The Past Sets Into The Present(Kahn)

Amalia laughed, a bit of a sparkle in her eye.

"Yes, I sometimes miss my days as a padawan too. Things were so much easier back then, too bad I didn't know it then, I thought everything was hard. Ah, but it's all worth it now, I suppose..."

"...Besides, look how far you've come, being a Knight has its own rewards, rewards that being a padawan does not have."

The shuttle settled into space, and almost on its way into hyberspace, on route to Coruscant.

Kahn nodded, a smile on his lips.

"That it does, that it does."

He was silent for a few moments.

"How is Lono doing? He seemed as energetic as ever when I last saw him. I bet he's a handful."

Amalia sat back in her seat, more relaxed now.

'He's just fine. He's one of the best things to ever come into my life. I don't know what I'd do without him. He's so energetic, and so full of life and spirit. He even brings out Malice's true form."

"Speaking of Malice, how does he treat Lono?"

Kahn couldn't help feeling protective of the three year-old. He had had tragedy so early in his life that he didn't want it to happen to anyone else.

Amalia smiled softly, though a slightly sadness was found in the feature of her smile.

"As good as any Sith would treat another being, I suppose. I don't really like Lono hanging around Malice, but he is Lono's father, and he deserves to see his son."

Amalia glanced over at the viewscreen, measuring the distance they had gone thus far, they still had a ways to go.

Kahn spoke in a soft tone, sensing his Master's sadness.

"He'll grow up to be a fine young man, Amalia. Malice won't get to him."

"That's not what really bothers me, Kahn," She said softly.

"It's that I grow unsure of how things will go between Malice and Lono. I'm not so sure they'll get along. I want Lono to accept his father for who he is, and not what he is."

Kahn was silent for a few moments.

"Whenever I've heard Lono talk of Malice, it's always with love. Even when he's older, he'll retain that love, Amalia, even if Malice doesn't return it. Lono's a good kid."

"Yes, I know he does, I'm just worried he'll grow with troubled feelings for his father, and I don't want that..."

Her eyes quickly glanced over to her viewport, and she pointed outwards.

"There's Coruscant, we should be there pretty soon," She said as she turned to him, smiling.

"Have any ideas yet as to what my present could be?"
