A Fateful Turn Pt. II-Ylesia's Epilogue

OOC NOTE

This RP is based after the events that transpired and the Alliance's jump into the system. Everything picks up right where we left off, I just want a bit more order, and I want it to be the big, epic battle I originally planned it on being.

Rules

All posts must be clean, well spaced, minimal errors, and no sentence fragmenting. There must be sufficient numbered words, and it must be easy to understand. No ridiculous kills either, I think I shall set a 200 word minimum per post.

The Story

The withdrawl of the Yuuzhan Vong flotilla left a hootering cheer in all the spirits around the massive battle, but to say that it was a victory was truly a lie. There were close to no losses from the strang aliens, and the fact that they had destroyed a Super Star Destroyer and countless other war craft was leaving a damp taste in the mouths of those around them. Still there were two remaining Vong Cruisers, but certainly not enough to take on entire warfleets.

Warmaster Zhin Dwamor had left personally aboard his Worldship Yamka with the great War Coordinator, the Yammosk. It was uncertain where the Praetorite Vong had fled to, but it was certain that they had not finished with Ylesia, if anything they had just begun.

And even now, the battle rages on the ground between the two forces, Yuuzhan Vong...Gand...human...Mon Cal, all together in one ferocious combat in an attempt to decide who would truly take the planet.

*****************************************************

The Chazrach and Vong had pulled themselves off of the Storm trooper and Mon Cal forces in what appeared to be almost a retreat. The commander had been slain, and the Yuuzhan Vong now looked up to one of the warmaster's own kin, Captain Teledak Dwamor. The Rogue Imperial forces had not bothered giving chase to the fleeing Vong, but rather prepared themselves for another, potential onslaught by their forces.

The Mon Cal generals had been made aware that several armored vehicles and a good thousand or so more Yuuzhan Vongh had been dispatched approximately five hundred klicks out, and could possibly unite with the Vong. That is...if they could find them.

Teledak Dwamor currently was in the lead of the fleeing warriors, and after losing a good hundred Chazrach and forty warriors, he knew massive onslaught was going to get them nowhere. With their prefect killed...well, it seemed the gods were not so esteemed as the Warmaster had imagined.

They fled deep into the mountains, where the Rogue Empire had not bothered chasing, and it brought a hint of joy to the Vong, knowing that they could set up quite the military installation there to defend themselves should the infidels choose to pursue at all.

Amongst the twisting, turning caves that they had sought refuge in, the several hundred Yuuzhan Vong warriors that had been taken with them sneered with angry snarls at the Warmaster's kin for ordering the withdrawl, their thirst for blood outweighing their hunger for survival.

"You took away our victory Teledak!" one of the warriors cursed, specifically insulting the young Yuuzhan Vong by calling him out by his first name. Teledak Dwamor shot him a deciding glare, which managed to cease any more pointless jabbering or finger pointing.

"We canno stand here and point fingers, the infidels were more ready than we expected,"the commander growled, slamming his fist into the cave's wall, smeering blood against it and shattering stone from his mighty thrust. "We came here to recuperate and launch a major offensive that will gain us more honor and crush their lines without the possibility of reinforcements on their part."

"But why flee? We were ready to die there!"one of the warriors spoke up, standing from one of the cold, marbel rocks.

"And makes yourselves useless for the upcoming battle? Why die foolishly in the first wave when you can die with honor in the assault that crushes them?"

There was a lingering silence about the formerly empty caverns as the commander did indeed have quite a point. He felt his lips curl into a sneer at the thought of dishonor through retreat...it was not a cowardly retreat, it was organization.

"How many Chazrach were returned?"he demanded suddenly.

It took a moment, but one of the intendent's rose and bowed before the commander. "Potent One, we have found that one hundred seventy two remain of the two hundred dispatched."

Stroking his chin, the Warmaster's kin pondered those odds.

"We shall formulate a strategy using these Chazrach."

