The Last Round Up (TCF/Pantolomin/Sluis Van)
  • Posted On: Jan 15 2002 4:42am
OOC This goes hand in hand with the Tibanna Gas Convoy thread...forces being attacked there CANNOT be used here.

Telween had been given the order, he would wait no longer. He peered at the holomap which portrayed the systems controlled by Chimera Fleet....then those controlled by the Rogue Empire. It was amazing, how little forces Chimera Fleet actually posessed and yet boasted to be so amazingly powerful. Admiral Schmoe was a fool however, Telween surpassed him in military knowledge and tactics by at least four times...and that was giving him a lot of credit.

He had the entire Avenger Fleet at the palm of his hand, followed by their twin fleet the Vengeance Fleet. It was going to be an all out invasion, first Pantolomin, then Sluis Van. Vengeance Fleet was perfectly equipped for a planetary assault, while Avenger was perfect space and air support. As Telween initially thought...they were under his palm...in his large chess game.

"Check mate," he said quietly with an excited grin. By then the ship had screamed into hyperspace, careening itself toward the rebel planet. Telween had plenty of time to consider the entire attack strategy first hand. First of all, they had no star fighters as of yet due to a severe shortage after the Eclipse War, and furthermore, all Rogue Imperial fighter forces were being allocated to a secret mission in the Tatooine system. Telween had to find a way to gain space superiority with possibly only a handful of TIE Advanced at his disposal which could jump in at any moment. But that was only a squad or two.

Now Pantolomin was just coming to, the hazy straight turqoise lines turning back into their white dots on the great black mat as the Rogue Imperial ships tore back into real space. Joe had not anticipated this sudden surprise attack, and the few star fighters that were on patrol fell immediately to oncoming turbo lasers. The ships jumped out perfectly, completely shielding themselves from sight behind the sun, using debris and space dust to hide themselves from radar as well. They could be sensed...seen, and shot at no doubt, but it would take a lot of squinting and a lot of comprehension to actually narrow out who or where it was.

"Launch the assault transports and get ready for invasion of their moon, we're going to secure all passes, we <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> need<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> space superiority!" Telween yelled, removing himself from the holoroom and making his way to the bridge. Everyone was in position to attack the enemy, the storm troopers already loading into the assault transports.

They will be launched soon.

The room is uncharacteristically clean. No cups of caff strewn about the room, no food crumbs litter the floor. To Beldev, this is a job of precision, not of blundering your way through the job.

Countless datacards lie in cabinets next to the vacuum black desk. A series of cracks, the sound of cramping fingers attests to the hours of work that Beldev has just completed. A computer terminal rests upon the desk, it’s screen a mass of numbers and characters. To most it would be a screen filled with nonsense, hours of time wasted. To Beldev and TRE it was the key. It was the holo-in for the receiver at the TCF home base. The unique identification number would allow Beldev to work wonders.

Weeks before, a modified holonet transmitter had replace the original. It had taken a while to narrow down the holo-in, but the time and money would be well worth it.

[]-------------------------------------------------[]
20 minutes later
[]-------------------------------------------------[]

Beldev smiled slightly as he double-checked the file. He had managed to compact a few of his favorite programs as well as some ones he had personally written. His personal favorite was the Mynock. It has the ability to compile all the data into one file and then wipe the system by multiplying itself until it overwrites everything.

A series of key taps later the countdown started, the clocks were synchronized, at zero it would all begin and end.

[Zero]

A small window appears on the screen; through it a different world is seen. One of Dark Troopers. A deft keystroke and the view changes, but shows the same thing.

Beldev chuckles and opens the comm channel.

“Sire, the upload has been successful. It was disappointingly easy. Execution of Mynock awaits your command.”

The joystick bucked in Beldev's hands. The simulated kickback was artificial, but allowed for a deeper emersion into the world he viewed through the goggles clinging to his face.

The world that lay before him was one of chaos, blaster fire rang out and a dull thud told of the bolt hitting its target. Suddenly the number of blasters firing increased tenfold.

