Gavyn Sykes sat on board the bridge of Death's Shadow, which was serving as the temporary command ship of Defender Fleet while Teebo was off fighting the alien asteroid ships. Gavyn had been left in charge and was told to take the planet of Kubindi.
Teebo had not told him much about Kubindi, except that it was inhabited by the Kubaz, a strange species who eat insects. Their eyes are very sensitive to sunlight so they were strange goggles.
Defender Fleet was currently sitting in the Bimmisaari system, ut not for long. Soon, it would be headed to Kubindi, so another planet could be added to the ever-growing Mon Cal Republic.
"Sir, we are about entering hyperspace." a young officer said.
"Good" replied Gavyn. It would not be long now. Gavyn was sure that Teebo would be pleased with his work in his absence.
And with that, Defender Fleet jumped into hyperspace on route to Kubindi.

Gavyn sat impatiently on the bridge of Death's Shadow. The trip to Kubindi would not take long, but Gavyn was worried. He didn't want to screw the takeover up. He didn't want Teebo to get mad. He did not want to be punished, fired, or even worse, killed. All he could do was hope that the Kubaz would be co-operative.

Several minutes later...
Gavyn remained on the bridge of Death's Shadow, still waiting. He knew it would not be long now.
A young officer spoke up,"We are about to exit hyperspace. Exiting in 10........5..3,2,1"
With a small jolt the MC-300 battlecruiser dropped out of hyperspace, followed by the rest of Defender Fleet.
"Kubindi ground control, this is General Gavyn Sykes of the Mon Calamari Republic. I come in peace. I wish to negotiate a treaty between our 2 great governments." Gavyn said, and listened for a reply.
"General Gavyn Sykes," came a voice, "this is Kubindi Ground Control Officer #A2. You have permission to send down a shuttle with yoour ambassador to negotiate."
"Okay. The shuttle will arrive shortly." replied Gavyn. He turned to face the crew.
"Have all ships on standby. We don't want to be ambushed again." with that he walked down to the Landing Bay, and got on board Shuttle Peace, his personal shuttle for peace missions.

Several minutes later...
Gayvn and his shuttle had launched from Death's Shadow, and was headed for Kubindi. It slowly dropped towards the planet, and the comm channel opened again.
"Shuttle Peace," said a voice, "this is Kubindi Ground Control. Proceed to Landing Pad 2. It is at the coordinates being transmitted now."
"Thank you." replied the pilot of the shuttle, and sped off in the direction of the given coordinates.

Gavyn stepped out of the shuttle onto the mysterious planet of Kubindi. He was greeted by a Kubaz, wearing thick gogles, like Gavyn expected.
"Right this way, please." th Kubaz said, and started walking towards a building in the distance. Gavyn followed closely behind.

Several minutes later...
Gavyn stepped inside the conference room, and was surprised to find a human. And it wasn't just any human. It was his twin brother, Gavin Sykes. Gavyn inhaled sharply.
"Surprised to see me, I guess." Gavin said.
"I wasn't expecting to find you here." Gavyn replied.
"I wasn't expecting you ether. Here on Kubindi we don't get many visitors."
"Why are you here? How did you come here?" Gavyn questioned. That was the one thing that had been bugging him. Why had his brothewr come to Kubindi?
"I came here many years ago, shortly after you joined the Mon Cal Republic, or Fleet it was called then. I came because I was outcasted from our homeworld of Tatooine. I had nowhere to go. I couldn't live anywhere else. But when my good friend Hedfar heard of my fate, he quickly seeked me out, and offered me position as the planetary governer. Now, I will ask you the same. Why are you here?"
"Teebo is off at Ylesia fighting off those strange asteroid ships, and he wanted me to take over for him, and add another planet to our list of allies. How about it?"
"Well... You must prove to me that you are worthy enough. We have intercepted a transmission that we are going to be attacked by some pirates shortly, and we don't have any ships. If you defend us we will side with you."
"Sure. I will come down from my shi again when we are finished." Gavyn replied.
"As you wish."

