The Past Sets Into The Present(Kahn)

Amalia entered the Jedi living quarters area with a pleasant smile upon her face. She felt more alive and content today than she had been in weeks, and it showed.

She came to a sudden stop when she reached Kahn's temporary Jedi living quarters, the care free smile remaining upon her face as she knocked on his door, awaiting patiently for him to answer.

The Knight had been meditating in his room when he heard the knock. Almost instantly he recognized the Force signature, and a smile crossed his face. He always valued the conversations and time he had with his Master. Getting up, he walked over to the door and opened it. Kahn was happy to see that Amalia seemed in good spirits as well. After the choices she had had to make about coming back to the Order and all, she had seemed a bit saddened, not her usual self. Now she seemed more content.

"Hello Master."

Her smile grew even wider when she saw that the Jedi Knight was in good spirits as well.

"Hello Kahn, it is good to see you. I know I've been busy and haven't had much time since my return to visit with you, I'm sorry..."

She grew quiet for a moment, disappointed with the way she used her time. She spoke up after a time, remembering what she came to see Kahn for.

"..Anyway, I have something for you, a present, but you see, it's not here, but on Coruscant. I've made reservations for us. We can leave today, or if you're busy, later on in the week sometime."

She raised her eyebrows slightly at him.

"So....what do you say? Are you interested?"

Kahn raised an eyebrow in surprise, a trait he had picked up from Amalia. A present? On Coruscant? What could that be? However, the smile did not fade from his features. Just spending time with Amalia was a present to him, now that she was busy with other Padawans and other duties.

"Definately interested. I can leave now, I just have to get a few things packed."

He took a step back from the doorway, gesturing for Amalia to come in.

"It should only take a few minutes."

"Alright, Thank You."

She thanked him for inviting her in and then quickly made her way inside to stand near his window, taking a quick look at the view before turning back to Kahn.

"You won't need much, we should be gone no more than three or four days at the least."

Kahn nodded silently, packing a few clothes and the like. Double-checking in his mind to make sure he had not forgotten anything, he turned to Amalia.

"Ready to go then, Master. And curious to see what you have planned."

He smiled.

"Well, I hope you'll like it," She said with a soft smile.

The two Jedi made their way out of Kahn's room, stopping by Amalia's own temporary quarters to gather her own things.

Thirty minutes latter Kahn and Amalia sat in the shuttle within the docking bay area, preparing the shuttle for the trip ahead.

The young Knight sat in the cockpit with Amalia, in the co-pilot's seat. He remained silent, contemplating what the present could be while checking to make sure all of the shuttle's systems were operational. While doing so, he broke the silence, not an uncomfortable silence, but a friendly one, that had fallen between them.

"How have you been, Amalia? It's been awhile since we've had time to talk."

Amalia checked to see that everything was in toe and working properly, flipping switches as test runs as she did so.

"I've been alright, I've been busy training new students, mostly, and trying to spend as much time as I can with Lono. How about you? How's it feel to be a teacher?"

She smiled warmly, the engine of the shuttle just beginning to start up. Soon after, the shuttle lifted into the air, and Amalia settled the shuttle on auto-pilot, as she waited a response from Kahn.

Kahn looked thoughtful for a moment.

"I like it, to be able to teach others and watch them grow in the Force."

He paused, smiling.

"Though I somewhat miss my days as a Padawan."