[{CHA-COOOM}]

The power generator exploded violently flinging shrapnel and decapitating the droid he had been controlling.

Beldev smiled as he took off the goggles and double clicked the comm signifying that he had completed his orders.

With the Dark Troopers completely under Beldev's control due to the incredible slicing abilites he presented, life was made increasingly easier. Those were simply less forces they had to deal with at the Chimeran capital deep outside Sluissi City. There were only somewhere around eighty-five of the Dark Troopers left after they had begun destroying the shield generators. Now Emperor Fearsons, from his command ship the <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Disruptor<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->, had complete control over the evil droids. He was almost impressed at how Joe had gotten his hands on such fine technology. But of course...he was still using the Mark models...Fearsons had used the old Imperial tactic and used HUMANS as Dark troopers, training them slightly in the Force and letting them wreak havoc on whomever went before them.

These droids were too easy to get their hands on, Joe had not even considered the possibilities of a slicer like Emperor Fearsons had. Blindly uploading the holonews data with the Mylock "Virus", at least the Rogue Empire filtered everything of any suspicion before actually reading it.

Using two set joysticks to control his new toys, through the screen he could see several Chimeran soldiers running from the enemy base from Beldev's explosion. He pivoted the droid to the right and began unrelentingly fire his blaster out, tearing down the enemy wall defending the base, it was now completely unshielded and unready for an enemy attack.

Now the droids were focusing entirely on the soldiers, who had managed to take down one or two before losing more than half their forces. Fearsons could see the internal struggle of the droid as one of the technicians was inevitably screaming and crying trying to get the Dark troopers back under control. If Joe had any common sense, he'd have put self destruct or de activation mechanisms on the droids, and therefore the plan had to get back to work quickly.

The emperor was done playing around with the rebel forces, and lowered his rifle to pick off one more and began running with the other dark troopers toward the base's main structure and barracks. There was no defense as the self detonation went off, and the entire fore building caved in on itself, while the barrackses had no defense either, just exploding to the sheer might of the dark troopers.

Blaster shots rang all around the area as the last droid tried to take down as many soldiers as he could before finally falling himself. He managed to take down twenty seven before eventually exploding.

Fearsons' screen went black and his controls dead. He simply let go of the joy sticks where there was no life left. Operation: Betyrayal was a success. Next Fearsons had to lead the Rogue Empire to victory over the rebels. They'd faught long enough...it was time to end this futile chses game so Fearsons could get on to bigger, better things.

His ship was just coming into orbit around Pantolomin, there were no defenses of any kind as most were sent to Sluis Van after hearing of an imminent Rogue Imperial attack...issued by false Rogue Imperial radio waves.

Standing from his seat, the emperor strode away toward his quarters, where inside he was greeted with a large technical readout of the outlying strategy, as well as a holocom of the areas around so he could get a perfect view as to what was happening.

"Well then, let's launch a squad of TIEs and get this over with," Fearsons said quite simply, resting his hands behind his back easily. "Operation: Door Opener is now in effect."

With the Eclipse Star Destroyer <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Death's Hand<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> taking the lead in, they jumped inbound with the hundred and thirty five other ships at their disposal....and yet...they still had others in reserve incase they needed to call them in. Fearsons was, strangely enough, aboard the <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Death's Hand<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> for this battle, he wanted to experience it, to lead it into its first invasion. He was unfortunate enough not to be there at the Battle of Mylock IV, but he was here now to make up for that. Its first test in <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> true<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> combat...if rebels could be called true soldiers.

"Do not launch all fighters yet, we do not want to be polluted any more than we already are," Fearsons ordered as the ships mvoed closer to the planet, the super laser was already charged from the previous Battle of Halowan. The Chimerans were now three ships less, unfortunately....the Rogue Empire was one ship less. The Rogue Empire...never before had that name brought so much pride to Fearsons...Rogue Imperial....emperor, it was all making him so proud this time.

