Empire's Shadows: Daunting the Dark Side (Jaminere)

A special villip vibrated inside the Supreme Overlord’s villip cache. This villip doubled the dimensions of a regular villip. Seeing the special pod spasm, the Supreme Overlord reached a large hand over and grabbed the communications creature.
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp
The creature pulsed in Lord Shimmra’s hand and soon it took the shape of a Yuuzhan Vong that had not been seen in the past fifteen years. The face was contorted and unlike a Yuuzhan Vong’s face; but the ultimate commander knew the face’s owner. Goggles covered the being’s eyes, and a leather mask covered the mouth. It belonged to the heir.
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp
Lord Shimmra pursed his lip-less mouth together into a vicious looking smile. Before responding to the villip, Shimmra turned to his aide.
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp
“Astrin… look at what you helped produce,” Shimmra spoke to the once-Sith Lord, Aaron Astrin. After fifteen years in Yuuzhan Vong control and many more years at the hands of the Darkside, Aaron Astrin had lost his dazzling looks in turn for Yuuzhan Vong implants and shriveled skin. Aaron had become Shimmra’s personal assistant after a “failed” mission to Yuuzhan Vong territory. In a duel to the death, the Dark Lord defeated the Jedi Knight Verge and received the right to spawn the Supreme Overlord’s offspring. His Force essence had been mapped into enzymes usable by Yuuzhan Vong and made into an implant, which was what gave Pyrael his Force power.
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp
“Shimmra, we created one dark being,” Aaron Astrin replied. Even at the distance, Astrin could feel the power radiating off of the Knight. “I say he should come aboard and learn more about himself…”
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp
Shimmra continued smiling. He nodded at his attendant and turned his attention to the villip, which was now bursting with emotion. “Pyrael of Darkness, the successor to the throne of Yuuzhan Vong, survivor of the twin’s duel, rightful offspring of me; it has been a long time.”

The bridge crew of the Zealous Mist seemed to gasp in unison as the first of the TIE Defenders exploded. Siather wasted no time, by the Mists of Gand he would defeat these "ships" and show them true Rouge Imperial power.

"Have the Tempest Mist fire 10 missiles at that ship that looked comparable to the size of a Star Destroyer designate it target alpha for all gunners on both ships. All fighters are to work in flights of 4 and watch each others backs they have all been trained in TIE fighters they know what it is like to fly without shields."

The Tempest Mist brought itself about and fired ten missiles and both it and the Zealous Mist started to fire on target alpha with all weapons. The seemed to be on target and Siather started to grin as they got closer and closer. Suddenly everything both ships had fired disappeared. There seemed to be no trace of any of the weapons fire. The grin that had been forming on Siather's face disappeared.

"Analyze that phenomenon. What happened?"

"It seems something on that ship opened something like a small black-hole. Primary analysis of those ships tells us that that they shouldn't even be able to move let alone fire on us."

“Do we have any way of getting anything past those “holes” they are opening to protect themselves?”

“Not that I can tell right now sir.”

“Move us away from the planet and have all gunners concentrate fire on target beta. I want the option to retreat into hyperspace if we need to. Send a message toward the destination of the 1st, 2nd, and Despayre Fleet. We could use their help if they are capable of providing it.”

<!--EZCODE BOLD START--> The Coral Skippers were advancing on the enemy now, the enemy TIE losses already hit the 65% mark, and the infidels were moving into a fleeing vector. The pilots were fleeing and punching in hyperspace coordinates even without command, there was some strange sense in the air that caused a horrid sense of draught and fear amongst the forces.

There was no order left in the normally perfect Rogue Imperial lines, and suddenly a huge burst of flame emitted from the shieldless <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Tempest Mist<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->. Though the ship was not destroyed there was now a major fracture in the hull of the <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Victory<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->-Class Star Destroyer, several of the persons inside being sucked out by the vaccuum into deep space.
<!--EZCODE BOLD END-->

<!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> You are warriors, keep up the excellent work, much glory to your names!<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> <!--EZCODE BOLD START--> the yammosk thought to the pilots once again, and it worked as a perfect adrenaline rush, an irreplaceable boost of morale for the glory hungry, feral desires replacing humane and moral decisions. They were the perfect warriors.

Warmaster Zhin was almost jealous of those fighting and dying for the Praetorite Vong...almost. He knew more glory led in leading the soldiers through an impossible battle and returning to tell the tale. There was no better victory than that which crushed the enemy completely, that you could tell about later on.

The infidels' ship took another beating from the plasma of coralskippers, and he knew the <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Tempest Mist<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> was going to give way soon.
<!--EZCODE BOLD END-->

<!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Come now infidels...there is no point resisting.<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->

Siather cringed at the huge hole ripped in the hull of the Tempest Mist. She was not going to make it.

"Have any surviving crew of the Tempest Mist aim her toward target alpha. Ram it down their throat. Once the coordinates are set inform them that we are looking for volunteers to make sure it hits target alpha all others should get to escape pods that they can aim toward the Zealous Mist.”

