(OOC:If you wish to enter this RP, IM me over AIM. Basically you can expect to be allowed enterance if you have had dealings with Hapes in the past, or if you wish to pay hommage to the new Queen Mother of Hapes. If you can't contact me, just jump in, but remember, no fighting etc.

Your first post should be entering the Ballroom from the Queen Mothers Gardens to greet the Royal entourage, before continuing on to the party.)

Hapes is a very wealthy and old society. That has had little contact with the rest of the galaxy for more than 3,000 years. Encompassing 100's of governments and thousands of cultures, the Cluster was first settled thousands of years ago by pirates-- the Lorell Raiders-- who seized beautiful women to be their mates. Male descendents continued as pirates for generations until their forces were decimated by the Jedi Knights. Women then took control of the Cluster, and the inherited leadership title of Queen Mother was initiated. The first Queen Mother began construction on Star Home, an enormous castle like spaceship, about 3,000 years before Galactic civil War. Successive Queen Mother's brought other changes to the Hapan Culture, especially Teneniel Djo, who began the process of integrating Dathomirian and Hapan cultures together.

The Fountain Palace on the planet Hapes is home to the Hapan royal family. In emergencies, they go to the secure stronghold of Reef Fortress , which is on an isolated island accessible only by boat. Hapan naval space forces include the feared Battle Dragons; for use on oceans, Hapani use the Hapan Water Dragon.

Relating to Nature: The Hapan culture goes back almost unchanged to the very first days of their civilization. For starters, the Hapans are very nature loving and aware of their surroundings. Unlike many civilizations the Hapans have always built around and with the nature on their planet, which is the reason why Hapes is one of the loveliest planets around. Lots of time and energy is put in to the caring of their plants, forests and other natural surroundings. The Hapans also are very fond of flowers, especially roses. There are all sorts of roses on Hapes, from red, yellow and the normal colors to a blue rose that changes red when it is touched. Next to the very honorable jobs such as in the military and government are the jobs that take care of their great gardens.

Honor: Honor and pride are also a very large part of Hapan society. If a Hapan gives you his/her honorable word that he/she will hold a promise, then not even in the face of death will he/she break it. This has proven to be one of the backbones in Hapan culture that has been a solid building stone for both the civilian side of life as well as the military. Although the Hapans are peaceful, they still hold a very powerful military, it's only task is to protect their borders from pirates and smugglers trying to get Hapan artifacts out to sell on the black market. The Hapans, however, set a brutal example when it comes to such a situation; killing or taking prisoner those attempting to sneak into the Cluster. No prisoner has yet lived to tell a tale.

Of course honor also puts huge support on the Hapan monarchy. A Hapan officer would rather die for his/her Queen, than survive the fight in which the Queen dies. To fight for the Queen, or to be in the royal military, is alone considered an honor. The Royal Honor Guard, this is the Queen's body/personal guard, are very much favored. Should a Royal Honor Guard die whilst saving the Queen's life, they and their family are blessed for over three generations to come.

Slavery/Slaves: Although Dathomir used to enslave men, that was abolished completely, especially with New Republic influence. Slaves, if found on ships entering Hapan space unauthorized, are freed and given asylum within Hapan borders, or allowed to return home in peace. Slavers, however, are often given brutal treatment when captured. Slavery is an abhorrent activity to the Hapan people, and not even tolerated. If visiting other cultures (which would be rare if at all) that condone slavery, Hapans are highly offended and either stop all trade with that culture, sometimes even going to war with them to end this travesty.

Difference between Hapan and Humans: Hapan are humans which are native to the planet Hapes. They differ from normal humans in two ways. First, they are considered quite handsome and beautiful as a race. Second, they are unable to see well in the dark because of the fact that the planet Hapes is continually bathed in light, either from its sun or from the seven moons that orbit the planet.

Homeworld: Hapes was originally settled by a group of pirates called the Lorell Raiders, the planet Hapes later became a neutral system when the Jedi Knights wiped out the Raiders when they started making raids into Old Republic supply centers. The surviving women swore never to let a man run the government following this defeat. This also began the anti-Jedi sentiment seen on Hapes today. The system was later overrun by the Empire, but Ta'a Chume (the Queen Mother at the time) built a powerful armed force and drove the Imperials out. The planet orbits the star Hapes, and has been the seat of the Hapan government for as long as anyone can remember. The planet has seven moons. The average day on Hapes lasts 22 standard hours, and the year on Hapes encompasses 240 local days.

Special: The Hapans are known for their belligerence. Hapan also have highly-polished black armor with silver trim, that is worn by the cyborg warriors from Charubah.

Language: Hapan

Traditions: Hapan women are more highly represented than the men. Men are lucky to be allowed in the military. Hapan royal women, or noblewomen, are allowed to take as many husbands as they like. Some women don't bother with marriage ceremonies for some of their men, which is looked on with tolerance. The wealthier and more prestigious the woman, usually the larger harem of men. It has become a sign of status for women of such stature to have more than one man by which to have heirs by. Female heirs are highly prized whereas male heirs are often married to female heirs of other Houses to help strengthen one's House with wealth and family connections.

