Welcome to TRF 2.0
Well, it's here. After months and months of mentions, notes, promises, etc, it has finally come. And it's come about two weeks later than expected, so that we can do a larger update than simply saying "here's the new rules guys, enjoy". So, here we go.
1 - The new rules. These rules are, to understate it by quite a bit, a drastic shift for TRF. As you read through them you may notice that there is only one real rule, that being the #1 Rule. Yes, TRF has done it, and has nixed fleet building, and manifest keeping. However, to keep us from becoming a SWF clone, and loosing that 'TRF Touch', we have replaced it with what we hope is an intuitive, and engaging method for tracking asset quantities. We've also got some new rules for Groups, Characters, and the like. Read the rules to get a better picture, you can find them here.
Also, as a bit of an observation about how often people read our FAQ's, those rules have been in the FAQ's for the last two weeks, open for anyone to read. I encourage people to check the FAQ's often, or even write their own and send them to a Staff member for inclusion. The FAQ's are updated fairly often (for corrections) and receive actual information injections on occasion. We plan to do this on a more frequent basis.
2 - Galaxy Map. Grevious has created an official galaxy map for TRF. This will be used as the official reference for planet locations from now on. While all planets may not be on this list, (it would be impossible to list all of them) most of them are there. Grevious has generously committed to updating this list on a pseudo-regular basis, so if you make up any new planets or capture any not listed on the map, make sure to let him know. Since he's doing the planets list too, you could probably just put the information there. You can find this map here. Some of you may wish to check the status of who's surrounding you *cough*TGC*cough*.
3 - Biographies and History. We've added a new forum dedicated to containing biographies, and eventually, a complete history of TRF. Please make use of this forum, since it may become crutial as we adjust to the new rules. You can see the new forum, and a sticky giving more info here.
4 - Some new FAQ's. Browse the FAQ List, and take a peek. We have a few new entries, and more on the way. If you have any suggestions, send them on over.
5 - A Commitment. By the Staff, to make every effort to update the portal regularly, infuse new interests into the community, and do our best to make TRF a more enjoyable and active place. New features and skins are in the pipelines, ideas are bouncing off the walls and landing Seth's tea, and in general, we have high hopes.