****************************************************

Commander Yultook was in command of the two remaining Light Cruisers who had been renamed Incarnate and Desperation for the time being. Hundreds of turbo laser shots managed to smeer out from the enemy craft, but were easily dodged or absorbed by dovin basals. The faster moving craft even managed to void themselves away from the enemy craft, allowing the turbo lasers to collide against the opposing craft, such as MC300 that the leader of the Mon Cal was aboard.

Plasma was shot back in return, but not at full scale, rather attempting to scare the infidels out of attempting to destroy them. It would not work in the long run of course, but it would work for the time being.

Commander Yultook cast a glaring stare on the Yuuzhan Vong priests around him, whom had simply ceased their chanting to the gods, which had particularly enraged him. But he needed to divulge in the combat situation, as to come out with the greatest possible glory for Yun-Yuuzhan.

Peering at the polygonal arrays of his command chamber, the commander fought hard to keep from breaking his own teeth through the forceful gritting he insued. There was a bulbuous gurgle from the ship itself as more yorik coral blasted off from turbo laser blasts.

"Bring the ship around behind that giant one,"[b]he ordered, feeling himself foremostly insulted by the abomination. It was the largest, mechanical station and battle ship he had ever seen, it was foreboding the greatest insult possible. To fight with such mechanical terror truly forbade righteousness.

There was a gravitic anomaly, the opening of a quick wormhole, and then the transmerging behind the mighty Archammer. With the Incarnate using its dovin basals to keep the fools from hyperspacing out, and was far enough away to keep from being blasted apart by the rivaling fleet.

Due to its incredible size, the Archammer prooved to be a perfect shield, and the blasts from all the fighters, New Alliance, Iron Fist, Rogue Imperial, and Mon Cal alike began eating away at the shields on it. Of course it was only menial damage, for the moment, it was still enough to annoy the craft.

And with the dovin basals eating away at the rear shields, the engines were slowly making themselves prime targets for plasma damage by the light cruiser. The infidels were unlike the Yuuzhan Vong...where they were to depend on propulsion and ionic mass, thus creating blindspots in their huge ships...like the Archammer, who could fire maybe one or two laser blasts every once and a while at the Yuuzhan Vong cruiser, whereas they could blast at all times in all places.

Furthermore they proved to be a perfect shield...it was no doubt completely annoying the Admiral aboard the Eclipse-Class Super Star Destroyer.

The remaining frigate was proving too be a major problem for the large fleet. Using the Archammer as cover and doing some damage to it in the mean time. Greyy Trespe was not about to let these ships make fools of this fleet.

In a commique to all ships. "To all ship engageing the enemy break off, assign your fighters to theys coordinates among our ships we do not want to catch each other in a cross fire like this!" The vong were playing them off each other.

Their sheilds seemed to just sucking all off the energy that hit them. "Why are we not puting a dent in it tactical!" greyy called out.

"The ships are just obsorbing the shots sir I have never seen any thing like it." the officer adds.

All things have their limits if you hit them enough. " All fighters stick to your assigned blocks. If they leave your block let another take over."

The Tie defenders and Tie advance fighters were starting to corral the two ships. forceing them to swerve to avoid one group of fighters and then another. The vong ships staying away from a heavy assaults. The vong returned fire sporadically. Firing wildly to spook the ships. The larger lancers and legacy ships took some direct hits. But with so many targets non off the shots disabled any on the craft. Several fighters were caught by stray fire. But a over whelming amount of return fire from The fast agile fleet fighters made direct hits on their ships "shield"s.

"power up the inderdictor cruiser. If we are going to be stuck here so are they." This is a oppertunitty to study a enemy he would not miss.

"Concentrate the smaller ships on taking those craft out. The 4 lancers from the third and two legacy class cruisers stay on them maintain sustained fire." The lancers are all armed with quad laser cannons they are made for precision shooting against enemy fighters. The smaller craft should have no trouble keeping pace with those ships.

The lancers maintain a box formation in pursuit of the vong craft. A squad of X- wings delivers a volley of Proton torps at one of the ships as they try to pull another fancy dodgeing manuver around the archammer. The torps connect connsecutivelly in the same general area. Most of the effects are swallowed by the dovin basils but one of the torps connected in a spot that the lancers had been focusing on. The proton torpedo went through unchallenged detonating on the hull.

