Ripples Within The Force(Open)
  • Posted On: Apr 22 2002 5:36am
Drip....Drip...Drip.........Drip...

That was the only sound present as Misery quietly paced her quarters, or at least what she liked to call her quarters. The room she was pacing held not a single ounce of life, except for that of her own. Her room was completely empty, not to mention dark. Her only light into the outside world was a window positioned way up high upon her white wall, though anyone who had been given the opportunity to find her here would have been fooled into thinking her walls were all black. The light from her window didn't reach down far enough to light up the entire room, only a small section of it.

Well, there was also her door, that let her go into the outside world as well, well actually, the other side of her door accessed a series of tunnels, which in turn, eventually lead to the outside world. Well at least it did if one didn't lose their path along the way while traveling through those tunnels.

Those tunnels lead to many different directions, an infinite many number of options to where one could travel. Some good places, and some not so good places, but of course none of those areas presented any real danger to Misery. She welcomed both the bad and the good, depending upon whichever situation felt right to her at the time.

Drip....Drip...Drip.........Drip...

That same pattern, ever consistent. Misery's walls were not exactly sound proof, though the dripping didn't seem to bother Misery. She was still able to focus on anything she desired.

Her concentration seemed to be solely placed on her mind. An odd sensation, no make that many sensations, she felt through the force that seemed to enter her mind through ripples within the force, all vicarious nonetheless.

One ripple, connected with another ripple, connected to another and another...

Yet they all had one thing in common, the force...

Loss...and...power

An upper hand gained, an upper hand lost...

Those were the only two things that Misery felt.

Loss.....

It was not loss in a loss in life, but loss in that of a bond. A loss in separation, once combined. A unity, a unity that had once been strong but had now become weak over time, among many a people.

Power.....

Those who had once been weak now conquered those who had once been strong.

How had it happened? What had caused it? Was it conflict? War perhaps? Choices made? New paths being found, forcing those who had once been strong into separation.

Yet however weak or strong, one fact remained, each lived on, achieving the same goals that each had once set out to achieve, regardless of what the present held. History still remained and lived on.

Misery wanted to seek answers, answers that would hopefully bring her balance. She would not have to go to just her fellow Shadow Jedi to get those answers, but to many a force user, and even then she did not know if she would find the answers she needed in the end. Even if she did not get the answers she needed, it would be ok, the force was still with her, and like many a force user, it would always be with her, regardless what happened later on....

Turning sharply on her left heel, she moved in quick strides toward her door, entering into the darkened tunnels, which would eventually lead her into the outside world....

Jade was walking the darkened hallways, lost deep in thought when suddenly she bumped into someone. She hits the floor hard and reaches out with Force, not able to tell if this person where Sith or not. Thinking about being a failure and a disgrace to her family has weakened her use of the Force momentarily.

She stands and raises her left hand. Slowly, a fireball appears in her hand, lighting the hallway.

Jade sees another female and nods to her.

"I am sorry for bumping into you." she finally finds the words to say.

The tunnels did not allow access to just Misery herself, but to many force users of many difference kinds. Everyone knew which tunnels to stay away from and which tunnels could be entered without a problem. Misery of course entered all of them.

As it were, the tunnels were dark, and it made it very difficult to see, everyone usually made their way around one another by "feelings" in the force. If one wasn't a force user, they obviously had a hard time searching the tunnels without the proper light to guide them from one destination to the next.

Misery had felt the force user even before the presence ahd bumped into her, another Shadow Jedi like herself, or at least she thought so from what she felt from the force.

She hadn't expected the fireball, not even the collision for that matter. Nonetheless she managed to gain control of herself after a few moments time.

She smiled lightly at the woman who stood before her now.

"Quite alright, my friend."

It was a woman she did not recognize.

"What brings you this way, if you don't mind me asking?"

Jade chuckles softly and closes her hand around the fireball. Normally, this would make it vanish, but right now, she needs it for light. So when she opens her hand, it is still there, because it is what she wishes.

Jade nods again.

"Not at all. I was just wandering around, trying to rid myself of being so active. I train alot, but it does not seem enough, so I pace sometimes. Tonight, however, I thought I would wander the darkened corridors.

Although I see I am not the only one around these halls tonight." she says with a soft smile.

