bit of history:

A long long time ago in a galaxy far far away, me thrawn and scorp made a draft on fleet rules for the SWFans galaxy. This one and the next two I had a hand in forming. These rules listed shipyards 40km and 60km and we worked with either or back then.

Its my notion that when TGC broke off of SWFans long ago this part of the rules he stole, like all break away rule stealers, and thus this notion was carried on...

but then again, Im an idiot....

ok.. getting back on track, it seems Trachta has called for a Staff Review of last posted damages.

Griff: In going over this thread before, the staff lessened the amount of BOPs destroyed but as we also analyzed the damages and claims to the VCD, it was given 20% shield strength (with Trachta commented on and it seems to have been ignored).

If Trachta does not have any concern regarding the 28% hull, then adjust the damage to the VCD to take into consideration 20% shield strength.

It is not only the # of posts that is taken into account with ship damage, but what is shooting at it, as well as where it is being hit.

Example: You can have 50 ISDs attacking 1 VSD and if all ISDs shoot (for 40 posts) at the shield generator on the conning tower, the VSD will still NOT be destroyed. The overall hull strength of the VSD does not go down if the ship is not hit anywhere else. Of course the conning tower would be slag.


As for the Yards, they are not destroyed because in your previous post you set the SY damage to be 75%.
From you words, you set the "rate of damage" per post already and it does not look like Trachta contested it then. So, if that was at the 2nd post then it stands to reason that by the 3rd post, the rate of damage would put the yards at 50% now (unless the number of ships firing on the yards increased or decreased or the ships firing redirected their fire to other assets like ships).

Agreed.

I downed the Venerator shields by twelve percent instead of twenty eight percent, and I have downed the strength of the shipyards to 45% (I have all my ships firing on the yards now, not half), instead of 0%.

I beleives that covers everything.

You're aware that by doing that ammount of damage in one post, you're setting a precident for damages in other threads, correct?

Meaning that if your one ASD can do that ammount of damage to a shipyard in one post, (for example) the Imperial fleet at Mon Calamari can do more.

I would argue that one Star Destroyer cannot hope to destroy a shipyard at all in so little time (IC, less than ten minutes).

Executor, if you are talking about the Vengeance in the Computer Games. Executer herself slagged the Vergresso Asteroid Shipyard/Base in a couple volleys, same for untold space stations, Rebel shipyards, etc.
