That there has been a lot of talk lately about starting another Rebellion style lightside group. I am willing to participate in such a faction, but until then, I am off to wage war against the Empire with just myself and my very few personal possessions.

But seriously, who here is interested in creating or joining a Rebellion style lightsided faction? Or possibly a neutral faction?

Don't expect an answer within ten minutes. It could be awhile before the people you need log in and see your post.

Wilkar
Do you have another character here?

I am very much interested to know that as well, since your character bio isn't all that informational.

I could certainly be convinced, but a "rebellion" would have to be done properly - for starters, what are you 'rebelling' against?

My knowledge of star wars canon/TRF history isn't perfect, but the original rebellion was formed in order to fight against an Empire that had seized control of the galaxy and was oppressing people. The point was, the Empire now controlled people's homes and they didn't like it, so soon after the Empire seized power, a rebellion was formed.

That was a long time ago IC. Now, there is the Empire, but it's not the Galactic Empire of the films, it's different. For one thing, it now has a rival: The Galactic Coalition (GC). The GC is the main lightside group around here.

Surely, anyone wanting to fight the Empire would be more likely to join TGC? Also, I said above that the "original" rebellion was founded soon after the Empire seized power. You seem to be suggesting that people have sat around for over a generation and then suddenly gone: "Hey, i've just noticed something: The Empire is horribly oppressing us, but I hadn't spotted that until now. Fancy rebelling?"

Possibly that's why Leia and Wilkar are wondering if you have another character here - that would show you understand these issues. Of course, I'm sure you've spotted the problems that I've raised above and I'd be very interested to hear your reply.

* Note: Since you've not replied to whether you have another character or not, I wrote all the basic details in my reply. If it turns out that you are Beff or Ankh or someone, then...well, no insult intended.

Time matters not in the formation of a Rebellion. Perhaps even though the Empire assumed control long ago, the time was just never right. The Jedi Order still stood strong, and the GC spread hope... but what of them now? The Jedi have fallen, the GC struggles against the vast might of the Empire...

It seems as though times once again grow desperate for the forces of light.
