A Fateful Turn Pt. II-Ylesia's Epilogue

Careening down the mountain face were hundreds upon hundreds of the mechanical like terrors raining down atop the Yuuzhan Vong warriors, where they deceitful plan lay in wait. A good chunk made it, but another good chunk fell fatally to the clever traps laid out by the Warmaster's kin, where the Gand were able to survive the cuts, several bites had managed to slip in the creases of the exo-skeletons from the marauding, well-placed amphistaves.

However, the stormtroopers managed to press on with their vibro-katanas, as did several more Gand once the first wave of amphistave had been removed, only to find themselves rained down upon with the vicious plasma-like lava of the command tanks.

Then, when all was cleared through and done, the Rogue Imperial forces and the Gand had finally gotten past the initial waves with rivaling ferocity and menacing might.

However, the Yuuzhan Vong, though ferocious and managed to cut down several storm troopers, were going down easily, and the tank continued to pour down onto the Gand, storm trooprs, and Yuuzhan Vong warriors.

The Det'aan picked up the pace cutting the Vong down quicker and quicker the Stormtroopers struggled to keep up. They were well trained but Det'aan warriors trained from the age of 4 to be what they were. This attacking force was fortunate enough to have 10 Det'aan Findsmen. They were more highly trained then even the best of the Det'aan Warriors. Admiral Siather wasn't even a Det'aan Findsmen. He had never taken the time to go through the training. The Findsmen cut around the outer edge of the battle quickly and silently. They crouched by some trees and set up their snare rifles. Once ready they silently moved toward the Vong "tanks" while the Det'aan warriors and Stormtroopers cut down more Vong and the snipers picked off more.

A snap and a wail was heard coming from the right of the cascading armies, whilst the Yuuzhan Vong seemed to be getting cut down remarkably easily. There was of course...one other inherint difference in these Vong...their blood was not the blackish ooze that had been seen in previous battles.

Rather now, they were spraying greenish plasma across the rocks and stones while the storm troopers agan began to press forward. However this time as the lines were hacked through...they were retreating, being closely pursued by the death white suits, wreething for their pathetic lives.

Vong do not run...

As the storm troopers pursued however, the Rogue Imperial fighters had triggered yet another trap...this time sending another large portion of their army into a scattered hole, with several writhing amphistaves at the bottom.

[b]And yet, the Vong had now retreat to a cave...hiding...hiding from the infidels.

The Det'aan warriors were fortunate enough that their perception was higher then that of the humans. The Vong had failed to surprise any of them with their trap. The Stormtroopers on the other hand didn't fair so well.

Meanwhile up aboard the Zealous Mist Admiral Det'aan studied the information before him. The Vong weren't fighting as well as he had expected but that didn't mean they weren't hurting his forces. The traps they had laid were well planned for the limited time they had. Siather was releaved to find that the troops the Emperor had send were now arriving. They didn't have the training the Mist Fleet's compliment had against the Vong but the majority of them were highly trained. The reinforcements consisted of 20,000 Commandos, 5,000 Stormtroopers and 5 PeFauna.

"Captain order the Det'aan warriors and Stormtroopers to fall back until the reinforcements and myself reach them."

Siather headed for the Myst Angel and started to head for the planet behind the dropships full of Rouge Imperial forces.

Elsewhere behind the Vong camp the Det'aan Findsmen were studying the Vong trying to determine who the leader was. It seemed to the Findsmen that the Vong themselves had yet to attack the Rouge Imperial and Det'aan Forces. Which made sense because the Findsmen had observed the stormtroopers cutting down the fake Vong with little difficulty which wasn't consistant with known facts of the Vong. Not to mention the Vong retreated. That didn't seem right either. The Findsmen sent a report directly the Myst Angel for Siather to read only. Although he had no authority over them they respected his abilities and knew he would use the information better then anyone else.

