I was wondering, do you guys have alot of hackers on WoW? The multiplayer game I play is over run with them and I was just wondering how it was on something that was alot more popular, like WoW

As in people getting their accounts breached and what not? In my experience I'd say surprisingly there isn't much. I have known a few people to get their accounts hacked with their gear being "disenchanted" which is basically another way of deleting it for those not WoW-savvy.

Lately, the amount of ingame spamming has increased several times over I've noticed, which is very annoying. Geting random tells from people talking about gold and powerleveling sales, etc.

Another scheme I found recently was that people would go around posing as someone else, say a former guildmate, and talk to others as if they were friends and they'd get the person to give up their account info. I saw that happen to a few different people, which resulted in disenchanted gear and that kind of thing.

I play on a low-population server so perhaps there are bigger problems with hacking and such on larger servers. But from my experience it really doesn't seem like it's that much of an issue.

I've been thinking about re-installing the game, partially because I miss it, partially because I know some people who are playing it now whom I want to help out.

no, I mean, in the game I play people use hacks to gather monsters in one spot, suck up items on the ground, fly around the screen, get into people's inventory and shops to take items and basically make it a pain in the ass for people who play without hacks...

As far as things go, Wow is a pretty exploit-free experience, so to answer your question . . . no.

The only things you really worry about are botters, gold-spammers and idiots.

Ya I've never witnessed anything like that. I've heard the complaints of people being able to do weird stuff like walking through walls and that type of thing during player vs. player combat. But I think that's more the case of someone getting legitimately beaten then coming up with an excuse afterwards.

But like I said I've never really come across anything like that.