The explosion rocked that ship. taking some of the sheilding in that area of the hull.

:: Every thing has a limit. :: The Freedom guard commander thought to him self.

"All bombers innitiate bombing runs on those ships now. I want them hit in waves and I do not want them to have the time to recover!!" He orders. Logan was in command of the Archammer. The guards man did not envy the man for having to deal with the cacophany of ships from different groups. The coordination would give even him a challenge. Well the smaller craft were his concern.

The TNA fleet was boxing the vong in with fighter craft. Every move the vong made they ran towards fighter craft weapons discharge in the form of torps and laser fire. "No where left to run." He states.

So the infidels had learned, so they had thought they'd found a way to extract a weakness by boxing in the Praetortie Vong craft and keeping them in one position via Interdiction field. By all means and tactics, it was a beautiful strategy that would have destroyed any infidel fleet.

Any infidel fleet. This was no infidel fleet...and the Yuuzhan Vong rather were not about to let this dampen their plans. The dovin basals, though tiring exhaustibly, still had plenty of juice left, and if the interdictor was suddenly creating similar gravitic anomalies...

***************************************************

The Yuuzhan Vong war commander snarled in protest and open defiance as the priests continued to flood in the information of the battle against the Archammer and the rest of the Alliance and infidel forces. A sneer was a common sight upon his hideous, misfigured face, and he was prepared to inflict return damage to these fools for their rupture.

The interdiction field had prevented them from creating their voids of interstellar travel, but rather there was a new strategy abroading to mind, and it seemed to be better than crushing the enemy through plasma rain. Rather the Praetorite Vong would rely on smarts...not brawn.

A telepathic link with the rest of the battle provided a full detail of what the space held for Commander Yaltook and his minions...his coral skipperless minions.

Deactivating their gravity bubble, the two light cruisers pulled themselves drastically toward the Interdictor that was stopping them with similar gravity manipulation. Plasma was shot in return to laser fire, and several fighter craft that attempted to swarm the Yuuzhan Vong were destroyed in sheer retaliation.

Their blasters were not fast enough to get by the Dovin Basals.

It took a moment for the ships to calibrate themselves appropriately, and after reallocating their gravity consuming dovin basals, the other craft were quite capable of launching a relentless turbo laser assault on the two yorik coral craft. However those turbo lasers that missed only skidded across the mighty interdictor.

Do not send a machine to do nature's jobthe commander thought with a persistant smile. The dovin basals pushed all they had against the anti-gravity that attempted to keep the two craft there.

Attempting to open the void as well as seer several more black holes from the little creatures, an intense blackhole was opened directly next to the interdictor, not only decimating the shields, but crumbling the hull all the while.

Abolishing the weapons and gravity well systems, the Yuuzhan Vong had thus opened their way to a clear shot away from the New Alliance, and used their dovin basals to create another void, this time jumping approximately nine klicks away from the four fleets massed to destroy the whole two craft.

Again the anomalies were made, creating an interdictor like bubble, vindicating the distribution of hyperspace travel.

******************************************************

Discontent had begun to boil in the camp the Yuuzhan Vong had set up under the command of Warmaster Zhin's kin, Teledek Dwamor. The Yuuzhan Vong were still embroiling at the fact that they were forced into a retreat, but after much lecturing, the young commander had proved his finese and wittingess in combat.

They had worked insistantly on defenses alone, setting up large structures of rock and stone to hold off infidel counter strikes should they choose to pursue into the mountains.

Though the great slopes provided an excellent natural defense, it would be close to nothing if it was not extracted to its full capabilities.

Thudbug caches had been set up all along the perimeter, and massive trenches were dug into the sides all along the new fortress of the Yuuzhan Vong. If the Rogue Empire and Mon Cal were to come back in force...they would have a fight awaiting them.

