Drowning of the Light (Closed)

Placing his dagger back into one of the pockets of his utility belt the Zabrak surveyed Malice's room as he waited for the Sith demon to return.

Zeta scan of the room was intentional as he searched, but to no avail. What he was looking for he could not find.

He'd finished his search just as Malice returned, leaving Malice oblivious.

As Malice spoke, Zeta listened, keeping his gaze glued onto the other Sith.

"Do continue, Malice... time is vital.. and you're wasting it."

Zeta's visit was not without merit, if fact, his own presence was quite imperative for the Sith demon, for Zeta too had his visions.

Not getting the reaction he had wanted, Malice snorted at the Zabraks words.

*Very well. the darkness came to me in my vision Zeta. In the form of a demon no less. It spoke to me, telling me i wasn't ready. That i wasn't pure within the darkside*

Malice paused for a moment. Still ashamed of these words that were spoken to him.

*At first i didn't know what it was talking about. Not until it gave me the chance to embrace the raw power that is the darkside. I was close Zeta. Closer then you are to me. But just before i could grasp it, i was stopped. Amalia and my son, Lono, stopped me. Try as i might i could not get around them*

Again he paused, this time though to let what he said sink into Zeta.

*Shortly after i came to from my meditation. It took a little bit but i figured out why i wasn't able to harness the true power of the darkside. My ties and memories of Amalia and my son are what hold me back. Even wearing those white robes, though however miniscule and unimportant that may seem held me back.

So i came to the conclusion.......i must seek out Amalia and my son, and kill them both*

As he finished, he awaited to hear from Zeta. But before the zabrak could reply, a thought came to Malice's mind.

*Why have you come here Zeta? was there something you wanted to tell me?*

"My attention is the last thing you should be concerning yourself with, champion," she said, her brown eyes far more easily withstanding his intense heated gaze.

"Let's get one thing straight here and now, Bettencourt..."

Amalia swiftly moved to clear the rest of whatever distance was left between her and Jensen. Her face came just inches from his.

"You're right, you don't know me. You don't know anything about me," she said, a smug look settling onto her lips. Rage seeped into her voice as she continued to speak.

"So don't you dare..."

Her lips trembled slightly in enragement.

".. lecture me on what I should or should not be doing. Do so again and you'll be learning a new skill on gravitational pull."

Her brown eyes never came to flinch away from him, her rage suddenly coming to be replaced with sadness.

"I bet you don't have any idea of what it's like to feel alone. To have those closest to you just drift away. To have those you love, cherish and value, be around you, yet at the same time be so far away."

The Jedi's eyes stung with tears, but they never fell.

"Maybe I'm not alone... but I feel that way inside," she said softly.

She looked away.

"I'm lost and I'm confused, and I don't know who to turn to. I don't know who I'm supposed to trust..."

Slowly her gaze returned to him.

"... But that doesn't mean that I don't want to try. I already have, with my friends, and my family, but I can't make them understand anymore than I can you..."

She didn't tell him he was right, she didn't have to.

"... Just say that you won't push back.."

She waited for some type of response, but it never came.

".. His name is Zeta.. and he wanted Leia Organa Solo."

A quizzical stare surfaced onto Zeta's face as he tried to muse over what Malice's vision had meant.

Zeta knew something Malice didn't.

"It is a prophecy," he said curtly, moving to walk past Malice, only to stand in front of the window beside Malice's bed. With his hands clasped behind him, the Zabrak spoke again, but he still managed to leave much unsaid.

"You will come to face both your son and Amalia. It is there that you will come to discover the truth about yourself. It is also where your life, your son's life, as well as Amalia's life, will come to change forever.."

Listening to Zeta's words, Malice nodded in agreement.

*Indeed. But what makes me wonder is, will it change for my benefit, or hers. Once we meet, will i be able to achieve the power that i crave, or will the both of them be free of me for the rest of their lives*

Malice's mind now went into thought. Forgetting the question he had asked Zeta. Forgetting to find out why Zeta had come into his room in the first place.

"I'm not talking about when you meet," Zeta said, pausing to slowly turn around to face the demon Sith, his cold gaze locking onto Malice's form.

".. It's long after that I'm speaking of."

A profound silence came to cast itself into the room, Zeta's gaze emitting an eerie glow within the passing minutes of immobility.

"Seize the moment... afterwards, but do not forget that which is still worth remembering."

Look to the future but do not forget to look back on what came to shape it, this was what Zeta wanted Malice to understand.

Jensen met her talk with complete silince for many minutes taking in all she had told him.

He nodded subtley and he spoke, as if a question he had long wondered had finally been answered.

"Zeta..." The name was met with an eerie silence, with Jensen clearly showing deep thought.

The situation perplexed him, to him there was more to the situation then met the eye, Zeta clearly let them go, as he seemed to realize, killing them both was not the answer.

Almost as if the two was part of a larger plan.

Jensen thought of the last thing Zeta spoke to him.

He'd never know why...so it seemed.

What Zeta was speaking of at the time seemed clear then.

Perhaps his original reason for saying it was something else entirely.

But for now it didn't matter, here and now mattered. To make sure Amalia was safe, and to try to find a way to push back the darkness enveloping her very spirit.

Jensen locked eyes with Amalia again...this time to give the answer she thought wouldn't get, and he spoke in a hushed tone.

"I won't push back...I'll even tug you toward the right direction. To try and make sure you don't lose that which makes you, you, your heart and spirit. To make sure the darkness doesn't take that from you, and that the light never left, you aren't alone now Amalia. I'm with you and you can beat this, but it will take time, you have to believe that."

Amalia considered Jensen's brown eyes thoughtfully, seeing the genuineness in his gaze.

"We'll see," she said softly, a hint of hope tugging at her soul.

They had both finally made it to Jomark, Amalia's sanctuary, a place where she could think and be alone with her thoughts.

Yet now she wanted to think of nothing, not even Zeta and the things that he had said to her just before she had slipped into unconsciousness.

"We should get moving again," she said, her gaze seeming to look right past him as the winds picked up again.

She had handled worse wind conditions before but for some reason she felt rather cold. Her lips trembled slightly, her body shivered in turn.

Amalia's gaze refocused onto Jensen, somehow expecting him to lead the way, but when her brown eyes connected with his she observed something that made her smile inwardly to herself.

"Are you alright?"

Understanding Zetas message, Malice scoffed at it.

*I want to forget about the past. Nothing in it i'd care to remember. All it does is hold me back from gaining what is mine. So, to end Amalia's life, as well as the life of my son, it will in turn close my past, and let me start anew*

Thinking his words over, Malice walked over to his window, looking out at the view of the land. Such a dead, and dreadful place.

Zeta did not turn to face Malice again, his gaze glued to the door.

"So what will you do now, where will you go?"

He would pretend to play the oblivious fool for all involved.

Really.. He would always be one step ahead.

... The light would indeed drown.

.. and with contentment he would watch.

... Revenge would be his at last ...
