The Mon Calamari looking to the stars (MCR takeover kamino)

The MCR was under the command of an inexperienced commander. He was nervous, inexperienced, but prepared.

Teebo was still gone, and he was required to prepare the MCR incase of a new attack from the empire.

They had never been good friends.

So he had sent a transport of diplomats to Karibo.

Why Karibo?

They seemed reasonable.

So his diplomats landed, his diplomats were welcomed, and his diplomats spoke:

"Hi"

And thus, did the Karibo Governor respond:

"Hi"

The Diplomats followed up with:

"How are you?"

And the Governor replied:

"Just fine"

So the negotiations began well.

The negotiations had hit a hurdle.

"You think youre' so great"

"How did they ever elect YOU as a governor!"

"How dare you mock our people!"

You see, the topic of swimming had come up at the negotiations table. Both the tall, gangly people of Kamino and the smaller, squishier people of mon cal had a different approach to swimming.

This lead to converstion, then debate, then an argument, then they had a bathroom break, then a brawl.

You see, each had different safety regulations and protocols around water. Now it had become a political nightmare that neither would agree on. Will the negotiators be able to surmount such a complexe issue? I doubt it. But just incase they do, we'll be back (Sorry, not much progress as I get only a tiny amount of computer time.)

The issue got bigger and bigger. Soon people started getting abit faschist.

This was started when a Mon Cal ambassador said "Oh yeah? Well who joined the Alliance, fought the emperor, and helped save the galaxy? do I hear of any great Kamino wars?"

He was then reminded of the clone wars.

Either way, things escalated until a quarren invented a droid capable of doing life-guard and rescue proceedures for all three involved races.

The issue was over. Now they entered into smaller things, like millitary proceedures and trade information.

The two races were getting along fine, socially speaking.

Until someone metaphoicly tipped the boat.

They had seemed to come to a peaceful soloution.

The Kaminos would join The noble Mon Calamari Republic, and get all the rights, protections, and privaledges provided, so long as they aide the Mon Calamari in times of war, provide economical support, etc.

This at first was agreeable. But then the planet got involved in bloody civil strife. Why? Some separatist group of Kamino people thought this put them as nothing but the servants of the Mon Calamari.

They started off by bombing the Kamino Governmnet house. Then the police came to quell it. That didn't work as well as planned because these kaminos were armed.

One bloody battle later, the Mon Cals used a unit of shocke troops to quell the rioters. The weapons were carefully analyzed and discovered to be highly dangerous to be shot with, as they might kill you.

Also, they were in vast supply. Surviving cloning labs deep beneath the surface were captured by the rebels, and old clones were, "REACTIVATED". These clones were armed, and trotted out to destroy the Mon Cal advance force.

So Kamino would not be a peaceful place for some time to come, and mothers wept for their doomed sons.

The Mon Calamari sent a vast shock infantry force to the surface of Kamino. These were well trained, well equipped, uber-warriors, experienced from the Jutraalian war. Each carried a rifle, a side arm, a suit of las-armour, equipment for varied environments, supplies, comms, everything. Each unit also had a transport/tank combination unit that supported them.

These troops deployed in a forward position, and let out such a spray of fire that the opposition was sent into an instantaneous retreat. Several of the ringleaders were captured, and the rest went underground. The Clones were hidden deep down, and everyone decided they could stay there for now. The Diplomats returned and continued their negotiations under the protection of the Troops.

But many Kamino were opposed to the Mon Calamari troops being posted on their world. They held protest marches and called their representatives to insist on the removal of ‘Fish Head’ troops on the double.

The Mon Calamari refused. They needed security, after the incident before, and were prepared to argue for it.

Negotiations were strained, and went on for several days, but now the deal was done.

But one city was displeased by this, and seceded from the Kamino government. This started more then alittle fuss, because a city just leaving like that could lead to anarchy. The negotiators went back to Kamino, to see if they could straighten things out. As they arrived they were greeted graciously, fed well, then their guards were killed and they were taken hostage.

The Kamino said they would kill the hostages unless the Mon Cals broke the treaty immediately. The Mon Calamari, forced to comply, accepted the demands. The treaty was broken.

Upon the safe return of the hostages, a military police unit broke into the city and arrested all of the city leaders. They were tried with treason, and were locked up. The negotiators once again returned, this time under much heavier guard. They insisted that the old treaty be reinstated.

It was done, and for now, the shaky peace held.

