I'm not degrading anyone who doesn't share my point of view. I'm degrading people who are idiots in general.

That being said, who are you to judge anyone for what they say and/or do? There is no reason in the world to degrade or put down anyone in the manner that you are doing simply because you don't like what they wrote. Be sensible about the situation, and instead of retorting back with some slight on their intelligence, be the bigger man and say nothing at all.

I could do that. But I decide not to. I feel that if someone does or says something outragiously stupid, there's every reason to call them on it. Why pretend like we're all happy, problem-free, big men? We're quite obviously not, and living in a fairy tale aint my idea of fun.

That's all well and good that you don't tolerate ignorance; I do not either, but there's a line the has to be observed when and if responding to someone who you happen to disagree with. Especially since this board belongs to someone else. I understand that a large majority of those who post here are Democratic, but that doesn't mean it's right to insult those who aren't - even if they say something that you don't like. If you have your own set of forums and whatnot you can run them however you want to, but here I think the general consensus is to at least try and be civil to one another.

I'm not saying that you need to pretend that everything is all roses and candies; I'm not so naive as to actually believe there won't be friction when you get a group of people together - be it online or in real life. I'm saying to be mature enough to know when to stop posting and drop a subject that has gotten out of hand without resorting to personal attacks.

At the very least take your problem(s) to PM if you feel you can't hold back any biting remarks on the subject of someone's intelligence.

Oh, I don't insult people because of how they vote. It's a free country... mostly.

I insult people who are fucking idiots.

My mention of the political leaning of TRF was mainly an example - it is freesh in everyone's mind still, and therefor more easily understood.

And I'm saying it's not your place to judge anyone on the level of their intelligence. If you don't like what they said, then either be mature about the situation and go about something that is more worth your time, respond with something other than a personal insult/flame (for instance, a logical rebuttle) or bring up the matter privately.

Very cute. You're not really helping your case all that much though. Seeing that you can't be reasoned with, I'm through trying to be logical. I've got better things to do than to continue with this arguing.

This is hardly an argument. You raise some fine points - I just disagree with them. I'm not saying you're wrong, just that if someone wants to call me an idiot I'm not going to do any of this "bigger man" stuff and shut up. I'll call them an idiot right back.

I could really care less if you respect me, Demos. In fact, I really don't want you to respect me.
