Vessana spun quickly on the balls of her feet, swinging her two handed saber in a tight deadly arc. She stopped the swing at center, blocking and dodging before dancing back a step for an overhead blow powerful enough to sever bone. As she darted about her white lightsaber became a blur, her attacks flashing with uncanny speed.

Slowly she turned around, her saber before her body, one hand on the grip, the other on the haft just below the blade. With a subtle nod to her assistant she closed her ice-blue eyes to her surroundings. Three training droids were activated, their small spherical bodies flitting into the air, and hurled toward the now blind woman.

At the last moment, Vessana ducked beneath the first flying sphere that aimed for her head. Her saber cut up to block another that fired a bolt at her. She took a step back, spinning the saber in hand and slashing downward to bat away the third as it closed in on her abdomen. Upon contacting with the glowing light of her weapon, the droid deactivated and fell to the soft soil of the Hapan Temple grounds.

The fluidity of her movements amplified as she blocked and countered the two relentless droids. The whistle of her blade slicing through the cool air mixed with the occasional sound of blaster fire from the droids. The dance of it was beautiful, and deadly.

The saber slashed across, turning up to connect with the second droid. As it plummeted to the earth she sensed the third bearing down on her, but the momentum of her last swing prevented her from bringing the saber into place. Releasing her hold of the grip, her hand snapped back and caught the tiny droid in her palm the instant before it would have struck the back of the head. Her thumb switched of the droid and she let it drop to the ground behind her.

Sun-gold hair clung to the sweat that trickled down her face and she finally opened her eyes. Chest heaving with every breath she turned to face her assistant.

" Again."

The young woman bowed her head, yet made no move to activate the droids at her side. "Most Revered Ereneda, the day grows long. There are matters of state that must be attended to."

She deactivated her saber and nodded. " Yes, of course. Thank you Sorsha." With a few strides Vessana came to stand next to her assistant and accepted the towel that was offered. Dabbing at the moisture on her face she smiled. " I would probably loose myself in these katas were it not for you my friend."

Sorsha’s light green eyes sparkled as she returned the smile. " If I may freely say so, Highness, I have seen no other move as you do. Your skills are impressive."

" Perhaps, but they are not enough. I have taught myself all I can, yet there is so much more that I could learn; That I need to learn. " A soft sigh escaped from between rosy lips. " The Consortium is not what it once was, Sorsha, and I will need every advantage to restore us to our former glory."

She looked at the weapon held reverently in her delicate hands. " I must seek a Jedi Master willing to teach me." She sighed again before handing the saber to Sorsha.

" Someday. Soon. But, as you said, there are matters that need my attention. This-" she gently laid a hand on the weapon in the assistants hand- " This will have to wait."

As the two women left the Temple grounds, Vessana could not help but wonder just how long she would have to wait.