Leadership Roles: The leader of each House is responsible for delivering justice to the people she rules over. She also must protect the family honor and deal out punishment (sometimes even death) to those who would commit crimes against her family, lands, and people. She cannot show sympathy in these matters, or else show herself to be too weak to protect those the House is sworn to. Any Lady unable to deliver proper punishment is charged with treason to her House and people by the Queen Mother and the Royal Council and banished from her House to a lower position (such as field worker or House servant). The House will then go to the next heir or allowed to be absorbed into another House.

Chances are as each member of the galactic elite received their invitations to a massive Gala event on the planet Hapes, they would have looked at something like this. Hapes and the Cluster itself were unique, both in history and future. And one of the most beautiful things about Hapes, apart from the Hapans themselves, was the Fountain Palace.

The Fountain Palace is truly one of the most beautiful and oldest buildings in the galaxy. Its sprawling layout includes room for over 500 dignitaries and their attendant support staff in exhultant luxury. Thousands of servants and guards maintain the Palace in the name of the Queen Mother and the ruling Crowned Prince, toiling day and night to maintain it to their ancient satisfaction. Most spectacular of all the rooms in the Palace is the Fountain Ballroom. It lies adjacent to the Royal Dining Room, and overlooks the massive gardens of the Queen Mother TaaChume through massive 'walls' of the purest Crystal, reaching up 10 metres to the ornate roof of the structure. The intricate golden platinum outlook of the Ballroom, along with its size, makes it one of the most aweinspiring places in the galaxy to dine and dance the night away.

And tonight the celebrations would be on the most regal scale possible, as it was the presentation to the greater galaxy of the new Queen Mother, Jasmine Darksword.

OOC, if any of the stuff I post here confuses you, read Vandelheim.

He checked his invite again. The delicate paper crinkled between his hands – yes, this was the place. He looked up. There couldn’t be any other place. Towers rose, and the roof of the gigantic palace glistened in the sunlight.

Stepping forward, Admiral Katta entered the Garden gate. The air was filled with sweat aromas, and small birds. Many people were gathered in the gardens, making small talk amongst themselves. Kas tried to keep a fairly low profile as he entered. His brief re-study on the Happen culture had led him to believe that they might not like the fact the he was a force user.

Force… strange thing to call it. It’s no more special than my hand is…
But no matter. Just avoid attention, and the earning should pass pleasantly.

The memories of his past life told him how to act. Gracious, quiet.
Dressed in the formal suit of the Broaden people - or rather, the formal suit of the Vinda Corporation, Kas made a striking figure. His coat was a deep blue, and his pants were colored the same, with threads of a deeper red sewn in on the sides.

There were people visible through the enormous crystal walls overlooking the palace, but no visible door that he could discern. Probably on the wrong side of the house…

After a while of social chit chat with several representatives, Kas began to wonder what to do next. Everyone seemed to be gathered here for a purpose, yet they all had some sort of food, or drink. He hadn’t noticed any tables about either. He sent out a small tendril of his mind, seeking to sense where the main body of people were. And how to get into the main house.

Ahhhh…. There was a side door through all that greenery. He sensed his exploration, and strode toward the shrubbery hidden entrance. Putting a hand out, he brushed some ivy aside, and entered.

"Ahhh, Kas Katta. Admiral of VC and a compatriot of mine a Seinar!"

As Kas emerged he saw a line of Hapan Royalty, all waiting to greet him. At the head was the Crown Prince of Hapes, Dakkon Darksword. Behind them hundreds of people danced, waiters deftly ducking and weaving their way around the revellers, the occassional dancer pausing with his partner to take a drink or some small appetiser.

"Welcome to the Fountain Ballroom."

His hand reached out, seizing that of the VC represenatives in a heart shake.

"Enjoy yourself, my wife shall be joining us shortly. She will wish to talk to you about VC, among other things. She has to pick up Vessanas skill for networking!"

Zedarr Darksword, Colonel of the Grand Hapan Army, and head of Shadow Ops. Truly these royal get togethers where not high on his list of things to do, but exceptions and appearance had to be made.

Zedarr found himself in the royal garden in formal military dress. Black uniform with silver accents, and a ceremonial saber strapped at his waist. He was a model soldier and quite dashing to boot. Zedarr carried with him the bloodline of the royal family and along with that their striking good looks.

Meandering around the garden Zedarr found himself at peace. It would be a fun evening he told himself, and just maybe he would find some entertainment in one of the female party guests. Zedarr absent-mindedly wandered through the rose garden and found that he had almost walked past his favorite part. Truly the color changing roses were a sight to behold, and on this afternoon they looked exceedingly beautiful. Zedarr stopped momentarilly to watch the roses change from blue to red as he touched them, and then forced himself to move on.

