The droid had long gone and went by now. Amalia sat picking at her food. Her mood had changed drasticly within the last fifteen minutes and she no longer really felt hungry, just lonely.

Deciding that it would not really do her any good to mope about, Amalia, though hesitant, took a bite of her food.

I think I'll take a walk after lunch, there's not really a lot of action going on around here, at least not right now anyway.

She sighed, took a sip of her scotch, and then went back to eating her meal.

Mattimus zoomed in and out of the asteroids with easy. The ships only had to counteract the gravity of the asteroids in order to avoid the asteroids. This was another advantage of a coralskipper. No matter what, they would never crash into another object in space when they were aware it was there. He never heard Aron's transmission to him. But he could tell the Jedi wanted to leave. He watched as the x-wing manuevered through the asteroid field. Thos bulky machines were not as graceful as the coralskippers. He knew that without the witchcraft that the jedi practiced, this young man would certianly be dead. Once again he saw the x-wing try to disengage but his path was blocked suddenly by a large asteroid which held the shape of a star destroyer except that the edges were smooth but more rocky. The x-wing quickly swerved away from the star destroyer asteroid to follow the coral skipper again. Mattimus opened up the communications link again.

"What's wrong Aron, you chickening out?"

"Of course not Matt I could beat you with my eyes closed but i have something else to do so I bid you farewell," came the reply.

"Let me help you on your way out Aron."

"Huh?" Aron said. As he did the coralskipper turned on a dime. There was a moment of tenseness as the two ships faced each other. Then a small hole opened up on the skipper. A ball of a lava-like substance came shooting forth from the opening towards the x-wing. It was traveling at such a speed that it would destroy the x-wing before it could fully get away. Just then the star destroyer asteroid made another appears and moved between the two. It took the blow, which marked a deep crater in the already scarred surfice. When the asteroid had finally moved away the x-wing was gone. Mattimus said to himself,

"He won't be back for a while."

Mattimus stopped the coral skipper in the asteroid field where it blended perfectly. He continued his wait.

*aron had put on his cloaking device but had also gotten
out of sight, just in case that skipper had some hidden capabilities.*

*to himself*
was it something i said?
blast you, mattimus. you're now truly a yuuzhan vong. and i can
no longer restrain myself from making the generalization that they
are all ruthless vicious creatures.

aron(out loud):o k......computer!

cpu: yes, sir.

aron: prepare a transmission. send it out into space...but not
directly at the skipper. mattimus will think it's something else
and "intercept" it.

cpu: certainly sir. audio or visual?

aron: audio only. right now, im not in the mood for him to actually
see me.

cpu: right, sir.

aron: begin audio record.......

Mattimus, I would have preferred to have given you this message
personally. But your present rowdy mood has prevented that.
I regret to say, that you have, indeed changed from child to man,
which in the Yuuzhan Vong species, from what ive seen, is a BAD
thing. I wish to tell you that contrary to our beliefs, your parents
were not my parents' assassins. In fact, I have discovered, through
the Force, that BOTH of our parents were killed by Imperial Stormtroopers
during the Jedi Purge.
ooc:see my training at tgc.
ic:Seen with my jedi parents, these stormtroopers
mistook your parents for a species of force-sensitive jedi. in any event,
as you know, they dispised all non-human species. My parents were blasted
and yours were restrained and forced to enure death at the hands of ion disruptor
bombs. You may continue your work, knowing your parents are at peace, and
may continue to bounty-hunt, uninterrupted by your want to find them.
I hope to see you on my travels, and hope to find you in more friendly spirits
next time...............cease record.

cpu: very moving, sir.

aron: thank you computer. dispense that into the generic area around
mattimus's skipper and dont make the jump to hyperspace to the
sullust system until he's intercepted it.

cpu: yes sir.

aron:*feels a jolt as his x-wing makes the jump to lightspeed.*

Adron slowly strolls down the streets of Theed, his eyes from time to time fall upon a female whom he thinks could possibly be his daughter. His eyes sparkle for a brief moment as he scans a face, only to have the sparkle vanish into sadness.

He enters a local shop, looking to buy of all things, a blaster. All he really needed was his lightsaber, he was never without one. It was after all, his tool, he had crafted it with his own two hands. He never went anywhere without it. He wanted the blaster though for security reasons.

He picked out a medium sized blaster, carefully inspecting it before going to buy it. He saw that it was in good condition, without a word he set the blaster upon the counter, pushing it toward the owner of the store. The man eyed Adron suspiciously, as if some how already knowing that Adron was new to this town. Adron just smiled lopsidedly, nodding his head slightly toward the blaster. The store owner still said not a friendly word to him, he just simply repeated the amount for the blaster. Adron slowly shifted through his right pocket of his Jedi robes, never taking eyes off of the store owner, he slowly pulled out the necessary credits needed for the blaster. He paid the man, gave his thanks, picked up his blaster, and headed for the door without another word, though he made a mental note to himself not to ever set foot into this particular store ever again, just for the unfriendliness.