"My name is Empress Dark Emerald Jade Corellia Solo Darklighter Universe Horodren. Long name, I know. You may call me Jade, or Jadey, or even EJ as some do.

May I ask your name?" she asks politely.

Dakkon tramped through the tunnels loudly. He was bored of his endless training, but was glad that he was well on his way to being bestowed the rank of Shadow Knight. Suddenly as he reached out with the force to find his way he sensed a big grouping of mitoclorians. Well, he didn't sense that, rather a large force signiture.

Moving towards it he unhooked one of his sabres, just in case. Growing nearer, he was concentrating so much on his goal that he did not notice rocks on the ground, causing him to stumble and curse occasionally. After five minutes of incessant stumbling, he sensed two presences. Both Shadow Jedi, one fairly familier, the other less so. Soon both were in sight.

"Ladies, can neither of you sleep? I seem to be struggling. Hello Jade, don't think we have ever offically met, but i have noticed you aboard the <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Celestial Corruptor<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->. And you are?" he asked, gesturing at the other woman.

Misery returned the smile with one of her own.

"Of course you may, but do be far warned, it is not my real name. It is a name that was given to me long ago, fitting for a time so long ago, perhaps it still may fit me to this day..."

She paused for a moment to look down at the fireball Jade held within her hand, Misery seemed to be reflecting off of old memories.

She shook her head once, trying to ward off the old memories as she looked back up at Jade.

"Such a long name, but I'm sure it carries with it a great deal of history. History you are obviously proud of, it spans from many different places and times..."

Misery wasn't really asking about Jade's name, more of observing, something she liked to think she was good at.

Misery laughed lightly, moving back to something Jade ahd said.

"You are not the only one who has found themselves pacing tonight. It is a pleasure to meet you Empress Jade. Are you going anywhere in paticular or just wandering around? If you don't mind the company, and if you're not busy, I'd be happy to join you as you venture around. I have no place to be, really. I am searching..."

She grinned lightly.

"....For what, I do not know, but I suspect it will come to me with time."

Jade was about to speak but the conversation had been interrupted suddenly by some disturbing sounds.

Misery tilted her head to the side as she watched a man stumble forward, apparently he was having some trouble guiding himself through the darkness, that wasn't too unusual around these tunnels.

Misery titled her head back up right and spoke.

"Are you alright?..."

Misery did not wish to be rude, so she answered his question, but she was more concerned for the man's well being.

"The name is Misery.."

She observed that the two standing before her now, abviously knew one another. This man was also a Shadow Jedi, and she smiled at this observation.

Dakkon smiled at the woman. Rarely around Master Fearsons was any such concern shown for his well being. He had become Fearsons personal punching bag.

"No no, i am fine. Restless but fine."

Looking around, Dakkon saw not much of interest. It was dank. It was Dark. It was his kinda place come to think of it. He put his sabre away, he obviously had no need of it here.

"You seem to like solitude. Hope you don't mind the interuption. Oh, and nice to meet you by the way!

So what are you doing around here?"

Dakkon was distracted, a constant dripping sound pervading the chamber they were currently in.

"Doesn't that ever get annoying?"

Misery laughed lightly, somewhat amused by Dakkon's question.

"Annoying, no, not at all. It is easy for me to ignore, though I have taken notice that the sound is always the same. I can easily focus on whatever I need to focus on because I know that I must focus, things that would seem to distract me, I block them out."

Misery eyed Dakkon curiously, pursing her lips after a moment and then she spoke.

"What am I doing here?...The same as you, I suppose. Restlessness is not an easy thing to overcome."

She turned to look back at Jade for a second before returning her gaze over ot the man.

"I was just asking Jade if she might like some company while she ventured around here. I'm inclined to ask you the same thing. I welcome the company."

Dakkon smiled, his questions answered, his mind still racing. Problem was his mind was racing for no reason, hence his sleeplessness.

"Company is always welcome my friend. Perhaps i could light our way?"

Dakkon withdrew one of his sabres, it glowing a light red showing off his annoyance at being unable to sleep, its lighter hue showing the annoyance was not serious. He noticed Miserys questioning glance.

"My sabres are Shadow Jedi Original. Found in the Temples of Clak'Dor V. They seem to show off my mood. Mood Sabres, who woulda thought it huh?"