Twenty TIE Interceptors and a squadron of TIE Bombers were all that were out now. Fearsons was not here to lolly gag around and play Mr. Nice War man. Chimera Fleet declared total war on Fearsons...Fearsons was here to act on that. Standing aboard the <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Death's Hand's<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> bridge, there were nearly a thousand personnel there alone, he'd had to recruit so many people just to get that mere craft up and running...but it was a mere fraction of the amount of soldiers and persons he had under his command.

The enemy had already been seen, and judging by the fact that there were six Imperial Star Destroyers in the system, they were going to try to put up a fight.

"<!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Red Dog<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->, fire at once!" he yelled, Angel Torpedos to start the battle. They shot straight from the Victory Star Destroyer's twenty of the eighty missile launchers, directly toward the <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Lusankya<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->. That ship would need to be captured and renamed, that name was insulting to all that was right.

"Sir enemy droid fighters inbound," Fearsons heard one of his helmsmen reporting and he simply grinned.

"Good, let them come, don't let our fighters go any more than two kilometers from our ships before those fighters are clear...ok boys they got a research facility down there that they're making bioweapons with to murder our men...let's put an end to it," he said as the fleet moved into their various formations. The tiny Chimeran Fleet could not keep all the ships at bay, and already they were moving around on either side of the planet, transports already being launched. Sluis Van...was faltering...and the battle had not even begun.

"Sir, our vector has been calculated, initial exit estimated time to arrival, one minute."

Davin's finger brushed his eyebrow affectionately, running a seam of sweat from his forehead. <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> One minute... one minute...<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> He stood by the Strategic Hologram Console, monitoring the fleet formations that he held in his authority. The vast resources of the Rouge Empire extended to only the most competant commanders. At the time however, Davin Halcyon didn't seem to be entirely concentrated on his objective, and his mind sometimes faltered from his goals, to his latest domestic development.

His wife, who had bore him an offspring of the Force, had unfortunately died due to a recent outbreak of some unknown viral infection. With the sudden tragic loss of his soulmate, and with the sudden miss givings of the loss of his mother, Kyp Halcyon had sought penance and refuge amoung the famed and reveered Rouge Jedi Order. Davin protested, uring his son to concentrate his emotional fronts as vectors for destroying the Rouge Empire's dastardly foes. The terrorists daring to bare the Imperial name known as the Chimerans were trampling in defeat at their latest losses to the Rouge Empire, and their maniacle organization was soon to be shutdown in an oblivion of the same fear they had enstilled on others accross the galaxy.

Kyp had unfortunately, chosen to aid the Rouge Jedi Order along with the Emporer Fearsons, the two souls leaving for the vast gaseous Yavin system. This had deeply wounded Davin's heart, and his premonition of the situation was that Kyp's leave of absence was urged and supported by the Emporer, leaving feelings of betrayl in Davin. However, the call of duty left him in anguish of opposing interests against his duties, and his family. <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Kyp must plot his own course.<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->

"Sir, exiting on vector, in five... four..."

Relay department openned a secure frequency to the entire task force.

"... three... two..."

<!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Let's see what Chadd's been up to...<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->

"... one."

The Vengeance and Avenger platforms revectored into the dimension of realspace, all systems running in smooth cohesion in tandum with other systems. Scanners indicated other Rouge Empire platforms kilometers away from Davin's detachment, engaging the enemy in a fierce land seige of the Marine Corps.

"Move the fleet into a cascading formation in radius of the designated civilian targets of Delmar and Slussie cities."

The Victory class star ships were built with precision and brutally efficient accuracy in mind, as their bombardment and seige capabilities were unmatched in any other star craft. The Victory destroyers took a flanking position to Blackblade's detachment, while the rest of the Vengeance and stalked in a covering formation a few hundred kilometers aft of the seige platforms.

"Note to all Victory destroyers, acquire target accuisition, seige guns flanking the Chimeran civilian targets on Sluis Van, fire at will."