The Dropships started to touch down and thousands more troopers and commandos started flooding out to meet up with the waiting Rouge Imperial forces, the PeFauna leading them. The Myst Angel put down about 2 klicks behind the Rouge Imperial Line and the Admiral unloaded a speeder bike. He put the Angel on standby and engaged the security measures setting them to maximum. If anything came within 100 meters of the Sentinel it would be vapourized by one of the many weapons. If anything managed to get aboard the air would be removed to create a vacuum. The security measures were not perfect but the would prevent a lot of attempts to steal the ship. The Admiral jumped on the bike and got it moving full speed to the Rogue Imperial Line. He arrived quickly and hopped of the speeder bike. He read the report from the Findsmen which confirmed his suspicion. He Moved to find the PeFauna and the commanding Det'aan Warriors.

The Chazrach-Vong mimics had returned after successfully fulfilling the job so willfully assigned to them by Terelen Domain Dwamor. Their bodies had been scathed and deranged by war, a glory to any manifestation of Yun-Yuuzhan.

A nip of pride beckoned at the back of the commander's mind as he looked over the survivors. They did not count to many, but they were enough for the next phase of the battle. His sullied eyes gazed up and down the magnitude of bodies, and his feet preceding tiny taps that echoed throughout the cave.

The infidels had withdrawn, and thus the battle was still at a stalemate, and perhaps that would be enough time to set up the defenses to repel the Rogue Empire, and perhaps even come in contact with his uncle...get more forces...and run out the Rogue Empire once and for all.

"Our biggest dilemna is the abhorrents in space above us," one of the Yuuzhan Vong infantry brought up, a well known and common shared thought amongst the warriors. The Star Destroyers could easily bombard the surface if the storm troopers and "undead" were forced into a withdrawl.

"I know this Net Miongo, but that is why we must hold here until my uncle arrives, maybe move out away from their abominatory 'scanners'. Our tanks can hold off the infantry for a time...we must rely on my uncle though," Terelen reasoned, and he could only wonder how pathetic he looked in the eyes of Yun-Yammka. But the thought of the warrior deity sent a sudden grin coursing his lips.

An honor duel....

"That's it," he said suddenly, running a clawed hand over his tatooed, nearly hairless head. His statement caught the attention of all those around him, even the stupid Chazrach. "An honor duel...I'll duel their commander for soverignty of the planet."

****************************************************

A cool wind wisped up and smacked the perfectly shaped body of the Warmaster-kin. Exquisitely deformed and misshaped, Terelen Domain Dwamor flexed his muscles in spectacular delight as he made for the edge of the cliff they had barricaded.

He found his way up toward the top, knocking asside rocks and sticks as he made forth.

When the younger warrior had finally made his way to the top, he flexed again, showing the storm trooprs something they had never seen before. The Vong was enormous, at least six foot ten, with tatoos and scars unrivaled.

"Bring to me," he yelled out in a booming voice. "the greatest of your kin! Let me duel them in combat for determination of this battle!"[b] His basic was slightly tattered, but the tizowyrm was ready to translate the infidels' speech to him.

The Stormtroopers looked at each other and the PeFauna slightly confused. It seemed to them that the Vong wanted to fight just one, their best. Most of them immediately looked to the PeFauna others looked at some of the Det'aan warriors with whom they had just fought. Admiral Det'aan glared at the Vong from near the front of the crowd. He looked at it from head to toe. It was covered in scaring and tatoos, something Siather had come to expect of the Vong. The Gandish Admiral pulled out his Bak'taar from its place making sure that it made a good noise on the way out of it's sheath. Some of the Stormtrooper around turned at the sound and stared at the massive knife. The crowd started to part respectful of his rank. The Vong looked down at the massive Gand standing at 6'2" he was among the tallest of his species. Siather passed his dual DL-44's off to a nearby Det'aan Warrior as well as his slug thrower sniper rifle.

"I will accept your challenge."

