By the way, Kas.

Yes, slavery is something from the past, a mistake made by many hundreds of greedy people, from the past. Yes, there are problems today because of what those people did, and it is something that needs to be dealt with, however, affirmative action is an incredibly stupid and biased way to do it.
You know what, Kas? I agree with you. Let's not do affirmative action.

Instead, let's just take a cue from the civil justice system and try reimbursing all of the black people for their ancestor's unpaid labour. I mean, obviously, you can't put a price on a man's freedom and right to equality, let alone back-breakingly hard labor in unthinkably harsh conditions. But @#%$, I'm going to try.

How does $500,000 per person sound?

Like they might just have to hold off on forgetting about Afghanistan and Iraq for a while...

Thank you, that'll be all.

Er, right. Thanks for proving a personal point.

Well, let's see. You just posted a song about a time where everyone was nice, and respectful -- and extremely racist segregationists. So "pigmentation" might sort of come up, yeah.

No. I posted a song that is a tribute to the people of a time gone by. The song does not glorify the racism of the time, it says thanks for the good things the people did, and compares it to the modern day. So take your if you ain't white phrase, and shove it far, far away. Thanks.
I'm glad you asked, Kas. Let's say, for instance, and this is just a random example, you kidnap an entire race of people and subject them to harsh labor with no rights. After you abolish slavery, you continue to force them to live seperate to you and make them second class citizens. Then, once you stop that, you continue to discriminate against them when it comes to job openings and education because, lo and behold, after a couple hundred years of segregation and slavery, the oppressors run an awful lot of @#%$! Giving them a bit of help when it comes to university admissions, in that instance, is called equality.

Uh, no. Equality is when two people, regardless of color, are given an even chance and the best man wins. The word you're groping for is favoritism. It's racism plain and simple when an employer is forced to hire a black man instead of a white man simply because the black man is black.

It's like this. If you treated everyone the same, you would just tell a person in a wheelchair to walk the @#%$ up the steps like everyone else. Would that be equality? No, of course not. That would be discrimination. So you build wheelchair access routes.

So you're saying that being black is the same as being physically disabled?

Wait, wait. Christianity... hell... sin and damnation forever... god hates fags... world was created in seven days and I want it taught in school or America will go to hell... Jean Chretien and Pierre Trudeau (I don't expect you to know who they are) will burn forevermore... nope, I'm thinking of the right one.

No, you have the wrong one. I thought you would have picked up on that by now, sheesh, I've been here for over a year, do you see me running around yelling "GOD HATES FAGS! DAMNATION UPON YOU YOU CUSSING BLASPHEMER! HELLFIRE AND BRIMSTONE FALL ON YOUR HOUSE FOR THINKING THOSE THOUGHTS YOU PORN WATCHING SICKO.

I mean, come on.

My god, I certainly hope so, Kas. America has been the biggest bully on the playground quite long enough.

You mistake me. Let me reiterate: The moral values of the world are shot. The world is heading down the road to Rome. The US is one of the pioneers, Canada right behind them.

I get what you are trying to say, Kas. And in a more perfect world, the answer would be yes. But unfortunately, it's not a perfect world as Drayson brings out:

Quote:
...because the poor single mother wasn't able to bring in any money because she was a good Christian woman who stayed

[/quote]
The single mother syndrome is a problem based off of our corrupt society. You didn't see nearly as many single mothers with multiple children when everyone wore hats as you do now, did you?

Explain. How is going into a country far removed from America, targetting their civilian infastructure, killing tens of thousands of innocent people, sending more than a thousand US soldiers to their deaths, and failing to even gain control of the country despite "Mission Accomplished" being declared five and a half months ago (and note that more than 1000 of those who had died since then) less evil than not doing all that?

I wasn't aware that the US has massacred tens of thousands of civilians in any major conflict recently, you are speaking of the attack on Iraq, yes?

Drayson is entirely correct here. I mean, if we are going to target their civilian infrastructure, kill tens of thousands of innocent people, and send more than a thousand US soldiers to their deaths (and counting), the least we can do is actually take the bloody country.