Zedarr knew his way around the gardens well enough and was soon walking up the steps towards the ballroom. Ahead of him was his cousin and Prince of Hapes, Dakkon.

As Dakkon spoke to Admiral Katta, he saw his cousin approach.

"Ahh, cousin, I have someone I would like you to meet. Colonel Zedarr Darksword, meet Admiral Kas Katta of Seinar and Vinda Corporations.

Perhaps you two might find something interesting to discus..."

With a smile, Dakkon saw that a waiter served them as they wandered off into the ballroom discussing all matters military.

<font color=lime>"hmmm, gotta' love that smell" <font color=white>Said Ren after drawing his head up from a bed of roses.

<font color=lime>"I've been to hundreds of worlds and I've yet to find something to top that aroma."

<font color=white>Ren gazed up into the sky and let the warm glow of the sun bathe his face. He was glad to be back. Since his posting here some time back, Hapes had become his new home. It reminded him of his younger years on Ithor, gliding above the tropical forests and fruitfull plains of the land.More than anything else he'd created friendships here, although one now that could never continue. He missed Vessana greatly, she left a long lasting imprint on him and on her people. From time to time Ren could still feel her presence out there, blowing across the air when he silenced his mind, that set him at ease.

Ren was decked out in his full Hapan military regalia, in fact he looked so smart, anyone would have thought he was of a Hapes bloodline. Over his uniform he wore his traditional Jedi robes and black gloves. . .he felt a sight overdressed for this event. Some of the passing dignitaries shot Ren the strangest looks you'd ever see this side of the cluster. Being a Jedi was not the best conversation starter in this place.

Meeting Dak again would surely be the highlight of his stay, however this could quickly become a very difficult evening.

...Hapes...

He had been to the world only once, long ago, before the events that had transformed the son of a corrupt government official into the most powerful businessman in the galaxy. That had been years ago, and he had been with his father on that one and only visit.

Now, as his shuttle (appropritaly named New Dawn) settled into the atmosphere of the Hapan Capitol, he smiled. This was, he remembered, a wonderful world; alive with life and masterful artworks of buildings.

Unlike Coruscant, which was covered in mile-high towers and masses of cold, grey metal, or Eriadu, with its industries and pollution, Hapes was a gem. Ice-blue oceans covered the landscapes, only to flow into the brown and green masses of land.

A gem, indeed.

<hr>

The shuttle set down on the private landing pad reserved for the LFX Industrial representitive, and her passengers disembarked quickly. He was never a man to be late for such an important occasaion.

Jai Solo strolled through the beautiful gardens of the palace takeing in the breathtakeing layout of the amazing botanical maze. She passed other people and creatures here and there, but no one stopped to said hello or make small talk. It was only because they didn't recognize her, she assumed.

Jai usually went everywhere in "Smuggler Garb" as she liked to call it, which was just a more girly replica of the style of clothes her father use to wear. However, today Jai had gone all out. She'd made a trip to Coruscant and went shopping with her mother---to the finest ladies' boutiques and plazas---and bought an amazing outfit.

It was Alderaanian silk, soft blue, and it had a slight sheen to it when the light caught it just so. It was sleeveless and cut low, to show off Jai's ample chest. It fit snug in all the right places and showed off her shapely curves. The dress came down to the floor, but a slit on the right side came clean up to Jai's thigh. Jai's handbag and heels matched perfectly. Her hair was up in matching clips, and she had a few tendrils of brownish-blonde hair that hanged down just perfectly to fame her pretty face.
She didn't look like herself...she looked ten times better.

Jai thought she'd seen Kass slip in awhile back, and she would rather hand out with a familar face than anyone else, and who better than a fellow VC'er? She made her way to where she'd seen him go in, and slipped inside...

Dakkon watched as more dignitaries flooded in. Jaina Corellia Han Solo, the greatest smuggler this side of Kessel among them. He also spotted Ren, just a Rogue Jedi padawan when he first came to Hapes as an Intelligence Operative, and now the Chief Executive Officer of the largest R&D and technology company in the galaxy, Sienar Corporation.

Also amongst the newcomers was Seti Ashar, leader of the Former Galactic Defence Initiative and probably one of the richest men in the galaxy. Then again, LFX did jointly control Gallinore with Hapes, and a single rainbow gem was worth a whole MonCal Star Cruiser.

Dakkon nodded to the Baron on his left, and dismissed himself from the line of royalty. Spotting Jaina, Dakkon felt the need to reintroduce himself. He came up behind her before speaking.

"Jaina Corellia Han Solo, my my you look ravishing tonight!"
  • Posted On: Dec 13 2002 7:06am
Jai turned and met Dakkon with a brilliant smile and a slight blush from his flattering words.

"Why Dak Darksword...as I live and breathe! Or should I adress you as 'Prince Dakkon'? And me? Ravishing?"
She blushed a little deeper, "Flattery will get you everywhere, Prince...but not with me."
She flashed him a sexy, sly smirk.
"It's good to see you agian, Dakkon, but it looks like your groupies are getting restless."