He flipped the blaster around on the index finger of his left hand and then shoved it into his belt, close to his hip, where it could be kept safely guarded.

He did not make it very far out of the store when his stomach began to rumble with hunger. He patted his stomach, softly chuckling to himself.

I guess I know what that means, he thought to himself, as he looked around for a place to eat. He smiled to himself as he glanced across the street, seeing a small cafe. He began to make his way across to the other side of the street....

*Amalia had long since finished her meal, paid her bill. Though for some reason, she just hadn't mustered up enough energy to get up from her table and walk out of the cafe.*

Really should be going for that walk now...

*She did not much care to though. She knew however, that she could not just sit around all day. Her boredom was on high, but she would indeed find something to cure herself of it. So she slowly stood up, placed a few credits onto her table as a tip for her waiter and then headed for the door. She did not get far out of the door and into the street when a large rough looking man bumped into her, pushing her roughly onto the ground.*

"Hey Lady! Watch where you're going, will ya!"

*He snarled at her, and ran off, not really caring to help her up. Amalia sat upon the ground, a bit dazed.*

Well, this day sure seems to be getting better and better...

Adron was halfway in the middle of the street, trying to cross it, when he saw a young woman exit the cafe. Well, he saw her sort of exit. She did not get very far when a large, well built looking man slammed into her, knocking her to the ground. Adron could only think of one thing though as his stomach continued to rumble on with hunger, helping her.

He rushed forward the rest of the way across the street, and toward the girl. He could not see her face as she was not looking toward him. Nonetheless, he yelled out to her, hoping to get her attention so that he could help her.

"Excuse me, Miss? Are you alright?"

Slowly the woman turned her head toward the sound of his voice...

"Excuse me, Miss? Are you alright?"

Slowly Amalia turned her head toward the direction from where she heard the voice call from. The man walked closer, she seemed not to see him at first, really see him, but as he bent down to reach for her to help her up, something changed upon her face.

She could not speak, she could not shake her head, she could not move. She looked into the man's face, and into his eyes. She knew those eyes and she knew that face.

Well how nice, I've fallen and now I am dead.

That was the only explaination Amalia could come up with as she looked upon this man's face. For the figure that was now resting a gentle hand upon her arm was supposed to be dead, dead as in no more, dead as in no longer living in the here and now.

Well, if there was ever a person to greet me in the afterlife, I'd want it to be him.

Well, she had officially done it. Amalia Azalin, proud and faithful Jedi Master of The Jedi Council had gone crazy, she had lost all of her marbles and it would take her a very long time to find them again.

She did not know how many minutes had passed, time had no value to her now, she was lost. Still she had not spoken.

Adron: "Amalia..."

Amalia: "I would be she and she would be me and I..."

She fainted then...

"Excuse me, Miss? Are you alright?"

Slowly the woman turned her face toward him. All at once, all at once, her eyes met his. All at once, the memories came fludding back to him. Memories that had never been removed from his mind.

He just looked back at her for a time, she doing the same. He studied the lines of her face, the curve of her cheek bones, the way her eyes looked. It was all there, just as he had remembered her to be.

His little girl, his baby girl. The one thing that had kept him living all these years, the one who had kept him hoping, believing.

He saw it there, in her face, recognition. As their eyes met, he knew...He knew that she knew too, that it was him..

Adron: "Amalia..."

Amalia: "I would be she and she would be me and I..."

He watched as she fainted, falling limp into his waiting arms. Arms that longed to have been able to protect her all these years....

He gently tapped her cheek to get a response from her, calling out to her.

"Amalia, sweetheart!?"
  • Posted On: Dec 9 2001 9:15am
*His words came out slow in Amalia's ears. So slow that she could not make the words out. It did not even sound like him, more like a monster. She felt odd, as if she were not there but some other place. He said the same words again, this time his words seemed more recognizable, well she could make them out at least, though his voice still wasn't his own yet...*

"Amalia, sweetheart!?"

*Her heart felt like it could leap out of her chest. Her eyes, they would not open. She only heard his voice, nothing else around her could she hear. Finally the sense of touch came to her. She felt his hand resting upon her cheek, and she remembered...*

"Amalia, c'mon sweetie."

*He must have sensed her change in response, he must have felt it. Her eyes slowly fluttered open only to make direct contact with his own eyes. She said not a word, her face, ever impassive. She still lay almost lifeless in his arms.*

*Then it happened, he smiled. It was the same old familiar smile that Amalia had missed so much and after all these years, it had not changed.*

*A word began to slowly creep toward her mouth, slowly yet softly escaping her lips. it was only one word, but it was a word she had waited for what felt like a lifetime to say.*

"Papa..."

*She had seen his face so clearly when her eyes had fluttered open, but now, now her focus was not so clear. Tears now filled her eyes, but she did not cry. She knew not what to believe. No differentiation between reality and illusion.*