Several minutes later...
Gavyn sat on the bridge of the Death's Shadow, waiting. He was waiting for the piratesd to arrive. His entire fleet was on standby, even though he didn't think that they would need it all. Suddenly, a young officer spoke up.
"Sir, we have several ships dropping out of hyperspace. It's nothing we have ever seen before."
"Power up the graavity wells. We don't want these to escape. Launch the fighters as well. Don't attack until you can get a reading on them."
"As you wish, sir."
Gavyn watched as some ships of a strange design approached. They weren't the asteroid ships becasue they weren't biological, but they were ships of a design he had never seen before. Or had he? He could remeber seeing something like this before, but what was it...

Suddenly it clicked. They were Dreadnaughts. But who still had them? They looked fairly kept up.
"Can you give me areading on those? They appear to be Dreadnaughts, but how powerful are they? Do they have modifications?" Gavyn asked.
"No, sir, they have no modifications. Everything on them is working fine, though." an officer replied.
"Good. Open fire, with ion cannons only."
"as you wish, sir. It appears there is about 10 of them, and they are launching fighters. About 120 Uglies total, sir. Do you want our fighters to engage?"
"Yes." Gavyn replied. The fighters streaked out and opened fire quickly on the Uglies. The MCR fighters had far superior numbers, so they pverpowered them easily. When the capital ships got in range, blue Ion Cannon fire shot out from all of the ships, Concentrating on one at a time. The first Dreadnaught Cruiser lost it shields.
"Fire with missilea once the shields are down." Gavyn said, and watched as hundreds of Proton Torpedos flew out towards the first ship. It exploded into a giant fireball. The Ion Fire continued, and soon several more ships were down. It wouldn't be too much longer now...

In the fighters...
"Red Leader, I have one on my tail. I can't shake him!! I'm hit!!AAAARRRRRRRRGGHHH-"
"I got one!! Yeeeeeehaaaaaa."
"Red Fight, Blue Flight, launch you Torpedo's into the center of that swarf there on my mark. 3,2,1 Mark."
Several Torpedos shot out, and exploded into a swarf of Uglies, destroying them all.
"That should be all of the fighters. How many casaulties?"
"Just the one that tried to take out the swarm singled-handedly, Lead."
"Lets get back to ship. We need to run the pilots through some training."
"All of the TIE Defenders flew back towards their ships, after having dealt with the fighters.

After the last of the Dreadnaughts had been destroyed, Gavyn headed back down to the planet again. He now stood in the meeting room with his brother, Gavin Sykes.
"So, will you join with us yet?" Gavyn asked.
"Well... You are very powerful and all, but you happen to be allied with some Imperials." Gavin replied.
"Haven't you noticed? They are Rogue Imperials, and are lead by a Jedi. They are not true Imperials. You might also want to notice that we are allied with The New Alliance, and they are not Imperials." Gavyn replied.
"The Rogue Imperials are still Imperials," protested Gavin,"And there is nothing you can do to change that."
'If you want us to take you by force, than so be it." Gavyn replied, and walked out of the room.

Several minutes later...
Gavyn sat on board the bridge of Death's Shadow.
"Send down tha AT-HA's and about 1500 soldiers. Land them 5 kilometres from where that Kubaz army is forming." Gavyn said.
"As you wish, sir."
The AT-HA's detached thenselves from the sides of Death's Shadow and began to move down towards the planet, followed be several shuttles loaded with troops.

