“Sir, report from the <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Artanis<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->!” Tulok’s Lieutenant spoke hurriedly into his ear.

“Well, patch it through, then! What are you waiting for?” Tulok was only slightly annoyed at his Lieutenant’s incompetence, but let him have a full glare, besides.

“Uhh, yessir,” the Lieutenant keyed in a few commands on his personal datapad, and a holo of the <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Artanis’<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> Captain, Reco, came to life in front of Tulok.

“What is it, Captain?” He asked airily, although the answer was evident.

“Sir, the enemy Victory Star Destroyer has been destroyed, we are moving to cover your aft now,” his posture was erect, and his manner simple, but Tulok knew not to dismiss the given aid, even if it was already at his command.

“Very well, Captain,” Tulok smiled. “You are temporary task force commander ,under me, of the <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Enmity<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> and <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Rhapsody<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->, as well as the Fire Cruisers at your location. We’ll be a little longer over here, so you can swing round and meet us at coordinates...” he checked his tactical display, but soon saw that the enemy ImpStar they had been attacking was dead in space. “Belay that order, Captain. Command revoked. Bring the <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Artanis<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> up to our aft and follow us in. Lieutenant,” Tulok turned to the side, turning off the holo connection as he did so.

“Sir,”

“Move the task force forward, but go slowly. I want to give the good Captain time to catch us up, first... Damage report?”

“Sir, <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Arbitrator<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> reports no damage sustained. Minimal fighter loss from the entire task force, hardly worth noticing. <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Enmity<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> reports some minor shield and hull damage, nothing serious. Similar reports from <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Terra Jasar<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> and <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Logan<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->. No other ships sustained damage.”

“Good,” Tulok could feel the ship moving under him, despite how subtle it was supposed to be. “Prepare to engage the New Republic flank.”

The vessels in Tulok's command fired...


It was an amazing move really, for in their effort to strike the Galactus, Gash's division cut around the pincer of the ships surrounding the Jenova.

The move exposed the NR second fleet's flank to Tulok and the rapidly approaching forces of Vice Admiral Vorsche (who had left a few back with the shipyards).

Both divisions fired, their beams of fire raking across the sides of exposed fleet.

The volley of fire was relentless and the formation that the NR supreme commander had envisioned began to collapse.

As Sentinel Fleet's fire tore through the rear of most 2,000 km ships, confusion reigned.


"Fire." Simon's command issued forth quietly as the Galactus and Victory both simultaneously struck at the base of the bridge command module. Their objective was to severe all transport tubes to the bridge, effectively trapping whatever officers that happened to be commanding.

"Tracking Transports.." an officer mentioned as TIE Devil squadrons passed over shooting anything that remotely looked like a weapon on the ESD's surface..

The assault shuttles broke formations, one travelling toward the bow, another going around to the rear of the bridge module, and several others, spaced at intervals along certain places atop the mighty vessel's superstructure.

As the shuttles secured themselves to the outside of the ship, troopers appropriately garbed went for the outside hatches directly under the shuttles.

The shuttle behind the bridge module stayed where it was...

The forward shuttle had entered the massive gun port of the Jenova's superlaser and started to move down the "barrel" as it were avoiding the damage done along the way until the "barrel" narrowed. A bit more applied thrust, a slightly angled turn and the shuttle was lodged...trapped.

Then the victory launched her shuttles.

<!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> The commander of the Jenova is doing a wonderful job at keeping his shields up<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->, thought Simon as they flared up around the Galactus and Victory but didn't penetrate.

"We have topside superstructure superiority.." a TIE Devil squadron leader said over the comm unit.

"Sir, Attack Sphere's report enemy squadrons being routed.."

Simon nodded.

<!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> The Sphere still had the higher level..<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->


The TAC display showed that the formations were crumbling under the onslaught of Tulok's and Vorsche's divisions..

"Not enough..." Kaine muttered..


And then, as if in answer to a prayer, the genius of Falynn Daine came through as his division attacked perpendicular to the mass of NR ships from underneath.