Siather cast the majority of his uniform aside to reveal 186 pounds of muscle plus approximately another 40 pounds of exoskeleton, a Gands most useful advantage over most species. It was stronger then stormtrooper armor. Siather tossed his Bak'taar from one had to another it was quite heavy because it was made of highly refined meleenium making it slightly stronger then normal durasteel. The Det'aan Bak'taar was among the heaviest and biggest of the tribes. Every tribe had a different type of blade. It was large at 20" long, from the tip to about 10" down the blade was an extremely sharp diamond tipped blade. From 10" down to approximately 4" from the bottom was heavily seraited alternating at 2" intervals from hooking up to point straight out to hooking down. At the 4" point the blade returned to a diamond tipped edge for another 2" where it suddenly came to an abrupt point. From there it looped 1.5" up before coming down to connect with the handle, basically forming a 3.5" hook of solid sharpened durasteel. The handle was intricately carved to represent years of victories against other tribes and starting to recieve carvings based on the strife between the Det'aan and the Vykyll Tribes. The end of the handle was touched off with a Lowickan Firegem. Siather approached the Vong and let a grin spread across his face. He would finish this 'thing' off quickly.

OOC:know what, this is getting stupid. You cant duel with Saither for the planet for all I care, he doesn't own it, I do. He doesn't even have any minor control over it. So if Saither wins, he doesn't get the planet, if Chadd wins, he doesn't get the planet. In the end, i still keep the planet. So this duel is kind off stupid. Their is no reason to it. You don't get control of the planet if you win the duel, i still have it. Go ahead a kill one of you off. Chadd controls what happens in the end. I am suspecting that the whole thing was set up so that he could get Ylesia for TRE. You really tipped your hand here Chadd. You want the planet. I already knew that OOC, know i can use this duel to my advantage IC. Your really just making me suspicious and ready to kill whoever wins the duel, if they attack me. And no i won't be participating in a duel if any one challenges me. You can't turn that to your advantage a steal one of my ships like you did to TCS, Mon Cals, Quarren and humans prefer to have commanders alive, not died from some foolish duel.

OOC Actually Snowkan, I have gone well past 5000 words, and I'm just playing it as it develops, and the Mon Cals have not put up a single fight worth a damn in days, so technically I could end it now and say the Vong took the planet, but I haven't, so shaddap. I don't think I've seen a single Mon Cal attack this mountain, it's only Rogue Imperial troops dying thank you very much.

Terelen Dwamor gripped the amphistaff given to him by his uncle with great pride and joy, showing his teeth with feral rage at the Gand down below, he was pleased with the honor he was willing to throw himself to, for Yun-Yammka and Yun-Yuuzhan.

"You Undead," he shouted at recognizing the inside out skeleton. "bring honor to you and the Rogue Empire, I am honored to duel a worthy one such as yourself!"

He leapt from his rock and landed with a resounding thud as he landed before the Gand, sweeping out his amphistaff with an excited blow.

"Well warrior...let's see it."

"Order groups of ten warriors to scout out ahead and around the mountains. Especially to the south, where we heard the sounds of battle coming from."
"Yes sir."
The assigned troops went off to search for the Vong on the ground. One group came along died bodies of Yuuzhan Vong and stormtroopers. The quickly moved on and saw the Vng warriors.
"Lord Snowkan, we have found the enemy. Their leader is fighting Saither, of TRE. None of the forces seem to be interfering, so i suggst that we don't interfer wih the duel. The two sides are not firing fighting at the moment, they seem to be watching the battle. The two sides seem to be out of range of eachc other. The enemy "tanks" can shoot downward at us, and if our nowledge of Vong technolidgy is worth anything, they propably use plasma that will get pulled down by gravity. They are near the peak, so i suggest that we just use our snetenials, instead of bringing in the tank droids."
"Thank you for the report. Stay where you are and watch the fight. All other squads, come back here."
The troops started to come back to the main center of operations. Once they were all back, Lord Snowkan got back on the com.
"To the sentenials in orbit, please come and shoot the Vong's big ground vehicles for us."
"Sure thing boss, coming right away."
The thirty sentenial shuttles zoomed down the the planet, and the mountain where the Vong where. They had a wonderful array of weapons, four laser cannons, two concussion missile launchers, with a bay of eight missiles each, one ion cannon and two rotating repeating blasters. The ion cannon wouldn't have a lot of effect on a Yuuzhan Vong vehicle, but it might be able to fry a warrior from its energy empluss(sp). The sentenials roared down on the tanks, firing madly with their weapons. Concussion missiles filled the air, the battle was raging. Ten Yuuzhan Vong warriors and two tanks were killed in the first pass.

OOC:now complain i haven't made a decent fight.
