“Only after disaster can we be resurrected.”

Under the flickering almost dead lights of a bar sign a body lies. Slumped and twisted in an awkward shape so that the spin is half doubled over back on itself, whilst the arms form a cross over the rag doll forms eyes. The gutter water oozes around the shape being constantly absorbed by the light weight clothes it wears. People walk by it and disregard it, or mock it – they are better off. They do not have to worry about being mugged and thrown into the drains. Alcohol does not lace their breath, and drug addictions do not ensnare them. Debts do not hold them back and assassins do not stalk them. Spies do not watch them with prying eyes and guns do not find their way aimed to their head.

This is life. This is how things turned out. So much promise is held in a new birth and thanks to the jacked up world around us, minds are warped. Minds are corrupt. Corruption is in the government. The government runs us all. We are all nothing but slaves, nothing but drones. We are free to leave, for without us the hive mind is nothing, but we remain servants to the system and obey its will. Or do we? Is freedom of mind present or is going against the norm simply an attempt to get attention.

Why am I thinking about this?

I am unconscious, I am immobile, and I am waiting. My leg may be broken and my body bruised, but eventually – after time to rest – I will bounce back up. I am all humanity; I rebound from my failures, even with a bullet in my head. I am strong. I am weak.

Through a broken jaw a person can slur, even if it is a murmured slur. They may not be heard, but it is hard to miss them when they are positioned so unusually. And yes, Jamo was positioned most oddly. And yes, it was Jamo. Suprisingly.

(A sorry site indeed.)
(Even sorrier was the sight.)
(Jaketta was twisted and broken. Slumped in a puddle of... water? Urine? Blood? Indistingushable in darkness, but something smelled of urine. This whole area smelled of urine... no, this whole city. It was a tepid cesspool of filth and decay, a rotten city so much, buildings fell from far-gone foundations. To see a man barely alive in a pool of fluid was far from unusual... it was the norm in a place like this.)
(But to find a person of stature here... nevermind in such a position... was indeed a rarity.)
"Jamo Jaketta..."
(She mused to herself mainly, stroking a piece of hair off his blood-soaked face and rubbing his warm cheek.)
"You look like you could use a hot meal and a shower."
(She reached out her hand to help him up.)

A sickening crack sounded as the woman attempted to pull Jamo to his feet - the sound of the broken bone in his leg shifting even further out of place, almost piercing through his flesh. A sharp yelp escaped the mans lips and his eyes flickering open as he toppled back down onto the ground, curling into a ball against the curb.

"Arrrh!"

Jamo hissed. Then lapsed partly out of consiousness. Then fell out cold once more.

(Montague rolled her eyes. Of course, he had a broken leg and was in and out of conciousnes. Perfect.)
"All right, todays your lucky day. The elevator is in service."
(She splayed her hands and called deep inside her. She felt it coarse through her body... her hands snapped forth, and she felt the renewed vigor, and the new strength. She sighed... it was a great pleasure to in an instant become so strong and so alive, an intense rush... if it wasn't killing her, she would enjoy it a lot more often.)
(She flexed her arms and knew she would now have little struggle lifting the dead form of Jaketta.)
"All right... up we go..."
(She lifted the body up into her arms, cradling him against her chest, feeling a heat rise in her blood and sighed. She tried to fight it, bury it down, but with it closer to her now it wouldn't be silenced. She would find a dark alley...)
(Wake up, Emily! she thought to herself. He's drunk and his leg is broken. I doubt you'll get much out of him.)
(Perhaps another...)
(No! I am in control. I control my thoughts and actions, I act on impulses and deny urges. You obey me.)
(And she felt it sink away, but it wasn't far... she would always feel it at the back of her brain.)
(The ship...)
(She tried to recall where she had landed the <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Sihoyguwa<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> and quickly recalled the paces and turns.)
(Walk or fly?)
(Walk, she decided quickly. Out of place enough as it is.)
(So, she clutched Jamo closer and began to navigate the smelly crowds towards the docking bay of choice.)

"What th-"

He bite his tongue. Ow. It hurt. A lot.

"FRELL!"

A brief squirm and struggle, then a glance up at the one carrying him. No need to struggle, she looked nice. <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Nice<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> even. A slight grin covered his lips through the pain.

"Hey," he nodded slowly, a snakish smile spreading across his face, "How you doin'?"

(She returned the smile, although more luminously, and with more teeth.)
"Do not attempt speech. Your jaw is broken, you are missing several teeth and your throat is course from a heated argument and yelling over music. You will only damage yourself further.)

Besides...

(She added silently, inside his pulsing head...)

I can always hear your thoughts.

Matter of fact, his jaw hurted. So instead of speaking this time, he thought to himself.

<!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> "Where are we going?"<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->

The woman was a force user then, he guessed. Which side of the coin did she sit on though? If she was a jedi it would be logical for her to 'rescue' him - from what? he didn't know yet - or maybe a Sith looking for someone to tortue. Hopefully the first of the two.

My ship. It's a modified Star Cruiser with cloak and sensor jamming... fast, so was can make the trip to Votras.

(She stoped for a second, then continued in a different direction.)

Unless you'd like to limp to a transport to Vjun?

<!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> "Votras? Say what? Where the frell is that?"<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->

He grimaced. Something was very painful inside.

<!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> "Vjun? Hell no. I've got no medical equipment there."<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->

I'm suprised you've never heard of it. You seem to have eyes everywhere.

(She smiled at him, and bent her head and whispered in his ear.)
"24.47.77.16."
(She pulled her head back and ducked into new roadway.)

It's just a small asteroid... it's really good for nothing except it's highly megnetic and blocks sensors... so it makes for undetectable bases. Very nice...

(She sighed.)

Unfortunatly my original route took us to Dantooine... but you are in need of some serious medical attention, trooper.

(She punched him jokingly in the arm as she turned again, the docking bay in sight.)