Several minutes later...
The AT-HA's had landed in an open field, 5 kilometres from the Kubaz army. Since Gavyn Sykes was up on Shadow Defender commanding it there,Thomas Horn, a starfighter pilot, would be commanding the troops.
"All AT-HA's open fire with your Heavy Particle Beams. They have a range of five kilometres." Thomas said.
Beams shot out from the five AT-HA's and began to wipe out huge chunks of the advancing Kubaz army. Thomas knew that they would never reach his army in time. Unless they tried to surround him. He quickly looked behind him and saw 10 AT-AT's, 15 AT-ST's, 20 AT-PT's and some Kubaz troops approaching form the other side.
"Use two of the Turrtes to fire behind." Thomas said, and wathced in glee as 5 AT-AT's went downin giant fireballs. Those cannons were powerful. The AT-HA's continued to fire, and the rst of the AT-AT's wnet down, followed by the AT-ST's. The AT-PT's were now approaching fast, and were almost in range. But not for long. The Heavy Pariticle Beams fired some more shots, and destroyed the AT-PT's and the remaining troops on that side. Thomas turned to face the other way, but noticed in the corner of his eye, several TIE Bombers approacing.
"All AT-HA's target the TIE Bombers. Don't let them get in range." Thomas said
The Heavy Particle Beams and the Turbolaser Pulsers opened fire, and quickly downed the fighters. Another bunch came. They were again destroyed. Then another. Destroyed agian. Then, finally realizing that they were just losing ships, the Kubaz atopped their air assault. They weren't done on the ground yet though. All of the approaching Kybaz had been destroyed, nut now some more approached. It appeared that there was almost 100 AT-AT's. The AT-HA's were far more powerful though. They began to fire, and picked of 20 AT-At's in each salvo. There was 100, then 80. Then there was 60, and then there was 40. In two more salvo's they were all gone. Thomas thought that it was getting to easy. Then troops started approaching from all sides. The AT-HA's worked together, each taking a side, leaving one to fire in all directions. That left 5 Heavy Particle Beams, and 2 or 3 Turbloaser Pulsors for each side. It would still be enough. The approaching troops were quickly downed, but MCR was given no time to regroup. These troops were followed by bunches of AT-AT's and AT-ST's. Then some more TIE Bombers approached. The middle AT-HA started on air duty, wiping out flights of fighters in single salvos. It was too easy.

On board Death's Shadow...
Gavyn sat on the bridge, awaiting the assault of the Kubaz. They had quite a force down on the planet, but nothing the AT-Ha's couldn't handle. Now he was waiting for their fleet to arrive. He knew it would be quite large.
"Sir, there fleet has arrived." a young officer said,"It appears to be made of Imperial ships. There is 5 Imperial-Class Star Destroyers, and 2 Victory-Class Star Destroyers, with full fighter compliment."
"Launch all of the fighters. Use the same tecnique we used on the Dreadnaughts, starting with the Imperial-Class."
"As you wish, sir."
The fighters launched and quickly began to engage the enemies. Gavyn knew this would be agood battle because the Kubaz forces were slightly stronger. But that qwould not help them any.
When the Mon Cla ships got in range, they opened up with blue Ion Cannon fire, all concentrated on the lead ship. It lost its shields quickly, and exploded in a huge fireball when the Proton Torpedos connected. The Mon Cal Republic quickly moved on, and downed a second ship in the same fashion. Blue Ion fire flew towards the third and fourth Imperial-Class Star Destroyers, and took down their shieds as well. Then they were torn to shreds by Torpedos. Again, Blue Ion fire shot out, but this time at the three remaining ships together. As soon as their shields were down, they exploded from Proton Torpedos. The fighters had nowhere to go. They were TIE Fighters and Interceptors, so therefore not equiped with hyperdrives. The Mon Cal Republics TIE Defenders were in far superior numbers and were more heavily aremed and shielded, so they brought down the fighters quickly. Gavyn wondered if the Kubaz would be willing to side with them yet...

After the last of the fighters and ground troops had been destroyed, Gavyn went dwon to the planet again, this time bringing his best troops with him for defense. He went down in his shuttle, and then got off and approached the meating build where his brother was. He wqondered what he would think now. He alked into the room, and his borther stood there, holding 2 Vibroblades.
"Leave you guards outside. We are now going to see if you are worthy of an alliance. That was quite impressive what you did out there, but this is the final test. We fight until the death." Gavin said.
Gavyn stepped forwards."So be it."
He quickly grabbed the Vibroblade, and backed up into a defensive stance, and waited for his borther to launch the first move. He would win, and then Kubindi would be undert their control. It wouldn't be long now.