Falynn gave a feral grin as the underbellies of the NR Capital ships lay exposed to his waiting guns and he gave the word..

Every ship in his division tore through the NR fleet from underneath.

The copious oxygen leaks reduced the temperature on several levels of the Jenova. The Yslamari were killed on the detention and surrounding levels.

The General of Sentinel Fleet watched as the signal appeared and he nodded, giving the operation a go..


He opened a communication's channel with the Jenova's bridge and with the Galactus facing whomever down menacingly, he spoke..

"New Republic Commander... You are ordered to surrender your vessels.."

Silence.

“D-Did it happen,” a voice echoed, “did it happen?”

The baffled command crew stared dubiously above at the flickering ceiling lights tinting in a neon luminescence. A sharp, scratching rain of sparks rang as flies meeting lingering graves in a glass of Corellian Ale. The essence of a glazed, gelatinous seal was not far from the truth either. Hunched upon trembling knees beneath overhanging consoles, the majority of crewmembers waited patiently for a new word following the sharp collision. Unspoken questions careened across auxiliary lighting plates and oblong badges, drowning all signs of sanity. The patience came not of choice, yet of utter speechlessness.

The singular figure standing upright, Xylon, also gazed vacantly, but with attention spanning the broad spectrum of transparasteel. The semi-massive Massassi Home Ship, or what had remained, now plummeted to the tractable planet below. Unaware, innocent, and relatively ignorant towards what now came imminent above.

Almost mimicking a specter with not a cause to accomplish, he gently whispered, “No…”

Thousands, if not more, were squelched underneath a force they had not even contemplated nourishing. Maybe phased by Imperial propaganda, the lies spoken came not from them; the wars they raged came not from them. To mollify the death of some in the order of granting life to others…how it troubled him so. How it would trouble anyone so.

“It was the only way…only way,” his breath barely gasped.

Futures and lives assumed to once be – crumbled in minutes; seconds. When was it that trillions of lives bound to the present and future were condemned? If it was not his decision or final solution, whose was it? Questions: oh, the questions. Pounding, pushing, persisting. He so wished them to terminate soon…he would not have until later to wait.

“Reactor Lieutenant,” he broke abruptly, “revert power back to standard cells. Have we succeeded?”

“I-I don’t know,” came the swift reply, “damage reports have only began feeding a moment ago. So far, so good.”

“And the assumed Imperial assault brigade?” the answer buzzed. “Two birds with one stone, have we? Has that vulnerable belly of ours gotten through those thick, totalitarian heads yet?”

Gazing into a manila file impressed with dozens of similar defense schematics, a delicate grin settled on the Lieutenant’s profound dimples. This subtlety soon extended to an overt smile, growing wider the closer he approached. Finally, he set the file down. Wincing at it once more, he thundered, “Repellent Strategy Quasar managed to deflect the Home Ship kamikaze and all Imperial Assault Shuttles…although a single managed to escape into the cannon. We are presently being flanked at the breast, as estimated. Substantial boarding vessels, we anticipate, are tiny to nothing with their recent losses. Thus, we believe that they are intent on conventional fire.”

Inexperienced the Sith commander came, for a second thought to the velocity of an impended Home Ship was excruciatingly meager, preventing ability for a careening kamikaze pattern. Cutting gaps amongst dozens of Republic capital cruisers, the evident target came not anymore of a surprise. Fortunately, the Imperials had exercised their own garish soon after. Assuming all was well, their masses of raiding shuttles made a push. Looking back, the strategy required with the circumstances was minimal –



“Sir,” an ensign sounded, “the impaired Massassi Home Ship appears to be gaining on our realignment designation. The Imperials are firing with relent for their own well being, yet the estimated coordinates of this Home Ship brings it…to well, us. A collision course with the Jenova, I think. Two Massassi Carriers had drained our shields a moment ago, so we’ll be unguarded to this.”

“Condition of the arrays, themselves?,” he came, disdain pinching at the vocal cords. Pausing with a twitch within his busy fingers, “The hull is steadfast; little will puncture it. Nevertheless, we never know what to expect…meaning we shouldn’t let it reach that far, hm?”