The kamino adapted to this "martial law" which had been instated. But it resulted in many fights breaking out. And I mean many. Several soldiers are killed in accidents or fights with the locals. The situation worsend until an explosion on waterfront property was blamed on several members of the kamino police force.

Then, finally, When things were at its worst in Kamino-Mon Cal relation, the clones we reawoken by activists. The rebellion of Kamino was back.

The battles were fiercer, as they were less prepared this time. The clones stormed the Central Envoy, and shot several important Mon Cal.

After that, they fled underground. none could find them, and investigations ended.

They decided that the rebels could just stay there then, if they chose to. The Rebellion Of Kamino had surprisingly ended before it had even begun.

Now everyone held their breaths in a hope for a new peace to come.

After some time, the Mon calamari decided to build a Mon Calamari and Quarren city on the surface of Kamino, so as to facilitate any future deals or needs.

A team of master architects were sent, who studied the build of the older Mon Calamari floating cities. They began calling in the labour and parts to build it. Slowly they chose a good place, in a spot between the equator and the north. There they started construction, from the top of large floating transports. They built slowly and laboriously adding detail to each part of the basic city. More work went into it. This was the first step in the melding of the two cultures.

Soon the city was finished enough to allow the first Mon Calamari settelers. Many came immeadietly and happily, what with peace between the two people. Homes were built by hard-working Mon Calamari workers, walls lifted, this ‘n that set up, it was marvalous to watch, these happy industrious people. The City was named New Reef Town, after the fresh coral reef it was built above.

First the homes were built, being large, rectangular affairs with bubbles and hot/cold water, lavitries, and other basic essentials. Then the rods were properly paved, and street lamps were set up. The city began construction of an outer wall to keep off the worse of the elements, but it proved to be expensive due to Mon-Cal inexperience to the harsher waters of Kamino, and the difference in temperature, frequency, and salt levels.

The city found it cheaper to employ Kamino Konstruction, Korperation to do the building for them. They were a capable workforce, fully deserving of the minor spelling errors. They were even put up for a bonus as the job finished completion. This was discussed carefully, but was finally accepted when a public relations minister pointed out how important it was to keep good Mon Cal and Kamino relations up, least hard feelings of the activist rebellion shine through. They got their bonuse, a small plack, and even a free pet squid. And there was much rejoicing.

Next buildings included a general corner store, the first industrial building in New Reef Town, and much respected. It sold minor amounts of assorted luxuries to remind the Mon Calamri of their beloved home, including post cards, food, clothes, periodicals, periodical subscriptions, candies, pets, and other little things.

After the general store came a ship-builder. He built boats, from dingys to large fishing ships, with an experienced team of builders from Mon Cal who felt they needed to help out. It was known as Fergy and Sons’ fantabulous Boating emporium. Its business was slow at first, though, as people were more concerned with the building industry, as more homes for more settlers came.

A small problem shone through though, how to handle Kaminos who whished to live here? Well first it was considered to give them their own quarter of the city, but someone reminded them of their ancient history classes, when studying human history, how because of resention caused by racial differences in two minor varieties of humans, each developed culturally differently from each other for a long time, until only in later years, with heavy government encouragement, did they ever start to mix, and it was remembered on how separation of them into two different areas caused this.

So they were accepted to join in, and minor changes were made in buildings. Because few buildings were done anyways, this changed little.

Another joining minority were Azguardians. Regrad, high Lord of Azguard, sent out explorers to the far corners of the galaxy to learn and discover. Because of the Azguard Friendship with the Mon Cals, several settled in Mon Cal zones.

After this, A super market was set up, providing all they needed in the way of food. And then a theatre, “The Fishy Minstrels”, was set up for holo or live performances.

Next came the mechanics shop, where droids were built. This was where the Life Guard droid came into importance. Many were manufactured, and all were built to look like humans, on the basis that they’re a good race to choose when stuck for ideas.

It was built and rebuilt until it was the best damn droid they could make. This helped bury the hatchet between Kaminos and Mon Cals, and soon the city began to take shape.

Later, the Town Square was established, large stones encircling a square of grass, and plants from across the galaxy were planted there to flourish. A big statue o a Mon Calamari and Kaminoian holding a laurel of peace between them was designed, and famous scuplters came to shape it. It was made of precious gold, and studded with great emeralds and sapphires, and became the home of countless beautiful birds. Peace, like the city, flourished in beauty.