As the sun rayed off his bald, tatooed head, Teledek Dwamor beat rigorously at the laboring work of preparing defenses, as did his reptoid Chazrach around him, attempting to prepare for a potential, ferocious battle.

Traps had been set up using amphistaves that would leap out at nearing opponents, and even some were being used to launch their poisonous venom into unsuspecting enemies' eyes.

His muscles flexed with every blow of his hands or tools against the stone as he too worked hard for his people, and his beliefs.

"Something's coming!"one of the Yuuzhan Vong sentires suddenly reported. "Something from the sky, it looks as if it's a...a..."

As the alien, Yuuzhan Vong turned their heads in unison to peer up at the sky, they saw an incinerated MC300 Mon Cal Cruiser plummeting from the atmosphere, directly toward the planet itself. Most likely slain early on in the battle, it was pouring down on the planet after being caught up in its gravitational pull.

A snarl of excitement ran up Teledek's face as he spun to face the outerside of "Bloody Plain" as it was nicknamed now, only to see what he had expected...the other Yuuzhan Vong attack force moving directly toward the mountain defenses.

"Tell all the MC-300 to power up gravity well generators."
"Yes sir."
"Get missile locks on the first cruiser."
"All missiles have locks on the cruiser."
"Fire."
Tons of missiles voomed away at the first cruiser. They would lock on and not hit any other ships. The MCR and IFE forces moved away from the first cruiser, so that a missile would not hit them. The IFE ships got locks on the second cruiser and fired on it. The forces moved away from the two cruisers, but blocking off escape routes with their gravity well generators. The MC-300 falling towards the planet, was the original Star's Delight. It tumbled faster and faster towards the planet. It hit on the edge of the Yuuzhan Vong warriors camp, killing mst of them. The shockwaves plowed into the large force toppling some of them. Then came the fighters. 500 Shadow Droids flew down to the surface, firing missiles at large enemy ground creatures and firing laser cannons at the rest. Many Yuuzhan Vong and Yuuzhan Vong creatures were killed.

OOC:why don't you just keep on posting in the other thread?

OOC Attention Snowkan, that was in direct violation of the rules. I specifically said no pathetic, outrageous kills such as that. Furthermore, you have no fighters left. The only action that really worked in your post was turning on the gravity wells.

Teledek raised a proud, clawed, fist above his head in triumph as per the near completion of his "fortress" to repel the infidels had they chosen to pursue the Yuuzhan Vong. He ran his hands up and down the scaly amphistaff that was his weapon of choice, it reeled in his hand with all its exquisitive delight.

His eyes wandered to the dawning horizon that brought forth the daylight upon this side of the planet, planet Ylesia. He placed one, strength powered foot upon a boulder near his small, cave dwelling. Deep, sullied eyes examined the battle front, where soon they would overrun and ultimately destroy the Rogue Imperial presence in the "Bloody Plains".

"For Yun-Yamka...and Yun-Yuuzhan, we shall claim victory in this battle,"he muttered, using a jagged stone to scar his own chest in glory to the gods. Blood trickled down his torso, reaching his loincloth and ultimately smeering his body with the disgusting, yet joyous ritual.

For the glory of Yun-Yuuzhan!

*******************************************************

Yaltook grimaced as the hundreds of missiles emitted from the mechanical launchers that were placed aboard the remnants of the Mon Cal Fleet. The tiny projectiles came at incredible speeds, but only to detonate themselves five klicks away from the Vong cruisers.

The fools have a range on their weapons...

Interdiction capability was apparently not only brought forth by the Yuuzhan Vong, but was discovered by these infidels...yet in disgusting quantities spewed forth by mechanics. Were they so incompetent as to rely entirely on the artificial to do what only nature could provide?

Fools.

LISTEN AND LISTEN GOOD

Snowkan, the ships are not destroyed, that was flat out god moding on Logan's part.

1) The super laser was never charged.

2) The ships are BEHIND your sorry ass

3) The MC300s have their gravity wells on

4) You cannot use newly constructed craft in this post.

It ends here, if this is not resolved and posts are editted, the planet will be AUTOMATICALLY forfeited to the YV.