The ships began a lethal bombardment of the surface. Volleys of particle and energy weapons beamed towards the surface of the civilian installations, destroying the cities, entire families, hearitage, leagacies to be forgotten, oblierated in an instant. Fire's raged across the surface of Delmar and Slussie, enveloping everything in their path in carnage and oblivion.

Fearsons bowed his heads as heard what was happening down in Sluissi City and Delmar...it was tragic to say in the least...but the Chimerans were being ever more ferocious in their tactics...choosing to hide in the houses of civilians, trying to send and recruit children for war, it was absolutely tragic. Unfortunately, thus was war. The emperor did not want to see entire cities crushed, but the enemy was hiding there and refused to leave...there was no other choice.

"May the Force guide those souls lost today," he said with one quiet bow of his head. "Ok, fire the super laser...take out the enemy Victory Star Destroyer <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Pantolomin<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->, time to show them true soverignty!"

The whole of the <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Death's Hand<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> rocked back from the enormous kick, and it quickly enveloped the enemy Victory Star Destroyer in flame, already the <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Imperial<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->-Class Star Destroyers from the enormous fleet had opened turbo laser fire...shields were failing on nearly all enemy ships already, this was going to be a quick attack. Of course by now, the troop transports had already landed and were scowering the planet for any Chimeran resistance.

The storm troopers were tense tucked inside their assault transport, some hands shivering while others stroked their rifles out of fear. They were trained to cope with fear, but no one could actually <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> prevent<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> it from coming, especially not before battle. Staff Sergeant Yelnak was in charge of the second wave of ongoing troops, and he could see, even though their faces were hidden behind their heavy masks, that his men feared death this day.

He knew that he too was most likely going to die, but he also had no doubt in his mind that the rebellion would be quelled, the Rogue Empire would be able to show that treachery is not to be tolerated. Two million soldiers were being committed to the invasion of Sluis Van...the Chimeran scum had no defense.

Silence was becoming them, which was beginning to send the men chills...they needed something...adrenaline. Then the speaker activated.

"Clear the ramp, we drop in three seconds!" it said, and the staff sergeant felt stomach take in a sudden knot...then the ramp shot open. Gunfire was hazing the skies and ground, white boots were everywhere and the men were forced to withdraw from the transport or be destroyed.

The skies were ridden with ash, Victory Star Star Destroyers ravaging the rebel cities, one moving in bound toward the base they were raiding. It was one of the rebels' final strong holds, they had no hope of defeating the onslaught of Rogue Imperial forces here.

Yelnak leapt to the side as a laser shot from the large structure raced toward him, splashing dirt and grass up to the side of him, igniting a little flame, then an explosion to his right threw him off. There was a large ditch/trench up ahead that all the storm troopers had set up to defend themselves with...Yelnak knew he had to make it there. Two more troops died to his right before he leapt into it, trying to dodge more blaster shots.

Dirt and mud was being shot up from the trench as the poor aimed and poorly trained rebels attempted to fire. Several shots were returned by the ground soldiers, trying to hit the enemy back, chipping away at the wall defenses.

"HT-AT's to be here in two minutes," their headsets told them, but the light and medium tanks were already there and pounding the base, several of the soldiers beginning to scale the walls and batter down the enemy soldiers with the butts of their rifles.

Out in space the job was done for the others, and thus Despayre Fleet turned to withdraw, with a few support craft...that left a smaller amount of forces for Joe to fight off...but not much.

<!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> The Light and medium tanks were pounding the people he was sworn to defend. It was know time to destroy those god dammed machines of war and put Chadd in his right place. The 30 Arakyd Tank droids. Had taken up position, 4 km from the light and medium tanls. They began firing on them with their heavy particle cannons giving them a pounding they won't soon forget. Many of the light tank went up in flames after being touched by 1 shot from the cannon. Others took 2 The medium tanks fared a bit better. They took 3 hits before they died but they still subcumed to the fateful barrage. The AT-AT's were over by the construction yard. As was the AT-ST's but the AT-ST's would be here in a few minutes. 2,000 Chimaeran Syndicate troops hurried forward positioning E-webs. 1,000 E-webs opened fire, on the troops. They got cut down in seconds. 20 Dark Trooper mkIII's had just arrived. They began firing their missiles into the throng of soldiers. Whenever a trooper bothered to fire at them they just withdrew or deflected it off their phrik body armour. Suddenly a screaming was heard in the sky. 50 Tie Bombers dropped from the sky all carrying a load of Fex-M34 grenades. Luckily the wind was right carrying it away from the city but even so the soldiers withdrew and hundreds of men in Exo-Suits appeared all ready to stop the gas at a moments notice.<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->

