Upon descending off of the ship's hangar bay platform Brava took a brief moment to ascertain what she could about the situation set out before her.

The Rogue Jedi's ice blue eyes became transfixed on the ambiance set before her. Yet even with the coarse imagery, the pubescent Jedi still managed to be as placid as ever.

Turning to Master Jiren, a solemn yet quizzical gaze fell on to Brava's face, waiting for answers.

Corran looked around. He'd seen the images but he hadn't wanted to believe them. But this, this was real. This was right in front of him. He could reach out and touch these people.

Frowning he looked at Master Jiren. It couldn't be the sith, they would have felt a darkside prescence. Besides Master Jiren had been a sith and he'd had no idea what this was either.

Corran stood there just staring at the bodies trying to understand.

Zeralin Lah sat in silent contemplation as the blue glowbugs on the board continued to surround the area which had once been a village, but which was now little more than a clearing in the woods. Similarly, red bugs continued to move about that clearing, the Yuuzhan Vong slowly surrounding them carefully veiled from sight. There were dozens of Jeedai, hundreds of troops -- all on Veresh with one purpose; to fight the Yuuzhan Vong.

They would find the servants of Yun-Yammka doing their master's bidding sooner or later, supposed Zeralin Lah; better to lay for them a crippling reception than allow the infidels to designate the time and place of their meeting.

"You see what they are doing, Kilraak Domain Sovax?" Zeralin Lah asked the younger Yuuzhan Vong, his eyes never leaving the glowbug display.

"Of course I see what they are doing," The other spat, as if disgusted at the mere implication of his ignorance.

"They are securing their position, establishing a perimeter in the ruined structures." Zeralin Lah pointed a single digit on his arm, originally the limb of a Voxyn genetically modified to produce an arm more useful to a biped organism. He'd sacrificed his true arm to the gods before the beginning of the Veresh campaign. "This infidel, this Jeedai, thinks like a warrior."

"You say that as if you almost respect him, Commander," Kilraak Sovax said, raising a hairless eyebrow curiously. "Why, you wouldn't be showing a weakness for the infidels, would you?"

Zeralin Lah glared at the younger Yuuzhan Vong, and muttered a virulant curse at him -- something which, though it can scarcely be translated to Basic, roughly means, 'Slug-infested infidel-whoring fecal matter'. "I have had enough of your mouth, Kilraak. Do not make me render it useless by removing your tongue and forcing you to eat it." He turned back to the glowboard, nodding to the attendants. "Attack now. Kill them all."

The Ossan troops spread out through wreckage of the town on Gash's order, securing their position quickly and efficiently.

Gash himself shook his head, looking from Kamon to Ade-Ay. "No, they were not killed by blasters. But we knew this. We've known this all along. Whatever is killing these people... doesn't operate in typical military fashion. It's not the Empire, it's not terrorists."

The first of them then flew over their heads and into their midst, then, originating from the wooded escarpments which surrounded the small settlement on all sides. Gash did not sense it; none of the Rogue Jedi sensed it. One of the military aides ran up to the Rogue Jedi Master, saying, "We've secured the city, sir," but that was as far as he ever got.

Before the man even stopped running, a projectile of some sort swooped in with a low buzz, impacting on his head with a sick thud sound. The man's skull instantly caved, and he fell to the ground, blood pooling about his corpse.

Instantly, Gash had his two lightsabers, one blue, one red, out and activated, immediately parrying another of the things with one of his blades. Suddenly, the air was thick with the things, little black murder-flies swarming in from all directions. "On your guard!" He shouted, as a great commotion began among the alerted Jedi. He turned to Kasien, saying, "All troops, on their guard. Shoot to kill anything that isn't Ossan."

As he slowly bent over the man's corpse, staying on guard even still, he stared into the remains of the aide's head. What he found were insectoid remains, crushed from the impact and some sort of small concussive blast. He straightened up, and parried several more of the bugs. "You can't sense them with the Force!" He shouted. Several men, mostly non-Jedi, fell about him, clutching serious wounds. "Reach out, feel the air move about you! Look for the sound of buzzing!"

And then the shooting started.

It began at the perimeter of the village, a great din of firepower pouring out into the forest as black figures in the distance moved from them. But the figures moved with such swiftness that they had soon closed to within meters of the village's edge, the soldiers doing their best to fight them off. They seemed to fight primarily hand-to-hand.

"Rush out and meet them!" Gash ordered. "Keep on your guard for the bugs." Most of the Rogue Jedi began to rush for the edge of village, as the enemy moved in on them from all sides, but some did not. Gash stopped running and looked back. "Go now, god damnit! These are Vong! If you don't fight, you damn us all to a fate much worse than death!"

The last of the Jedi ran towards the combat, and Gash heard one of them say, "My god, there must be fifty of them."