After the orders were sent the direction of the Tempest Mist was set the Captain of the Tempest Mist contacted Siather with a list of volunteering crewmembers. Captain Ruld had all the crewmembers remaining behind prepare a short message for family and friends.

“Captain Ruld can you put me onto your loud speakers for all remaining crew to hear?”

“Ready sir.”

“I would like to thank you all for your sacrifice today, it will not be soon forgotten. Once you are within range and it is guaranteed that you will hit target alpha head for an escape pod if you can get there. I don’t know how these things will treat prisoners it may be your choice to remain. If you can get anywhere near the Zealous Mist we will pick you up.”

The Tempest Mist started nearing alpha target, being pounded by the enemy things as it made its way there. Siather doubted that anyone who had volunteered would survive but he didn’t want them to feel completely abandoned. He watched as the Tempest Mist started firing off all its guns. Captain Ruld must have programmed the weapons to fire by computer control. Not the most accurate aiming method but it was all that was available with no gunners aboard. The Zealous Mist started picking up escape pods with the help of the few remaining TIE Defenders. The Tempest Mist got within 700 meters of target alpha and started ejecting escape pods. The Tempest Mist plunged into the Star Destroyer sized thing and exploded into a massive fireball as deck after deck collapsed into the massive ship. The Zealous Mist collected the last of the escape pods were collected.

“Get us out of the planet’s gravity well.”

OOC I'll let you escape with heavy damage to heavy cruiser...but not destruction.

<!--EZCODE BOLD START--> Zhin's eyes narrowed as the heavy cruiser was rammed into by the immense nine hundred kilometers of pure bulk of ship. It was nearly destroyed, but there would soon be several worthy sacrafices for Yun-Yuuzhan. They were already being pulled into the giant asteroid like cruiser, they would be pried of any sanity they thought they had...and then thoroughly warped into nothingess.<!--EZCODE BOLD END-->

"They are withdrawing...unleash the grutchins,"

<!--EZCODE BOLD START--> Warmaster Zhin explained, and already a whole hundred of them were exiting the hangar and tearing at the space to reach the Star Destroyer. It would be there soon...then what would the persons there have? Anything? Would they survive?

Doubtful.

"Sir we are detecting projectiles of some sort incoming. They seem to be to small for our gunners to fire on."

Siather pondered for a second and then something on his sensor display of his panel on his chair sparked his imagination.

"Take us toward the planet full speed route half the power from the weapons to the engines and the rest to the tractor beams."

"Sir?"

"Don't question just do it we don't have much time"

The Zealous Mist turned 90 degrees and gunned its massive engines toward the planet again. The projectiles were quickly catching up. Siather did a quick calculation in his head based on the speeds of the projectiles and the speed of the VSD and discovered, as he had predicted, time would be tight. The debris from the recently destroyed shipyard which had fallen victim to the Death Hand's massive superlaser was all over the place.

"Ask we get closer to the debris of the destroyed shipyard grab as much of the debris as you can with the tractor beams and start forming a wall with it."

"Aye sir."

The projected entered the 2 km range as the tractor beams started on the wall of debris. They were 500 meters away by the time the wall was complete.

"Now reinforce our wall with the tractor beams."

The projectiles started latching onto the metal. Siather stared as they started to burn into the thick slabs of metal with some sort of acid.

"Time to go turtle folks. Grab as much debris as you can with the tractor beams and start forming a sphere around us. We are going to use it as our sheilds until Rear Admiral Visaqar arrives. It should also give us some time to analyze their weaponry and ships. Get to work people our lives and probably the lives of many others depend on us surviving here and getting as much information about this enemy as we can back to anyone that will listen."

The crew got to work and Siather even took control of three of the tractor beams to assist with the work.

<!--EZCODE BOLD START--> The infidels were smarter than Zhin had initially suspected, and he was greatly amused. A sphere had indeed been formed around the machinery, and the grutchins were simply bouncing off of them left and right. The warmaster was a bit edgy with using the bird like figures...seeing as they were untamable, being equally as willing to cut down Yuuzhan Vong as they were infidels. It was exceedingly difficult to control them, once they were used...they were gone, period.

The bird like figures however managed to penetrate the enemy defenses, and tore through the spherical shield, the scrap metal was nothing short of an annoyance to the power eating grutchins, and they were getting into the ship. However, some of them had been either crushed, shot by snipers, or just given up, heading to the planet to try for further prey.
<!--EZCODE BOLD END-->

"We are finding heavy resistance Warmaster Zhin,"

<!--EZCODE BOLD START--> One of the warriors reported, confirming that two more Coral Skippers had been lost in the fray.<!--EZCODE BOLD END-->

"It does not matter,"

<!--EZCODE BOLD START--> Zhin began.<!--EZCODE BOLD END-->

"Continue on them...have our diversions been sent?"

"Yes Warmaster."

"Good."

