Ruusan: Journey to the Valley of the Jedi

"You are quite right," Arkan nodded to Kenshin, "Once my training with the Sith is done, I will come assess Ruusan." He looked back to the courtyard below, "Tranquility out of Tragedy. Kyle Katarn should have a monument dedicated to him in the Praxeum, considering that he took on seven Dark Jedi to save this place... the Hero of The Valley of the Jedi. But is this really the Valley of the Jedi? Or the Valley of the Sith? Both sides managed to die on Ruusan in mass numbers.

"Pray that the Sith do not find the Force Fountain, Kenshin. Pray that they do not find the soul of Sith Lord Kaan, the one man who initiated this tragedy. For the sake of this Praxeum and for the sake of this world."

There was a pause as Kenshin thought about the Force Fountain that was located somewhere on the planet.

"Tell me, how fast exactly are the Sith growing? A metaphor would be helpful..."

"A metaphor?"

Arkan thought about it for a few moments, but considering what the Sith were, it was not that difficult to find a comparison.

"They are like the creeping darkness of night, shrouding all facets of reality in its obscuring presence, allowing none to escape its influence, none to leave its shadows."

He grew worried now, understanding his own growing powers would affect the Jedi as each Jedi affected another. But he was tainted, something rather different than most Jedi in current existence. The Dark Jedi were just a misguided bunch who chose darkness over light. The Sith were completely alien to both ends of the Force spectrum, they were a power unto themselves.

"A number of people know where the Force Fountain is. You might stumble upon it, the others might stumble upon it. Jerec knew where it was, he felt it, it is the strongest point in the Force on this planet, hidden by the number of dead bodies encapsulating it. Vince would probably stumble upon its location through text. I will personally visit this Fountain myself... There is a person you should find if you wish it.

"Morgan Katarn. You are of blood with him along the line, so contacting him would be like contacting family over the HoloNet. Only, it is through the Force. He was last acknowledged to be here, a Guardian of the Jedi Burial Ground. That is just for you to know and find out.

"For now... farewell..."

And in a moment's time, Arkan faded into grey whisps into the subtle wind.

"Trials...right."

He planned to help Odon and assume his responsibilies, but right now he felt the need to mediate. He slid down the hill, walking into the forest. The light shone through the cracks in thr trees, and that reminded him of his home, on Naboo.

Ahhh....Naboo....what a great place to live...these jungles are very similar to those jungles...except these teethe with the force...

He sat under a large shady tree, the coolness allowing him to easily slip into his meditative trance. Within seconds he was in full meditation, his mind free, with the force flowing readily through his body...

It seemed Arkan answered his question before he even asked it. If he was to find the Force Fountain he supposed he should ask Vince to look up some information for him.

As for contacting the spirit of Morgan Katarn, that was an interesting method indeed. Though it could possibly be the most fruitful. However he would have to look up his family history to see where he stood in line; something Kenshin had never thought of doing.

In order for the connection to work he would have to be close in blood. He had never bothered with a pedigree since he always assumed that he was only related ever so slightly and that a name was just a name. After all, he had ended up being born on Endor.

Nodding his farewells to the fading image of Arkan, he watched as the picture disappeared with the breeze.

One Year Ago:

Ossus was a warzone. A deranged Sith that went by the name of Sedriss invaded the peaceful planet of Ossus. It was a fierce battle, and many souls were lost. One thought to be lost was the soul of Cal Omas.

The Jedi did not know that Cal had lived the battle. During the battle Cal led a fierce charge against the Sith. During the charge Cal was struck down by a Sith and was knocked out. The Sith forced the Jedi to retreat, leaving Cal's lifeless body to the Sith. Cal was taken prisoner by Sedriss and put through what seemed to be hell.

Cal was taken back to the homeplanet of the Sith and totured for two months. One day Cal decided it was time to get out of there. He sucessfully escaped the planet and got out of Sith reach.

Present Day:

Cal had been searched for eight long months and now he was finally reunited with the Jedi Praxeum and the Jedi he admired. Cal landed his fighter on the planet of Russan, knowing that the Jedi were there.

Cal smiled and hopped out of his fighter and ran to the Jedi. He smiled and told all of them about his long journy back to the Praxeum. Cal then seen Master Odon Baas. He had never been happier.

Omas rushed up to the Jedi Master and Dyani,"Master Baas, how have you been?" Cal said casually.

Odon tickled Nashira's nose, as she kissed and hugged her father tightly, while his free hand tussled the hair of Jorryn as he leaned against Odon's leg, desperately trying to get to his fathers lightsaber. The jedi on Ruusan knew of Dyani and his unique relationship, yet they remained aloof, ever respectful of their privacy as a family. For now, he was Odon Baas, father; later, he would be the calm and serene Jedi Master all knew.

You have done well my dear. The kids amaze me at their force connection and raw ability. Even old Atonai would have had to marvel at them. I wish he were still with us....I....

His thoughts were distracted by a familiar presence he had not felt since Ossus, before the capitulation.

CAL OMAS, my dear boy, it is indeed a pleasure to see you made it alive. I would like you to meet Dyani Spark and our children Jorryn and Nashira. .......Fogive me but I must leave; please visit with my family, while I go to our first Council meeting. I am glad you back old friend. Dyani, do inform Jedi Omas of the efforts here on Ruusan.

Patting the younger man on the shoulder he moved toward the massive spire of the temple of light.

**********************************************

One hour later.....

This is an historic and eventful day my fellow jedi, since today, as a council, we meet for the first time. I see some old faces and many new, yet together we are now the Council of Ruusan. This planet as you know witnessed a climatic battle between the Jedi and Sith. You all can sense the darkness and light still struggling for roots. We of the Jedi Praxeum shall cleanse this world of the darkness, rectifying the mistakes of the past and planting the seed for a new vision of the future.

Looking around the room, the council head continued.

I ask all of you to now share your thoughts and opinions, for all are valued by the members gathered here.

Hanix sits, watching and listening to Master Odon. He hears everything he had to say and completely agreed with him. Hanix sat and thought hard. He tried to analyze the errors that were made on Ossus. As he thought, an idea came to mind and Hanix spoke.

Hanix: Well, we need not change the ways we teach our padawans, seeing as how most of them survived. Yet, we do not want another attack to catch us by surprise. We should explore the moons in our orbit and put outposts on them. We will want the best radar we can get our hands on. Placing radar systems on our moons will lessen the likelihood of us getting caught off guard again. That is all I can think off for right now.

Hanix sat back and waited for any of his fellow Council Members to respond to his idea.

Cal watched Master Baas walk away. Cal felt complete again, now that he was back with the Jedi. He hadn't felt complete since the Sith took him captive.

Omas turned back around with a wide smile on his face.

Dyani Spark, it's been a while. I believe we met briefly back on Ossus. How do you do?

Cal stuck his hand out looking for a handshake.

"That's a very good idea," said Cronos, nodding his head in approval at Hanix's comment, "I think we should set aside more time for physical training."

Though supreme physical power could be achieved through focusing the force through the physical aspects of your body, younger, more inexperienced padawans wouldn't have the discipline needed to do so. He didn't expect for everyone to suddenly put on 100 lbs. of pure muscle, but he did expect for them to do some form of physical training that would help there fighting ability.

"And set aside more time for intense medition. That will always help."