Kamon charged at the woods. He knew as soon as the first died what was happening. He looked at Gash as he ran.

"I knew something like this was going to happen. My vision may be right. Be careful."

He charged into the woods. Watching, feeling the air. A movement behind him. He spun, lightsaber in hand, and blocked an amphistaff.

"What right do you have to be here Vong?"

He moved to attack.

The amphistaff slashed at my face, and was blocked mere centimeters before touching skin. The solid body convulsed and became a snake-like whip, wrapping around the charged blade of my lightsaber. Venom flew towards my eyes, and out of pure trust in the Force I leaned to the left. The venom flew into a nearby tree, dissolving the bark and moss alike. For a second I stared in wide-eyed amazement,

In the name of the Force!

The snake-like whip recoiled back, and let out a hiss as it became the solid form of an amphistaff. Seeing my chance to run and reconsider my tactics, I turned only to find the blade of another amphistaff. Without my defenses ready, the blade found home in my cheek, slicing through flesh and bone with ease. I let out a blood curdling scream as the venom leaked into the cut, and I felt it spread through my veins like wild fire.

"Shasa!"

The curse rose through the woodland, as did the following string of them. I rose my lightsaber from behind, feeling the crabshell armour try, ineffectively, to stop the cauterizing weapon. I kicked the limp Yuuzhan Vong back, as the other's amphistaff came again towards my head...but this time I was ready. I ducked, and then as soon as it passed, I kicked at the Vong's unshielded armpit. She toppled over in pain, and I took my chance.

The touch skin of the Yuuzhan Vong was certainly not enough to stop the powerful blazing sword. The female's head rolled onto the ground, and the trail of thick black blood that followed pooled around the neck. My own blood was coming out fast, but slower then it had before...the healing was taking place quickly.

Another ship landed a bit later then expected. It was a small craft, built for speed and manuvering, but also built with an instinct all it's own. As soon as it touched down, the ship shifted to match the area around it. A brunnette soon emegered from the confines of the ship wearing a loose blue top, a pair of black slacks, black knee boots, and well armed, with a double bladed lightsaber in hand, a riffle on her back, and a blaster by her side.

Kate growled, a pissed off that she had shown up late, but she had gotten hung up a system back by customs. She spotted the nearest bunch of soldiers, ignited both ends of the lightsaber and smirked," Need help boys?" she said as she spun and blocked an incomming amphistaff.

"The hell to them. Kick some Vong ass."

Ade-Ay rushed out to the edge of the village, without his lightsaber ignited. Ade-Ay smirked as three Vong came up upon him. He tried to throw them back with the force but they continued to charge at him. He panicked for a few seconds, then he noticed the amphistaffs. He pulled the lightsaber into his left hand, dagger style. He ignited the bright teal blade and blocked the amphistaff by the first oncoming Yuuzhan Vong. The other two circled around him and he used both hands on the lightsaber to block another attack by both of them, dodging a swing to his head.

He called upon the power of the force and let lose a huge whirlwind attack. The wind blew them back a few feet, and one was still at his feet, he attacked. Ade blocked the amphistaff with the lightsaber in his left hand. He then used his right hand to generate spark of the lightside. The straight line of pure light shot right into the Vong’s chest and he fell to the ground. The other two Vong in the meantime have gotten up and they both swung at Ade’s head. He ducked and blocked them with his lightsaber. He twirled and his lightsaber stabbed right into the left Vong’s face while he continued to kick the other one off with his right leg.

He caught Ade’s foot and Ade-Ay used the force to hold himself up into the air while his other leg came around on the other side of the Vong. He levitated himself for a short few seconds with his legs on the Vongs shoulders long enough to bring his lightsaber down on his head. The Vong’s amphistaff managed to wack him in the chest. He fell to the ground between the two, now dead Vong, with his chest pounding in pain.

He stood up, using the force to subside the pain while more came up upon him.

Kamon's lightsaber blocked a strike from an amphistaff just as a Thud Bug went by his head. He ducked away and sliced the Vong's legs out from under him. He then sliced off its head.

Kamon heard Jace scream and cursed. He knew better than to let his padawan go alone. He cursed himself for doing it. He ran towards the scream in time to see Jace kill the Vong.

Kamon's hand went to Jace's wound forcing out the poison and healing the wound. He looked around for possible enemies then turned to Jace.

"You alright?"

Gorak watched the infidel vessles land. He punded a fist into his palm. He should have been on the bridge to attack the vessels before they landed. Oh well. He was needed on the ground now.

He stroked the villip that would contact the head of his Domain. Zeralin Lah was the face that took shape. Gorak bowed.

"The warmaster seems predisposed. My troops are ready. May we provide assistance?"