Meanwhile...
Gavyn gaurd had headed out, and they were going to do something while they could. They were the elite of the elite, so they decided to infiltrate the maincommand centre on Kubindi t see what they could find in the files. Thomas Horn, who was one of them, knew that they knew something about them that made them not want to side with the Mon Cal Republic, and he wanted to find out what.

The two brothers stood watching each other, watching each other closely, waiting for the perfect time to strike. Then Gavin charged. He was very quick, and slashed towards Gavyn shoulder. Gavyn had had plenty of training with Vibroblades, though, and he was very experienced with one. He blocked the shot and countered it with a slash towards Gavin midsection, but his brother was more skilled than he thought. He blocked the shot and swept the blade down towards Gavyn's feet. Gavyn jumped and blocked the slash, bringing his blade around to his brothers shoulder. Again it ws blocked. The battle would continue like this for a long time. With two very skilled combatants, no one knew who would win.

With the elites...
Thomas Horn had taken a temporary command of the elites, and they all followed behind him. He was probably the most skilled of them, all, so it would be right for him to tkae command. They now approached the palace building and were preparing to infiltrate. They knew how to sneak around the guards, but that did notmean that it would be easy. The palace would likely be very heavily guarded, so they would need to use the best of their abilities. What they didn't know is that they were expected. That could give them major problems.
The group split up into several smaller gruops and headed off. They needed to travel in small packs or they would be found. They were each armed with a small blaster cannon, a vibroblade, and a wrist rocket launcher. They were hoping that they wouldn't have to use any of the weapons, but that was unlikely. Thomas's group was to enter the back of the building through the garden there. They would be able to hide behind plants, and so they would not be seen very easily.
Each of the groups also had an excellent hacker, so that they could get into the files tosee the info. All they needed to do was to find the data computer.
As Thomas's group rounded a corner they heard voices up ahead. They heard two Kubaz discussing about the people that were supposedly infiltrating tthe palace. So they knew!! Thomas quickly jumped out and sliced both of them down with his vibroblade, then motioned the other 4 people in his gorup t follow. They would not be able to get in without killing someone now...

Gavyn was lokced in battle with his brother.He didn't want to kill him, but he knew it was neccesary. And his brother wanted to kill him. He wondered what Teebo would do. But he put that out of his mind as he concecntrated on blocking his brothers blows. He blocked high left, then countered with a slash at his brothers right knee, followed by another blow to his neck. Both were blocked with ease. This battle could contine for a very long while. hey had started in the main hallway, but now they were in some kind of enclosed chamber. It was dark, and had catwalks all around it. Gavyn wondered what it was. He would figure it out later. Right now he had a battle to fight. His brother had been luring him up onto the catwalk for resons unknown. Gavyn continued his assault with slash after slash. Then he landed a pwoerful blow that his brother barely bolcked. His borthers vibroblade was knocked out of his hand, and it fell down a deep pit in the center of the room. Gayvn raised his blade to deliver the killling blow, but then bakced away. He could not kill his own brother. He backed off. His borhter jumped up and drew out another balde, attacking again. Gavyn was beginning to wish he had killed him when he had the chance.

At the palace...
Thomas's group of elites had just enetered insied, and now they wre walking catiously down the hallwas, searching for guards. They couldn't be found, or the mssion would fail. They had to be very careful. Thoms peered around a corner and saw 2 guards standing there, waiting. They whole palace knew they were coming. Thomas jumped out ands severed their hjeads with his blade, then his group continued down the hall. At the rate it was going they would never find a computer. Thomas thought it would probably be in the m,ain control room, which was at the top of the building., They still had a long way to go yet...