Inferring his cryptic phrase, the young officer sighed before replying, “The arrays are fully functional…however without the power -”

Slicing apart the commandant’s sentence with a sharp tongue, Ranthra continued, “Reactor core…dedicate all power to the shield arrays on my mark. Put life support on auxiliary generators at minimal reserve.”

“Prepared. On your mark.”

“Activate!”



Bluntly described, that was the end of it. The shield burst in mere seconds vanquished Assault Transports/Shuttles and TIE Devils having trailed the enormous Home Ship, let alone the monstrous entity, itself. Taking the brazen shuttle having entered the cannon barrel as an exception, all significant numbers had been diminished. The harmony of jubilant crewmen came just as untainted as the ESD’s hull matrix.

“Navigation,” the Commander yelped, “we’ve discussed this. Anti-gravitational repulsors disengage now! Begin the downwards drifting process…make sure nothing slips through the cracks.”

Awed at the two massive objects glooming before him, one officer interpolated, “What about the Massassi Cruisers!? They are puffing away like innocents on a crime scene. And with shields inactive!”

“Calm down,” he remarked twisting to address, “primary fire has already disabled sub-light engines. They’re not puffing, but drifting downwards…towards the planet by gravity.

“And into the swiftly-forming defense basin? We’d decimate a few of our own ships!”

“Observe…commence phase beta, Captain!”

With that, a series of turbolaser batteries, supported by several surrounding craft, whizzed silver daggers ominously through the quiet of space prior to their splash into a central point upon both Carriers. The central hull, it seemed. Nevertheless, as quickly as the bullets of light had begun their trek, a cavernous bowl of ash and torn durasteel formed in each receding Carrier. Their gravitational pull in combination to the fire momentum of a few hundred turbolasers rapidly lead the staggering pair of warships towards the Imperial forces, engulfing the space below. Within minutes, the couple emerged overhead, and apart from Republic proximity.

“Fire in the hole!”

[i]Fire and cinders enveloped the intervening Imperial taskforce, annihilating each vulnerable craft of petite stature and heavily damaging the shields of all others. In its wake, fire still budged loudly. Carried by the brisk waves of flame upwards, there rode a pair of A-Wings stumbling in their return.

Once the smoke had cleared and dissipated, a weave of Republic craft encroached the Jenova in a basin of knarred steel and enmity. The extreme gravity of one massive Dantooine dispelled meager seconds once repulors had been lifted. Within the cup reigned the oppressive Jenova and a scene of clear, dauntless black. Devils stung no more as the swift conglomerate of A-Wings overcame the heathens and dealt with each.

“Super-laser repaired, eh? Let’s get it pumpin’!”

Relentless, the battle continued. The plane of combat, paralell to the orbital plane of Dantooine around it's distant sun, was now a mess of floating debris, exploding rubble, and bright lances of green, blue and red, swirling into a chaotic work of art. A work of art Gash Jiren failed to see the beauty of, either through his own remaining pacifism or his lack of time to watch the violent conflict.

The fiery blasts of energy emitted rapidly from the Reign-Class Star Destroyer Galactus turned toward the Black Voltage, and Gash instinctively flinched as they did. A blast ricocheted off the weakened bridge shields, rattling the resolve of every man on board. An alarm signalled, as the Reign's shields fell. Orders and acknowledgements flew across the bridge hap-hazardly. Shots were beginning to accidentally strike their ESD prior to its defense recede.

Chaos was errupting. The Eclipse had fought back against her aggressors, pushing them towards Dantooine. After a spectacle of explosions, the Eclipse lain heavily guarded, but the Imperial nuisance remained, even if not in ESD attack range.

"Haul us around, perpendicular to the Reign! Angle the deflector shields, and continue to bombard! Tighten those shots up!"