<!--EZCODE BOLD START--> Several of the escape pods had been sucked into the Victory Star Destroyer's frame in an attempt to preserve Rogue Imperial life...which was an interesting tactic these infidels often employed. They did not realize that one of the pods they were pulling in had deceptively been replaced with Yuuzhan Vong warriors, planning to overtake the small infidels' ship, and tear it out from the inside.

The warriors did not bother wearing their ooglish masquers, they had no reason to. All they needed were their amphistaffs and their incredible skills. The whole fourty of them could crush any opposition they met.
<!--EZCODE BOLD END-->

"We will not fail the great Yammosk and the Praetorite Vong!"

<!--EZCODE BOLD START--> Cried one of them...and so it began as they loaded into the ship.<!--EZCODE BOLD END-->

Rear Admiral Visaqar watched as the countdown ceased, and his ship eased out of hyperspace. He could see all of the Yuuzhan Vong ships, and turned to Lieutenant Jefferson.
"Raise the shields. Sound the Red Alert, all crew to their stations!" Visaqar shouted at him, and turned to Sergeant Rhymer.
"Contact the other ships, and keep a channel open between the fleet. Please make a connection with Commodore Siather."
"Done, Sir." Rhymer replied.
"Commodore, this is Rear Admiral Visaqar, I am within two minutes of your ships, and will engage the enemy immediately. When I give the signal, Jump out. You have too much damage. Don't take in any more Escape Pods, just leave them. We will gather them when the battle is over."

Visaqar nodded to Rhymer, who opened the fleet channel.
"Ok Men, this is where we prove our worth again. Shamus and Gold Dragon, launch all fighters, Interceptors, Defenders, and Advanced. Tell them to attack the small fighter-sized ships only. Use Turbolasers on that Large Cruiser-like ship. Use Missiles on the fighters. All squadrons except bombers, launch! Bombers, wait until the surrounding fighters have been cleared, then launch and attack those smaller support craft. Zeus, Mystic, Go for the Large Cruiser. Those are your orders, lets do the Emperor proud!"

Visaqar turned to Lieutenant Jefferson, "Full speed ahead, go for the fighters. We must get those ships off the Zealous Mist! When they are clear, go for the Cruiser!"

"At once, Sir." Jefferson replied, and the Victory Mk 1 was underway.

<!--EZCODE BOLD START--> <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> So...more have arrived<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> thought the great Warmaster Zhin, seeing as the new infidel task force had arrived and already began firing on the coral skippers. Their tiny black hole projecting dovin basals however had absorbed any missiles they attempted to fire, completely countering any tactics they decided to use. A majority of the Praetorite Vong's fighters did an about face and immediately began firing their plasma-like substance on the infidel fighter craft.

Several of the pilots screamed in both frustration and pain as their shields suddenly disappeared, and the plasma tore into their hull. Two of the TIE Defenders now had been destroyed, and several of the grutchins, leaving the attention of the Victory Star Destroyer, turned and begun buzzing around these tiny snubcraft.
<!--EZCODE BOLD END-->

<!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Good..go...show no mercy my minions<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->

<!--EZCODE BOLD START--> The Yammosk thus far had been pleased with the progress of the battle, at how swiftly the enemies were being destroyed, at how they'd already lost a whole warship and a half...at how they'd pulled in a whole fleet for the mighty world ship to take down.<!--EZCODE BOLD END-->

<!--EZCODE UNDERLINE START-->Aboard the VSD Shamus<!--EZCODE UNDERLINE END-->

"Admiral Visaqar! Shields at 10%!" <!--EZCODE BOLD START--> one of the crewmen immediately reported. Sparks were already soaring throughout the decks and brdige of the <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Shamus<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->, casualties were at an all time high.

More blasts attempted to penetrate the heavy cruiser, but a great giant ball of what looked like plasma and electrcity suddenly smashed into the <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Mystic<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->, and Visaqar soon knew...this was no Rogue Imperial invasion...it was a nightmare...a nightmare that he would have no hope of escaping if he did not think fast.

Rear Admiral Visaqar, aboard the Hellfire, his personal Victory Star Destroyer, was cringing at the attack on the Rogue Imperial Forces. It was brutal, and for some reason, the larger craft weren't taking any damage. Luckily though, most of his fighters weren't Equipped with shields anyway. He was a smart commander, and if this type of damage was going to keep occurring, he would attempt to withdraw.

"SIR! the Shamus's shields are down to 10%. They don't now what has been attacking them! Damn! The Mystic has been hit by a large ball of electrically-charged plasma. It seems to be a biological weapon, Sir." Ensign Gardena yeled out to Visaqar.
"Wait, scan the enemy ships. Are they biological in nature?"
"Yes, Sir. They are."
Damn, our weapons won't do much damage. Give the order for all forces to withdraw. Fighters return to their ships, we're going to get out of this."

The Victory Mk 1 went to the side of the Zealous Mist, which also began to retreat.