Gavyn was getting pushed away. His brother had dug down, and was now attacking in a fury of slashes. Gavyn was not sure how long he could hold off. It wasn't an easy task, fighting his brother. But he knew he would win. Or at least he hoped he would. His brother continued his assault as if he was trying to drive Gavyn somewhere. Then he remembered the pit in the center of the room. He was going to push him in! Gavyn quickly blocked the next shot, and lashed out towards his brothers head. His borther blockied the blow, but stumbled, giving Gavyn enough time to reverse the tide of the battle and start on the offensive. He quickly launched slash after slash, aiming to drive him and his borther as fire away from the pit as possible. He pushed him into another room, except this one was worse. It was where the power generators were, and there was catwalks everywhere. It was a long way down to the bottom. If he fell off, he owuld surely die. There they fought, the two excellent combatants, and they would fight until the death. Gavyn was on the offensive for the time being, throwing slash asfter slash at his brother. He just narrowly missed, drawing blood from his brothers left arm. The battle continued for a long time, narrow missses and barely blocked blows. Gavyn was not sure if it would ever end.

At the palace...
Thomas's group had now moved up to the second floor, and they were still going. The guards were growing in number as the went, and it was getting more dangerous. They stilled killed each of them before they could report in the positions, but soon Thomas was afraid that they would end up in a huge dogfight. He was not sure if they could win that. But never the less, he continued, killing gurad after guard. When he peared around the next corner, he nearly missed getting his head taken off from a blaster. There was at least ten guards standing there, and they were all ready. There was no point in being quiet now. He used his wrist rocket to blow the guards away. Now they had been found. Alarms rang throughout the building. They would have to move very quickly.

Gavyn continued the battle with his brother. They were locked deep in combat, and paid no attention to their surroundings. Gavyn launched blow after blow, but none connected with flesh. Both of the combatants were bruised and bleeding, with torn clothes. Gavyn slashed high towards his brothers head, and then kicked him in the shin, dropping him to the floor. He went to slash his brother across the back, but his brother quickly flipped over and blocked the blow, and then he stood up. His brother began on the offensive again, and kept slashing. Now Gavyn was the one in trouble. But he did not panic. He continued to block each blow, and then he countered one with a stab towards his brothres midsection. His brother jumped aside, and brought his blade down on Gavyn's, while slasingout with his foot, dumping Gavyn to the floor. Gavyn quickly stood back up, just in time to block another blow.

At the palace...
The alarms wrang everywhere as Thomas asnd his group of elites raced dwon the hall. They could here the foootsteps of some guards behind them. Thomas stopped around a corner and took out his balde. The guards ran right into it and were severed in half. Thomas continued to run. They needed to get u to the main room. They would be dead if they did not do it soon. Now it was not about finding some files. It was about survival. If they did not survive, well... MCR might not get Kubindi. And Teebo would not be very happy about that. They continued to run, searching for a stairwell, or a turbolift. They needed to get up soon. Asd they rounded a corner, they were again greeted with blster fire. They quickly drew out their own blasters and downed the guards before any damage was done. Thomas was not sure how much farther they could go...

On board Death's Shadow...
Jonathan Baggins was given control of the MC-300 Battlecuiser <I.Death's Shadow[/i] while Gavyn was dwon on the planet of Kubindi. He had jusst recieved the report that Gavyn was dueling with his brother and the elites were trying to take the palace. That was not good. What if Gavyn died? He didn't want to take over permanently for him. He just had to hope that he survived. Then a young officer spoke up.
"Sir, we have several ships dropping out of hyperspace.It appears that they are... MCR TIE Defenders!"
"Good. They must be frewsh out of the-"
"Sir, there is moe ships coming in. There is 10 Corellian Gunships, 20 YT-1300 Stock Light Freighters and an Imperial-Class Star Destroyer with loaded fighters!!"
"Don't panic. Tell the fighters that just arrived to engage the enemies fighters. Now open fire on that Star Destroyer."
Blue Ion fire shot out form the shisp, and quickly took down the lone Star Destroyers shields. The some Proton Torpedos were launched and it exploded into a huge fireball, taking a Gunship with it. The rest of the Gunships started firing on an Aegis Cruiser. Allmof the ships in Defender Fleet quickly opened fire and blew up the gunships before they could do too much damage. The Aegis Cruiser was now running at 75% shields, so it didn't take too much damage.

Severa minuteds later...
All of the enemy fighters had been destroyed without a single Mon Cal loss. It was a good day fore the Mon Cal Republic.