The ship did so, whining under the pressure and moving to place the more fresh shields of the left portion of the ship towards the Reign. Red turbolaser fire continued to pour into the shieldless Reign, opening great holes in the ship, tearing the durasteel hull with explosions of increasing magnitude. A turbolaser blast leapt into the neck connecting the bridge to the main hull, and a terrible blast errupted from it. Fire expulsed from both the front of the blast and the back, tearing a massive chunk out of the neck. Damage, superheated, and under constant pressure, the bridge tilted, hanging onto her vessel by half a neck.

More turbolaser blasts leapt out from the eight mammoth ships assaulting the Galactus, striking vital points and turbolaser batteries. The return fire against the New Republic vessels slowed...

"Tell all forces to focus fire on co-ordinates L23D, Captain."

'Yes, sir.'

The stinging darts of tightly-packed laser energy blazed toward a central point on the Reign Star Destroyer, the intense heat and release of energy caused by the multiple turbolaser impacts caused the explosion at that point to grow, every blast added making it grow, akin to a snowball rolling down a hill.

Then the explosion began to shrink. Shots poured in, but no new fire came- one last blast signaled the end of the firey torrent. Curiously, Gash glared as the fire cleared...

To see a hole torn straight through the core of the base of the enormous vessel. It began to drift in space, it's reactor destroyed. Dead in space.

The message of the grizzly New Order official was forwarded to the bridge of the Black Voltage automatically.

'New Republic Commander... You are ordered to surrender your vessels..'

As if in some sort of morbid response, the superlaser of the Eclipse Star Destroyer - slipping from above the rigid basin - leapt out of the vessel. For a reason unbeknownced to Gash, a vessel preceeded it out of the cannon, floating on it like a sinking boat on a Mon Calamari sea before detonating. The superlaser sped towards the lurking Attack Sphere, the terrible green speare of flaming death striking the ball. The shields errupted in a blue glow as they attempted to repel the charge, but to no avail whatsoever. The shields funneled inwards like a pool with the plug pulled from it. The blue glow of the energy shield continued to swell inward, slowly... slowly... until it bended into the durasteel surface of the Attack Sphere, and the superlaser still did not relent. The superlaser cut into the ship's surface, explosions errupting and released oxygen freezing as it flowed to the surface.

The magnificently deadly weapon fought it's way right through every level of the ship, until it struck the core. The central point exploded, huge needles of white light suddenly blasting out of the surface of ship at all angles. More and more formed, until they were followed by fire and shrapnel. Fissures struck across the ship like lightning bolts, all of which spilling fire like lava from a true fissure on a world.

One final explosion originating in the core of the vessel struck the last blow, the superlaser ceasing. Three shards of the shattered vessel floated listlessly in space, spilling more gas and debris. The voice of Xylon Hexyra came through the comm, crackling with static initially, but becoming clearer.

'Direct hit... Attack Sphere destroyed. All the remaining TIE Devils are dropping like flies.'

"Droid ships. We knocked out their base... they've all been deactivated."

'Exactly. We lost some ysalamari, but we've brought an auxillery supply out of carbon freeze. They should hold us. The superlaser is recharging... the power cells should be ready for another shot soon enough.'

"Good, good. They're a little over-optimistic in issuing orders of surrender, aren't they?"

Gash smiled.

"Open a channel to the bridge of the Galactus. They should have just enough energy left for sensory equipment.

"The order is likewise returned, New Order commander... surrender your vessels, or we will be forced to destroy the Galactus."

"ETA........20 seconds"

"Good.All hands,prepare to exit hyperspace.,Superlaser control,prepare to fire the superlaser at my command."

Logan recieved a chorus of "Yes Sir"s.He stood up and went to the frontmost bridge window.

"Exiting hyperspce.....3...2...1!"

The Archammer exited hyperspce on the far side of Dantooine,just out of range of the Abolisher-class cruisers.

Logan waited another minute and then in a grand entrance the New Alliance 1st and 3rd fleets exited hyperspace,also on the far side of the planet.Also just out of range of the enemy Abolisher-class cruisers.

"Now!"

The New Alliance fleet,going in single file used the planet's gravity as an advantage.Using the gravity-pull the Alliance ships,one by one used the 'slingshot' move to fling themselves around the planet and into the battle.It took a few minutes byt eventually they all made it,even the ESD.