The death of a thousand soldiers is, here comes the shocker, absolutely nothing when compared to the battles of the past. We fought an entire war, excuse me, we rolled over Saddam's army in record time, and have to an extent secured the battleground with less than a thousand people on our side dead. Not to be callous to the families of those who have lost loved ones, but that's pretty cheap. Weren't the democrats moaning about how many years it would take, and the tens of thousands of US lives that would be lost? When you compare this to wars of the past, this is nothing more than a skirmish.

You know what, Kas? I agree with you. Let's not do affirmative action.

Good to know we agree. That'll be all.

Dolash, yes, this thread is about a song I like. The kicker is that this song glorifies things I value in a society, yet Theren says good riddance about - thus the argument.

No @#%$, Kas. But that's not what happening. What's happening, is that empoyers are saying "Sorry, we don't think your the right col- person for the job." to the Black man.

That's racism.

Their not getting their 'even chance', the blacks are refused by default.

So you're saying that being black is the same as being physically disabled?

Kas, that has got to be one of the stupidest things I heard you say... you and I both know that Theren was not implying that disabilities and being black are not the same thing.

It's a comparison, and he's right. Thank you for completely ignoring what he was saying.

No, you have the wrong one. I thought you would have picked up on that by now, sheesh, I've been here for over a year, do you see me running around yelling "GOD HATES FAGS! No, Kas. But that's what you believe, isn't it? You're a devout follower of Christ*, so you share those beliefs. You just have enough sense not to run around screaming them, because you recognize that not everyone feels the same way as you do.

* I use the term Chirst follower as loosely as possible, since that is what you refer to yourself as. However, I do not believe that Jesus felt in such a way.

You mistake me. Let me reiterate: The moral values of the world are shot. The world is heading down the road to Rome.

No @#%$, eh? And which country is the most powerful militaristicly, economically, and technologically?

AMERICA!

America is leading the world down the road to Rome, isn't it Kas?

I wasn't aware that the US has massacred tens of thousands of civilians in any major conflict recently, you are speaking of the attack on Iraq, yes?

That's because you believe what CNN tells you to believe. Kas: since the Gulf War, 1.5 million people have died in Iraq due to the sanctions.

Who enforces these sanctions?

AMERICA!

Who refused to lift the sanctions despite repeated attempts by other nations?

AMERICA!

Who denied medial supplies, food, and even pencils, from entering Iraq during the last 10 years?

AMERICA!

And of course, you'll reply with "Who refused to spend money on his people and built more palaces instead?".

Saddam was not a good leader, Kas. We know that. We're not @#%$ stupid. But it was the US that enforced the sanctions, and it was the sanctions combined with Saddam that killed those people.

No sanctions would have meant there was enough money to go around. Never mind that the US targetted hospitals, water sanitation facilities, and power plants in BOTH Gulf Wars!

Kas, of those 1.5 million dead, between 5 and 7.5 million were under the age of 14. Imagine if this was happening in America.

The US would do all they could to stop it. But this is Iraq. It's an ocean away.

Who gives a @#%$... until we need more oil for our @#%$ SUVs.

The death of a thousand soldiers is, here comes the shocker, absolutely nothing when compared to the battles of the past. Wow. In one paragraph you disrespected a thousand dead soldiers who never should have been there in the first place, ignored every point I raised, and insulted the people of Iraq.

Amazing.

Kas, this war was not "cheap". It cost, and is still costing, billions of dollars. This money is coming from a nation that did not support the war, and is enough to guarantee food, shelter, and water, to every person on earth.

It is enough money to make massive steps in finding a cure to AIDS, cancer, and dozens of other diseases.

Instead, it's being spent to kill people.

And the Democrats may yet be right, Kas. "President" Bush told us that it was all over six months ago. But people are still dying, Kas!

Why is that?

Dolash, yes, this thread is about a song I like. The kicker is that this song glorifies things I value in a society, yet Theren says good riddance about - thus the argument.

So you do glorify racism, sexism, and oppression then. Thank you for admitting what we already knew...

I'm not going to waste perfectly good time sorting through that hideous post correcting your mistakes.

So you do glorify racism, sexism, and oppression then. Thank you for admitting what we already knew...

The least you could do is learn to read a post. Gah.

No. I posted a song that is a tribute to the people of a time gone by. The song does not glorify the racism of the time, it says thanks for the good things the people did, and compares it to the modern day.

Good day.
