Who Says Rest is a Requirement of Vacations?

Cloud City, Bespin. A strange place, full of life, bright, cheery hallways, and no solid ground to stand on - except for in the hallways itself.

And yet, here she was, standing near a railing on a balcony, looking all about her, letting the never-ending breeze take her long brown hair go crazily about her. See saw nothing but the other towers of the city, and the orange clouds which containing the livlihood of many of the Tibanna gas miners who earned their livings here.

She was calm for the moment, at peace, but yet, her mind was going off in several directions at once. Not one trail of thought stuck for very long, but she didn't mind.

It was as if the breeze had taken her thoughts and twirled them about, teasingly, not letting her grab ahold of any for long.

Yeah, a vacation. After two nasty missions after being granted the title of knight, and it was about time for a breather.

And no, she wasn't exactly alone either. Another had been granted some time off, but, he hadn't been seen in the city yet. Yet.

Walking around Bespin, Tec felt as if he was permanently in the air.

He had received time off, thought it was hardly time off. Jedi never had breaks, and when they did, something always happened.

He walked up and down the corridors of the cloud station on Bespin, at the moment, looking for Raven. He was supposed to meet her here, somewhere, but in this great polace, he wasn't sure if he would find her.

His mind drifted to her, and then to Jerusha, and then to the Jedi Order, and then to other things, and this annoyed him. As he was walking down one hall, he spotted Raven at the other end, and called to her. "Raven!"

"Hey, you made it. What took you so long?" Raven laughed, looking up.

Raven then pulled something from her pocket, and tossed it over to Tec, who gave her a puzzled look.

"That's the Princess Leia rubber duckie, one of the earliest ever made of her in her old senatorial gowns, and danish hairdo. That one is one the most valued duckies in historical rubber duckie collecting. Worth two thousand credits so far. I found not only that one, but one more just like it for myself. Thought you could start a collection." Raven grinned as she finnished her explanation.

One of the many things she clearly intended on doing here, which was to add to her already diverse collection of rubber duckies. She so far had 200, well, now, 201, since she just included "Princess Leia" in it.

"We were sent here of all places for a vacation. The last time a Skywalker was here, all hell broke loose. Well, since I'm here, do you think that may happen?"

Tec looked at the rubber duckie real quick, and then said to Raven, "Well, what took me so long was that they noticed my lightsaber, and tried to get me to part with it; due to old problems. Of course, they didn't get it."

Tec opened his robes just enough to show her his lightsaber dangling from his tool belt.

"And thanks for the duckie, I may just start a collection, though I doubt it will get very big."

Then remembering her last question, Tec looked quizically at her, and then grinned. "The last time I went somewhere with you, I got you in a lot of pain. Hopefully, if anything happens here, you won't get hurt again; but in truthful answer to your question, yes, I do think something will happen, but not an all hell brake out."

Placing his new rubber duckie inside of his robes, Tec asked Raven what she wanted to dop first; saying her being a female and him a male gave her rights as to where they went.

He was glad that now, he was not a Padawan anymore, like he had been on his last mission with Raven before she became Shadow. His only mission with her, in fact....

"Well, they tried to do the same thing to me, but, I pulled out my ID. They saw my name, and quickly let me go. I guess they wanted to avoid any trouble with a Skywalker. Sometimes, it's an advantage to being related to people in high places. As for where to go, I have no actual idea." Raven shrugged her shoulders, and offered a laugh.

"Where did she go?" Daren yelled at the flight officer aboard of the Ossus hangar bay. The flight officer tried to act like he was not paying attention, but the rank of Major was not something easy to ignore, especially when he was a mere flight corporal. "Well?"

After punching a few more things into the datapad, the flight corporal sighed and looked up. "She says she left for Bespin on some vacation," he said. The commander's heart sank suddenly, and his knees grew a bit unsteady. He had tried to grow close to Raven over the weeks, but yet...now she was off...in Bespin and- "Apparently one Tec Fireheart went with her."

"Fireheart?!" Daren yelled in frustration. She had taken another man??

"Um...yes sir, now if you'll uh...excuse me, I need to er um...go fix some um...Y-Wing Torpedo tubes, bye!" with that the flight officer fled. Daren's eyes grew watery, and he made for his X-Wing he'd nicknamed War Hog.

The all too familiar clanking of his boots against the ladder reminded him of days during war time...of the CSA Assault on Etti IV. His eyes lulled about as the hatch to his @#%$ pit opened, and he leapt inside.

Sealing the vacuum tight hatch, he gripped the yoke stick and activated the engines quickly. I have to see her...

With that he took off, left the planet, and made way for the planet Bespin. He would be there soon.

Tec only frowned when she laughed. "It does pay to have family in high places, sometimes, but it also pays sometimes not to have any family at all."

Tec's mind was now far away from Besin. It was tweleve years in the past, on Corellia, in the back of a restuarant/bar/home. The same day his parents died.

He relived the horrible experience, and though it seemed like forever, again, it lasted only a moment. When it was done, he spoke.

"Well, I would say let's go to one of the casinos, but I don't think you want to do that....I don't really know where to go."

Then Tec looked down at her, and sighed.

"You know...what is your boyfriend going to say? I know he'll wonder where you've gone, most men would, and he may think I'm trying to steal you from him. Would you get in trouble?"

I know I would....

Raven's smile then faded, and she sighed.

"Yeah, I'd imagine he would be mad, but I'd doubt at me. Think about it. He'd be more likely be mad at you, instead. I'm possibly percieved as a sweet, innocent, well, you get the idea. It'll be hard for him to listen to an explanation." Raven replied.

Yeah, and he'd be pissed because I didn't tell him where I went.

"Well, casinos really don't sound appealing to me anyways. Could walk around and watch crowds of tourists like us until we figure it out." Raven added.

"Yeah, he would be a bit madder at me."

Then Tec slowly started walking, but where exactly, he didn't know where to go.

"And you know, just taking a walk sounds good to me. I had some kind of chicken or beans back there and it has made me feel....Weird is the only way to describe it."

"Yeah, true. I'm kinda restless at the moment myself." Raven replied, shrugging her shoulders.

"Well, who says rest is a requirement of vacations, anyways?" she then added.

Well, she hadn't been able to sit down anyways in the past few hours since she got here. All because a certain person wasn't there. That person would be able to find something to do in a bright, sunny, floating city, whenever she couldn't.
