where she was, and the Ewok was eager to answer, barely containing his excited relief as used hand gestures to explain what happened to her so far.

The man thankfully caught on quickly, pausing momentarily in thought, then asked which direction the clan had headed.

He couldn't believe his luck when the man handed him some of the same kind of treat that the woman had been unable to give him, rushing off after the elderly Ewok indicated the direction.

Good luck to you, sir. I hope you find her alright.

Raven finnally stirred in her sleep, her eyes flittering open, a groan instantly on her lips, for her own head was pounding.

Just what the hell happened? Did the little fellow lead me into a trap?

Much to her own surprise, a younger girl approached her, gazing at her with large, green eyes, her head tilting in puzzled curiousity.

The girl couldn't be ten, maybe twelve years old, of some unrecognizable feline race.

They hurt me if they knew.

Raven blinked, clearly hearing the whisper within her mind, giving the girl a nodd in understanding.

Who are you?

The felinoid gave out a sudden giggle in delight, unable to contain her joy in finding that the woman could understand her.

You... you understand?

"Yes." Raven whispered, the young feline moving quickly to cover her lips with what appeared to be a cross between hands and paws, hearing the girl shush her.

No noise! Please, no noise! They hurt us both if...

Raven nodded, suddenly seeing her freeze suddenly, then dart away.

Me be back, I promise. Pretend sleep till I come!

Not completely understanding what was going on, and no longer having a source of information, there was nothing Raven could do, other than do as suggested, and simply close her eyes.

Besides, the mental whispers, and the blow to her head tired her anyways, giving up thankfully to the bliss of sleep.

Some of the lower hanging shurbbery got in his way more than it had for the Ewoks and he was forced to cut it away with his saber. It didn't take him long to figure out that he was on the right path. All around him were tracks. Lots and lots of tracks that he had never seen before. But he knew who's they were and he ran to keep up with the tracks.

Raven, wherever you are I'm coming.

He ran with FOrce aided speed in the same direction he had been running. Soon enough he came upon an elaborate system of housing in the trees. Ducking down behind one of the trees and in some bushes he looked up. He could feel his wife up there somewhere. He just wasn't sure where.

Raven, tell me where you are.

He wasn't sur eif she had even heard him. He could feel her and he latched onto her signature himself and waited for her to give him some kind of sign. She had to know he was there and that he had come for her, but he didn't know where she was. And the little Ewoks were just too darn likeable to kill.

These Ewoks didn't even like her, and it came down to downright loathing at times when she snuck around.

The little feline wouldn't blame them. She might have fur just like they did, but she also had a tail, pointy ears, and her fur's color pattern was entirely unlike their own.

It was not her fault that it was yellow with orange splatches on it. She was born this way!

Running about on all fours, she ran, laughing in the pure delight of feeling the breeze running through her fur. She didnt' know what to make of the stranger who could understand her whispers. It wasn't fair that these Ewoks were refusing to let her go, threatening her with more pain that usual issued if she aided in the stranger's escape.

The thoughts on the stranger made her joyous feelings to suddenly die out. She didn't even know what they were going to do to her. The future for this stranger was what she was fearing for.

Stopping suddenly, she burst into tears as she caught a tiny spec of another whisper.

I don't know what to do! I really don't!

The little feline didn't even realize that anyone was close by, till she stumbled right into him in her attempt to stop.

She barreled into him sending him flying into a tree a few meters away. He stood and rubbed his back from the fact that it was killing him. Glaring at the.... whatever it was, in front of him, he wasn't sure what to do. Killing it seemed useless. He had heard its thoughts anyway. THat made it a sentient being of some race he had never before seen.

"What are you? Who are you?"

He watched her with a wariness similar to some Jedi he had met. For some reason he almost felt threatened. He quickly covered that up, however. Standing up straight and looking at her with bold, hate filled eyes, he gave her an evil smirk common to a lot of Sith he had seen before. He reached out and picked the cat-like thing up with the Force by the throat.

"Speak."

The feline was now hovering off the ground, feeling her own throat starting to callapse in on itself.

If she thought the Ewoks were mean, this stranger takes the cake!

The feline squirmed at first, growling and hissing, then realized that the more she struggled, the worse the constricting feeling on her throat got.

"Me Magaia....can you no see me kitty?" she squirmed, her paw-like hands trying to fend off the invisable grip upon her.

"MEOOOOW! Who Raven?" Magaia asked, instictively hissing out a name she heard through an earlier whisper.

He held her there.

"The woman the Ewoks are holding. Her name is Raven. She's my wife."

The Cat thing didn't seem to get that fact that he could kill her with a simple squeeze of his hand. As if to emphasize that fact, he gave a slight squeeze and felt her throat constrict and her voice falter. He just looked at her with anger-filled eyes but an otherwise empty face. No emotion was evident except for in his eyes and that was how he wanted it.

"Which one is she in?"
  • Posted On: Feb 3 2004 3:57am
Magaia squeeled for a moment, feeling her own throat tighten even further. The kind woman who understood her whispers was who this one was searching for.

Relaxing, she gave the angry man a nod.

"Let go, and me show. She know me by me whisper." she replied, tapping her temple with one of her tiny claw nails what exactly she meant about the whispers.

He let go of her, tossing her lightly to the ground. She landed upright as all cats did and looked at him a bit timidly. He tapped his head then pointed at her. Now lead me to her or I will kill you. He pointed up.

"Now."

As if to emphasize the fact that he was not joking, he took a few stepds towards her and let his lightsaber fall into the palm of his hand. If he wanted to he could kill her in a few swift and easy strokes. She wouldn't stand a chance.

Magaia nodded, gulping visably, her throat sore for the unexpected punnishment.

She quickly darted back towards the tree community, urging him to hurry, making her way up ladders and platforms.

Common, common! They hurt me if they saw me with you!

Stopping a few feet short of the woman's door, Magaia came to face a swarm of Ewoks, all crowding the platform. Seeing the glares from their huge black eyes, Magaia once again visably gulped.

Oh no. Are we too late? she asked, exchanging a glance at the stranger who had followed behind her, her tail twitching nervously.