New homes were built, and an ad campaign was sent to Mon Calamari to get new colonists. Many joined to seek new hope and excitement on a world populated with new people. Countless flocked to New Reef Town, and happiness was their reward. Then new stores were opened, and a newspaper was set up, The Reefs’ Voice, which brought them news of distant home. The mechanics stores were built, and some of the bigger multi-planet industries placed their stores there.

The mayor of New Reef Town was still undecided, but an election was planned. The three dominant poitical parties were the Constructivists, headed by Gan Reef, the Peace Core, Lead by Tyunner Scoon, and the Socialists, led by Traks Vin Deisik. The first debate was lengthly indeed, with each group insisting on building a greater city, but in different ways; The Constructivists wanted to expand and build more, to increase the city, The Peace Core wanted to encourage more nationalities to move here, so as to increase cultural diversity, and The Socialists, who believed a radical new government style was needed. But few believed in the Socialists, so in the end, The Peace Core and the Constructivists came up as the final two.

The Peace Core won by a nose, because of memories of the swift, bloody rebellions on Kamino. Hurrah! For there was a mayor, Tyunner Scoon. Scoon sent out shuttles anywhere, looking for anyone, to come to his “Glorious City of Peace and Harmony”. Humans answered the call, as did Bothans, and wookies, and Klingons (Just joking), and all flooded to the city, to enjoy its’ unique flavor.

For with these new immigrants, came new ideas and methods. Restaurants spread like wildfire across its’ surface, and the wonders of these new ideas startled and bedazzled them. It was said that one could not wander down Main Street without learning something new.

Then came the first university, Known as the 1st Fleet Memorial University, in memory of the horrible tragedies that the fleet suffered during the many Jutraalian wars. But it gained the joke nickname of the Snowkans’ Screwup Memorial University. It opened its’ doors after construction to all as a centre of knowledge and truth.

Then their lovely peace, which had been going so well, was shattered in a heart-beat. They say on earth each generation has one moment which they will remember for the rest of their lives; America Joining the 2nd world war, JFK assassination, Princess Diana Crash, 9/11, well for the people of New Reef Town, it was when they heard the one group they feared had escaped. The radical, semi-insane, kamino separatists and their clone army had broke out of the underground barricade and now terrorized the north of Kamino.

But they knew what it was that these malicious malcontents were truly after, and it caused each and every one of them to quake in fear…

The clones came out from the north, and using stolen boats arrived at the city. From there they unloaded weapons and such into the small harbour, only showing up in small boats here and there. It was a big city, and they got in unnoticed.

Of course, this was only a fragment of their army. The rest awaited the signal that the others had disabled security. They moved swiftly to turn down the shields, open doors, slit guards throats, and weaken the defences quietly and effectively.

The waiting army quietly moved out from their hiding place, now there was no one to spot their giant ships, carrying their army. The clones were efficient and quickly took the city, facing little resistance.

New Reef Town was theirs.

But The Mon Calamari Republic would not stand for this. Their army was strong enough to oust them, but the civilian casualties would be immense. Instead they sent a hidden strike team, who slipped into the city and secretly created a hidden rout to escape by.

The city had become a camp. Military troops patrolled the street, people were starved and kept trapped in their own homes. But the secret rout, formed by an assortment of safe houses eventually leading to a hole in the wall leading outside, worked hard against this. The young and the weak and the sick were slipped out of the city at night, and taken to friends and family. Extra food, medical supplies, cloths, and other necessities were brought in.

But soon the captors realized that their prisoners were slowly trickling away. Guards increased, and systems in which a certain amount of people were punished when people were freed. When one was released, five were beaten to near-death and confined in small cells.

But that did not faze even the young, who continued to flee in masses away from their prison.

But a wave of terror rippled through the prisoners when one of the team was caught. He was brutally beaten in the street, and then interrogated and tortured to reveal the others. When he did not talk they administered a “Final Justice”.

He received a post-humorous Medal of Valour.

Now the guards were starting to round up anyone they were suspicious of and had them shot. When this didn’t work, some bright light up at H.Q. thought up the most cruel plan imaginable.

The sun rose, high into the sky. Children woke in their filthy, desecrated homes, and begun to dress themselves. They would go to get breakfast from the food drops.

Then clones were sent. The clones snatched the children. Took them from their screaming mothers. Shot those who resisted. They were all taken to the City hall, where they were forced into squalid cells.

The rebels warned that any attempt to breach the city, or liberate its’ denizens, would get the children killed.

All operations stopped. They hunkered down and begun to plan.