"Logan to all ships,full speed to the battle between the New Republic and The New Order.Once you are within range...fire"

Logan turned and looked at the battle.They wouldn't have the element of surprise becasue they had to exit hyperspace so far away.But it was his duty to help the New Republic and that is what he was going to do.Minutes later the fleet entered range and Logan was faced wih a problem.Instead of hitting the New Republic from the rear as expected a certain number of ships were now <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> beneath<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> the New Republic defense basin.

"Have 6 Star Destroyers spread out and flank us.I want the Dreadnaughts to aslo at our flank and slightly below us.Have the Star Destroyers and the Dreadnaughts open fire at Kaine's forces."

Logan went over to the comm and issued orders to Superlaser Control at the front of the ship,near the superlaser itself.

"Target the <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Pandemonium<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->.I want it disabled now."

Now he tuned to the Sr. Weapons officer.

"Concentrate Ion cannons on the <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Valiant<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> and the <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Radiance<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->.Also concentrate Turbolaser fire on the <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Constainer<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> Interdiction Pickets"

The Weapons smiled faintly and complied.

Now turbolasers were slaming into the Interdiction Pickets,the small ships were no match for the huge ESD's turbolasers.Likewise the Ion Cannons which were being concentrated on the TNO <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Penetrator<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> Cruisers.

Then,as if in revenge,the superlaser fired.The aim was off thanks to some previous battle damage and a faulty tareting computer so it didn't destroy the <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Pandemonium<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->.Even though it didn't destroy it it did severely damage it.The superlaser shot hit near the aft of the ASSD,destroying it's hyperdrive and sublight systems and it's weapons were no longer shooting.

Admiral Wyldan, supposed to be dead at the ferocious Battle of Mylock IV had recently been revived through the secret cloning capabilities of Hoth IV. He was commanding the newest <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Executor<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->-Class Super Star Destroyer, <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Elrond's Majesty<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->. However, it <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> was<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> downsized so now sevent thousand five hundred kilometers instead of the full eight thousand. The huge figure spearheaded its way out of the blurring hyperspace tunnel, past the anamolies of countering interdiction. The abolishers and the interdictors and constrainer pickets had mixed each other up and totally cancelled each other out, allowing all forces to fight their way into the Imperial space.

He was commanding a massive war fleet to eliminate what little forces the Empire could muster up to combat all three forces hitting them at once. He had turbo lasers charged and ready, he had all assets prepared for battle as he had at the Battle of Mylock IV.

Hexyra had given him a complete data read out of the battle, and apparently the Republic was being pushed into a bowl around the <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Eclipse<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->-Class Star Destroyer <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Jenova<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->. When he finally came to bare on the actual conflict, it was even more hellish than datatapes had reported. It was awful, an unfathomable sight. The atmosphere of Dantooine was being torn to shreds, or at least, some of it, the gravitational pulls of the ships and interdictors totally belaying and slaying the people down on the planet.

Assault transports were launched from the massive hangar and surprisingly enough abandoned the main war fleet, heading instead toward the planet itself. Fearsons had given a priority order to rescuing as many Dantari as possible, who must have seen this as a War of the Titans.

The fleet was abominable, several warships fighting their way in simply to defeat the Empire and route them from Dantooine to save the agricultural heritage and out of moral respect.

The <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Elrond's Majesty<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> was the head of the fleet who was in a parallel wedge, one group on top another on bottom, <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Redemption<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->-Class Battlecruisers taking up as much of the frontline space as possible to begin a massive entourage of new Bartanium missiles directly at the forces, giving off the blast radius of almost a nuclear warhead...almost.

Wyldan stroked his hands together, one over the other, and then looked back at the comm uplink. "Ok lock on target...fire!"

Well over a hundred missiles locked onto each of Kaine's Star Destroyers fled their launchers and began smashing into the engines, seering off pieces and adding to the already scorching piles of debris.

Engines began to fail and falter on most, two of them even shutting down completely, it would not take long once they got close up however.