Up in the sky.....
<!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Admiral Joe Schmoe saw the scene unfolding in fronmt of him. The ground battle was going well but not the space battle. He had ordered all his ships to go above the Eclipses fields of fire so the SUperlaser couldn't hit them. So far the strategy was working. They were taking a heavy pounding but so were their targets. Admiral Joe had just 1 thought in his head. If we can just hold out a little longer.<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->

At Pantolomin.......
<!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> He saw the scene unfolding around him. He knew that they wouldn't be getting reinforcements soon. So he had to hold out with what he had. He ordered the turbolaser and the Ion Cannon to prepare to fire.<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->
"Fire!" he yelled
<!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> 1 huge blue bolt lance up from the Ion Cannon. And 5 green bolts followed them. The Green bolts all targeted 1 Corellian Gunship. Destroying it while the Ion Cannon bolt targeted the lead Imperial Star Destroyer. Suddenly their was a flurry of activity behind him. An aide ran up to him and began talking wildly.<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->
"Sir it's a message from intelligence. TRE is being attacked at Despayre." said the aide
"Charge the laser batteries and let me think about this." he said
<!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> The Status indicator on both batteries went from red to yellow to green.<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->

OOC

BTW Joe, your ground war is sucking ass, I destroyed all your Darktroopers with my slicer <points to the second and third and fourth posts>. 'Sides, we're not even IN the cities hitting you...we're 12 miles outside, my VSDs are pounding your cities.

The base was being torn down miraculously, the HT-AT's were there now and had already begun unleashing their heavy fore cannons, ripping into the walls...or what was left of them. Rockets spewed forth as well and several of the Chimeran personnel leapt from the gun turrets and emplacements to avoid certain death at the hands of the monstrously eerie and doom spelling creations.

The light repeating blaster atop the HT-AT's head made short work of any fleeing troops, and with a roar of Twin Ion Engines, the final bombs were placed on the enemy facility, it was gone. The enemy TIE Bombers however <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> did<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> manage to let loose their own chemical weapons...doing absolutely nothing to the storm troopers in their full gear and everything, there was no chance such a weapon could harm them.

But the virus had gotten into the air...he was now KILLING those he swore to protect. The final strong hold however...was now down, Joe had only a few select space ports left before the planet was entirely in Rogue Imperial hands.

The Vengeance Fleet's magnitude of Victory Star Destroyers were now moving toward the last three star ports, there was little hope left for Chimera Fleet. As the eclipsing Star Destroyers ported over the enemy, turbo lasers seered downward, turning the sky to ash from the flames and shadows that spewed forth from the atrocious attack.

Joe was smart with this emplacement at least...there was no civilian installations within forty miles, and that it for a good clean battle. With missiles raining down on the enemy however...clean was an under statement. What was left of the space port was now being cleared out by the marines who had been hiding away from it...toward the bushes. It was almost too easy.

The space battle was raging on, with so many turbo lasers on the enemy Star Destroyer, the <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Imperial Death<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> ignited into a combusted ball of flames, sending it hovering off toward another direction....and literally exploding, leaving only a frame left. That left only three more Star Destroyers to deal with before it was all clear. The Angel Missiles grinded into the <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Lusankya<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->, and already the persons inside were dying or being ripped apart by the creations of the Angel Virus.

In a mere matter of moments...the screams and cries of help went silent, and the <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Lusankya<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> was pilotless. With the <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Death's Hand<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> charging its super laser mightily...what hope was there for the Chimera Fleet?
