The speeder pulled into the large parking deck close to the top of the tall corporate building. It effortlessly slipped in among the countless speeders already parked there. After maneuvering through the mess of parked speeders this new one moved into the visitor parking sections.

Once parked, the police speeders doors opened and out stepped two men. One wore a black suit and white shirt, while the other, as always, wore a long beige trench coat with a dress shirt and tie underneath. Together the two men moved towards the exit and entered the building. Near the enterance they waited for the turbolift and when inside took it all the way down towards the reception lobby.

They knew Mr. Thule was in the office today and wanted to get a talk with him. He was of course one of the most well known businessmen on Velmor and it would be hard to get a hold of him. Detective Toulin hoped that having Agent Ilonias here would help to convince the man to see them.

The two men stepped out of the turbolift and moved towards the reception desk. Almost at the same time, both pulled out their badges and showed them to the receptionist sitting there.

"I'm Detective Toulin and this is Special Agent Ilonias. We are here to have a word with Mr. Thule."

It had taken some doing, but both the Detective and Special Agent were now on their way upto Thule's office. At first it was said told them that Mr. Thule was not available. That he had gone on vacation to one of the planet's island resorts. This fact, however, was quickly disproven when it was noticed that a schedule lay before the secretary and on it was a meeting scheduled to begin in just a few hours.

When this was mentioned, the secretary stumbled on her excusses and began to go on about Mr. Thule being too busy to talk now and they would have to make appoinments for later. Before the Detective could respond, Special Agent Ilonias had leaned towards the woman and told her that if she wasn't honest with them and let them go up to Thule's office she could be arrested on the spot before being taken directly to a Velmorian Interigation Center. He asked her if perhaps she would be more honest and forthcoming there.

With that said, she quickly pointed them in the direction of the proper turbolift and actived the code to open the door. Before the door closed, they could both hear her called upto Thule's office to let him know. It was abvious quickly, by her expression, that the man was most angry with her. Once the large door had finally closed, both men took out their weapons and made sure they were ready to be fired. This was the time to be causious since both thought this was their guy.

As expected, Thule was awaiting them as they stepped into the lavishly appointed office. He stood at an expensive glass bar and was pour three glasses of what seemed to be offworld liqiors. He slowly turned towards them in a perfectly calm way, as if nothing was wrong. In each hand was a drink.

"Gentlemen, welcome. Please have a drink. What can I do for you today?" The rich man said.

Both the detective and Ilonias waved the glasses away quickly. "We're on the job, none of that for us at the moment, thank you though. Perhaps some other time. We were just conducting a file scan and would like to ask you some questions regarding your background."

The man took a small pause as he heard this, but kept on walking towards the bar to set the drinks down and retrieve his own. He turned with the crystal glass in his hand and sipped at the rare alcohol.

"What is it that you wish to know? I'd be more than glad to help clear up anything you need."

Oliver studied the man's eyes as he spoke. After so many years on the police force, he knew how to read people and how to follow his instincts. At this moment, his instincts were screaming at him not to belive this man. It was nothing in the man's eyes. He was lieing, but doing a very good job of it, as it trained in the proper ways. Everything about this man standing before them felt wrong to the Detective. Thule was so cool and composed that he wasn't even braking a sweat. Of course the man could be telling the truth, but even truthfull individuals often times feared getting visits from the police, let along a detective and a special agent from intelligence.

"Well, Mr. Thule, we were going over some files and it was noticed that your parents didn't have backgrounds. In fact, they were not alive at all. There are no records showing either of them being born. It seemed to be that way for every family member listed in your files. Could you explain why this could be the case?"

"I don't really know. My parents moved away from Velmor five years ago, but I would see if I can reach them and ask them. Maybe something was messed up your end? I know my people delete of loose files every now and then." Thule replied and went towards his desk.

As Agent Ilonias watched the man, Detective Toulin produced a data pad from his pocket and actived it. "These records don't indicate anything about your parents moving off world. As you know everyone that leaves, must fill forms before doing so. If they had lived on Velmor all their lives, like your file states, they would have known this fact."

"I don't know what to tell you gentlemen. Your files are wrong."

"Perhaps it would be best if you come down to the station and we can talk about it more. It would be easier to sort this matter out there." The Detective stated and stepped a little towards the desk.

"Am I being put under arrest detective?" Mr. Thule questioned as he looked towards the man.

"Not at the moment, but I could place you under arrest if you really wish me too."

With that said the man nodded slowly and looked around. "Let me get my things and I'll go with you."

Mr. Thule's "things" happened to be several blasters- including one holdout one that wouldn't show up on a weapons scan hidden up his sleeve, the place most "pat downs" were least likely to check, and a very convenient place as well. After fixing them all to his person, he grabbed a pre-packed suitcase in his office (something no businessman should ever be without) and marched downstairs to the waiting Agent Ilonas.

"Roxine, cancel my appointments for the next two days reschedule them for a later date, and call my business partners and tell them of my predicament. Have my lawyer sent up to the station first, though."

He turned to Oliver. "I believe gentlemen, that I am ready to go."

After the man returned, both the detective and agent acknowledged this and also the fact that he had emerged with his bag. It was curious as to why someone innocent would think they would be taken to jail to the point of taking their bags. Because of this Toulin was cautious and monitored Mr. Thule as best he could.

After some minutes, all the men were on their way to the station, with Thule safely sitting at the back, completely cut off from the rest of the police speeder. They drove without a word, but a call through the comm system broke that silence.

"Detective Toulin, this is CommCent Three Three. Is there any reason why you are transmitting a signal on all emergency frequencies?"

The Detective and Special Agent exchanged looks, not knowing what the other person was talking about. All the sudden something clicked inside Detective Toulin's head and he quickly turned back towards Mr. Thule.

The Imperial-V class Star Destroyer Administrator and her accompanying squadron of support vessels were in orbit above the planet Thisspas when they received the distress signal. After a short exchange between the ship's computer core and a fleet supercomputer on the planet in order to triangulate the origin of the transmission, a printout of it's origin was spit out by one of the bridge's printers. Half an hour later, a set of orders were spit out from one of Gliford's few superiors in the region to investigate the source of the transmission and if necessary, defend/liberate the distressed owner of the distress beacon.

In addition, tacked on to the bottom of the printout, almost as if an afterthought, were orders to liberate the planet- Imperial Style- in the process of achieving the above goals if it did not interfere with the investigation and possible rescue.

Damn, he thought, and to think I had leave coming up in just two days...

And then they were off.

Gilford was not a happy camper when they reached the planet. He'd had two days until three weeks leave and it had had to be belayed in order for the investigation to take place. He'd had plans to visit his family on Borleias, and then go on a luxurious two-week long Star Cruise through some of the most beautiful parts of space in all of the Unknown region.

He wasn't in a mood to take shit. As soon as they'd entered a stable orbit, he begun the traditional Imperial announcement that they had arrived to "Liberate" the system.

"This is Admiral Tobias Gilford of the Imperial Navy. You will immediately deactivate all ground to orbit weaponry. All military vessels in orbit will stand down and prepare to be boarded. Surface-based units will move to the nearest enemy base and prepare to be handed over to Imperial forces. Any attempts to resist will be met with maximum resistance...
