Ruusan: Journey to the Valley of the Jedi

Luis listened to Master Odon carefully, hearing the tale again brought it back and drove it into his heart further like a nail. He turned and looked at Vince, who was also helping the wounded. Luis finished healing the person he was kneeling and gave them a reassuring smile before rising to his feet wearily and walking slowly to Vince:

"Its good to see you got out alive, my friend"

He said with a fragmented smile.

It had been a difficult time since leaving Ossus. He was thankful that he was able to make it out from there alive, seeing that his training was not complete. Jeren had avoided the sith as best as he could, but it wasn't as easy for a few of his friends. He remembered one night, fleeing with that friend...when they encountered that final Sith Knight. It was a difficult battle for them both, one that ended in the death of Jeren's friend. Barely escaping from the battle himself, he tried to pull himself together. He lasted knowing his sister was still alive.

The Concordia had survived the trip to Ruusan and was now sitting docked planetside. Instead of use for mercenary missions as before, it was there to serve the now growing populace on Ruusan. Jeren had, in the meantime, devoted his time back to his training, settling back down into his learning of the force. Seeing his master nearby, he walked up to Cronos. "Greetings Master. Things seem to be progressing well here."

It is good to see you as well, Luis. Vince replied. It was difficult to maintain a friendly demeanor, but required of a Jedi. How many other of the Masters and Knights have you seen? Vince asked.

Hanix sees Vince and Luis. Luis and Hanix went way back. They had trained together under Master Ryuune. Hanix approached the two and looked at them.

Hanix spoke,"Luis, Vince, How are you two doing? I haven't seen you since the attack began."

Hanix awaits an answer from the two.

"Greetings Jeren. Soon all will be as it should. We will have our buildings, and vehicles, and droids. We will be as we were on Ossus. But we will be stronger, and we will be able to endure another attack such as the one that drove is from Ossus," he said to Jeren, his voice just as void of emotion as his face.

Part of him was sad, and mourned the loss of the jedi. Another part was happy that there were enough survivors to rebuild the jedi order. Another part, the dark part, wanted the sith to attack again, so that they could be destroyed, by his blade and his blade only. He considered that part dark because it craved destruction, even if it only wanted to destroy sith. But to some, destruction was destruction, no matter who got destroyed.

He turned to face Jeren, his face suddenly full of pride and happiness. His padawan made him happy, and filled him with pride. Cronos wasn't sure he would be able to handle the task of training a padawan, but his work impressed him, and Jeren impressed him, and that made him happy.

"Come and join me my padawan, atop the rolling hills of this beautiful planet. Let us meditate in the ways of the force. This location might make our meditation more pleasurable, being that it is the Valley of the Jedi."

Luis nodded at Vince:

"I'm not sure, I think most got out, its all still a bit blurry. I'm a bit worried though, I haven't seen hide nor hair of Master Ryuune, or my Padawan, Ariel."

He said, glancing around at the scenery, which, although more beautiful than he had ever seen, could not be appreciated just yet, not so soon after so much pain and suffering. He spotted Hanix, they too shared a Master:

"Good to see you Hanix, I'm coping OK, the adrenaline is keeping me on my feet, that battle was intense..."

He said, starting to trail off, he jerked himself back to reality:

"...I don't suppose you've seen Master Ryuune anywhere, I hope he's OK, I didn't see him at the Praxeum. And Ariel, she doesn't have a lightsaber yet, I told her to get straight to the transport"

He said, panic beginning to flash across his features.

Jeren? Alana thought, her head came up as she thought she sensed her brother. Then she saw him out of the corner of her eye. "Jeren!" she exclaimed as she pounced on his back. She hugged her brother, almost with the old spark back in her eye. She had had long enough to recover quite a bit from the experiences a year ago.

Then she noticed he had been talking to his Master and stepped back. "Please forgive me, Master. I didn't mean to interupt." And with that she slipped away again.

Hey, Hanix, good to see you made it. Vince replied.

Luis, I am afraid I saw Master Ryunne surrounded by the Sith. I don't think he made it. My sympathies, but remember that there is no death, there is the Force.

Did either of you see Atonai?
Vince asked.

Odon walked into the midst of the reunion. It had been a long year in finding this hidden world, yet somehow, each day, more of the praxeum students arrived. He knew in his heart that the beacon of light that each resonated attracted their former brothers and sisters.

Greetings jedi, the times are indeed sad but we must endure. I am almost certain that Master's Ryuune, Kamon and Atonai did not survive; I would feel their presence if they did. As far as Ariel, it is not certain, yet we can hope. I know the battle on Ossus was chaotic and disorienting but I am faithful in our future on Ruusan.

Vince, find a suitable structure here in the Valley of the Jedi and reorganize your Jedi Library. I am sure their are many relics you can incorporate.

Hanix, you will begin reorganizing the military structure, providing us with defenses, as welll as offensive capabilities.

Jeren, Alana, continue your training and maybe organize an exploration into the other areas of this planet, so we know what we are dealing with.

Luis, Cronos you are both brave and noble. As members of the Junior council, I need you to help the rest of the masters complete the trials of those who are ready.

Sensing three familiar minds he spoke again, this time as a father.

If you will all excuse me, Dyani and the twins are waiting. It has been too long since I have seen my family. May the force be with you all.

Walking across the courtyard, Odon saw the beautiful smile of Dyani Spark. She stood patiently, holding each twins hand, as their tiny eyes looked at their tall father. Without haste, he scooped the two up in a warm embrace, while leaing over and giving Dyani a gentle kiss.

It is good to see you my love. These two keep growing every day!

Luis bowed his head in grief, he repeated the line of the code to give himself strength:

"There is no death, There is the force"

He said sadly, remembering his Training and how proud Master Ryuune was when he became a Knight. He looked up at Vince, taking a moment to compose himself:

"I saw Master Atonai overwhelmed and as far as I know...he too perished that day. He was a good Friend, I will miss him."

He said, a combination of sympathy, sadness and fatigue heavy in his voice. He stood silent for a moment and suddenly his memory snapped into realization, his Trials, he was asked to see his own future. That was what he saw, the battle at the Praxeum, with Dark tendrils suffocating the Lights. He didn't understand the vision when he first had it, but now, all was clear.
