I agree to the fullest extent with Drayson. This battle should be waged in the In Character forum, rather than here.

All right, I quoted a phrase from Gue's R&D seems to state that shield systems capable of deflecting solar radiation would be capable of deflecting the microwave tech.

While widebrim angles make for weaker beam dispersal, as does small degree angle increse effectiveness of the beam, this dispersal disregards most forms of protection that dont already protect against other forms of heat radiaton, as these forms of protection (as well as fewer forms of radiation sheilding, non-ray sheilding) are already designed to prevent the effects of solar rays of a similar nature.

What shield system, particle, ray, or an unknown third, protects against solar radiation, and does that phrase I mean what I read it to mean?

Drayson and Adrian, this is a warning to each of you. Read the sticky General Announcement to see why.

I made the system to bypass Ray shields, thus the non-ray referance. I know of no other ship system that protects against such things, so I listed an ambigous system that for all intensive porpouses doesnt exist. My little way of saying it cant be stoped unless you build something else...

R&D concerns are more then valid when you are facing an oppenent with untried technology.

Especially one that ignores R&D concerns in the R&D forum.

As a matter of fact the lack of information in an R&D does in fact effect the R&D you can only use what is written in an R&D.

The fact is that you have PIM type missiles listed and yet you have no listed launch mechanism.

Example:

If you arm a ship with concussion missiles then you also list that it has concussion missle launchers. Minus the Cuncussion missile launchers a ship equiped with cuncussion missiles has no way to fire said missiles.

Unless someone can logically argue that, just becuase you list that you have said missiles, means that you can fire them if even if you do not list cuncussion missile launcher in an R&D.

Like wise with Proton torpedoes(Launcher) and thermal detonators (Chute).

Issue points:

You list that you have PIM type of missiles and yet you have key points missing.

A) you have no listed launch mechanism that is required for the deployment of a projectile weapon.

B) Even lacking a launcher it would be implied that there would be a launcher if you listed how many of these you can fire at once.

-With that we could determine how many launchers you may have.

-You do not even list this.

-We have no idea how many of these things can be fired at once.

-It could be one or it could be a dozen becuase you list nothing in this reguard you leave us to have to take you on your word as to how many you can launch at once.

-Rp is determined by what is in an R&D and what is not in an R&D, what is not in an R&D is just as important as what is listed.

C) Minus the above information I have to conclude that you cannot use the system becuase of the lack of description in terms of launching.

Conclusion:

For citation of a lack of a system I would cite the BOP tech situation.

The ship was lacking shield ratings and as such was forced to RP minus shields becuase of the fact.

This ship may have PIMs but I would cite that minus a launching mechanism or even an implied mechanism to determine the number of launchers and the number of missles that could be launched at one time.

And that becuase of this this ship be forced to RP minus the ability to fire said PIM missiles pending the review of said R&D.

Vonta, Get IC and RP. I have Missles, they can luanch. Dont like it? Too Bad. Your blatently being obtouse and stalling for time, so I disregard your previous statement of being unable to get posts out within the 72 hour rule. If you spent as much time on OOC arguments as IC roleplay you might actually be good, instead of a jerk.

No, I am calling you on problems that I have seen in your R&Ds. Doing so is well within my rights.

It was not stupid when Farfalen called ORS on their lack of Shields in their R&D.

It is not stupid that I question your R&D's considering that I have to fight them.

I brought these kind of issues to your attention in the R&D forum and you ignored me.

I brought up the matter of R&Ding weapons in another R&D and you continually blew me off.

Now I make a case that forces you to relent to a degree becuase the evidence is stacked against you.

If you did not want to address these issues you should not have ignored me in the R&D forum then becuase now that you are attacking me I have the right to challenge your R&Ds on their content and how it applies to IC use.

Now seeing that you disagree yet again, refusing to discuss or compromise the issue at hand, then the staff can look the matter over.

Not having a launcher mechanism mentioned is a serious problem that I want fixed immediately. Aside from that, the missiles are listed in the document, so one can assume that the craft is capable of firing them, even if crewmen in vacuum suits push them out the hangar bays. Since they run under their own power, that may indeed be how they are fired.

All right, staff ruling here. The Ghoul can deploy one of these missiles per post.

As for the Missiles themselves being legal, yes, they were approved.

Note that the reference to the BoP situation doesn't really apply here. If the BoP had listed say, 4 Ray Sheild Generators, shield strength could have been estimated.

Adrian, check the R&D forum and you well find that I brought up such issues and was ignored for my trouble.

Secondly R&D issues are important in fleet conflicts.

Thirdly, not your concern as per rules.

Question: Screamer Posting etiquete.

The Banshee does not follow conventional rules for how long it takes to charge post wise.

Questions:

1)Can the screamer charge in hyperspace or does it need to charge at the battle field?

2)Define how close that the 'close proximity' effect radius for spreading the effect to other ships is.

3)What is the range of this weapon? Does it have to be close to a target or can it fire from long distances?

4)Do sheilds effect it? Yes or no?

Banshee

Screamer

in its simplest form is basically nothing more than a sensor jammer, except far more powerful. The Screamer is hooked up to 4 massive capacitors, which take 30 minutes to charge fully. The Screamer is wired into the hull of the ship its installed in and when fired utilizes the entire ship as a massive antenna to broadcast an immense power spike which would initially damage only active sensor suites. Passive sensors or powered down ones are safe. This damage quickly sets up a feedback loop devastating unshielded systems, if a group of ships is flying in close formation the energy can arc from one to the next inflicting more damage. The Screamer itself is extremely maintence intensive, requiring replacement of all cables connecting it to the ships hull after every shot, a complete rebuild of its cooling systems every two, and replacement of the capacitors every 5 as to utilize the Screamer effectively with its long carge time, they muct be powered at all times. Due to these limitations the Screamer can only be fired once during even the most extensive fleet engagements. However, often one shot is all thats needed to turn the tide.

1. battlefield
2. under 150m Id Imagine, consider a tesla coil
3. Long distance, its based on how far your sensors can detect, not on its actual proximity to you
4. No, it effects the sensors, then systems around those
