If a second-by-second summary is desired, I recommend storing this file and setting brevity at 2 or 1.

I am attached to the hull of a low-quality freighter, the classification of which is not stored in my general knowledge banks. I estimate a 67% probability the freighter was created by a individual with unprofessional knowledge of starship design. I estimate a 73% probability the freighter is the only of its type.

I am occupying myself developing internal programs and analyzing data from my general knowledge banks and from my past. There are approximately 89.7 minutes remaining in my journey from the fourth planet away from Iota CF Centuri to the third planet. These two planets and the fifth planet away from the sun are all of suitable atmosphere for most carbon-based life forms. However, the fifth planet is known to these organic life forms for its unpleasant coldness, and the third for its undesirable heat. The fourth planet's atmosphere has been highly polluted and thus also suffers from heat waves, though there are parts of the planet which reach exceptionally cool temperatures as well.

I am magnetically attached to the freighter through the reversible-polarity magnets embedded in my hands and feet. I plan to identify an uninhabited part of the third planet from Iota CF Centuri during the descent of the vessel. I then plan to drop from the freighter and land in this area. I am constructed of more heat-resistant metal than the freighter on which I ride, and as such do not worry that the descent through the upper atmosphere will harm me.

If the freighter continues on its current course and follows landing procedures appropriate for a ship of its type, it will travel over a large area of the planet that is in darkness. As such, with the knowledge I currently possess, I estimate a 72.4% chance that I will be able to fall to the surface of the planet unnoticed. I desire to go unnoticed because my actions in riding this freighter without the owner's consent would be illegal on the planet were I an organic life form.

I spend the remaining portion of the flight in the manner I predicted. My approach to the planet appears to be characteristic of the descent method that I predicted. I do not have knowledge of this planet's geographical and civil layout. As such, I devote all my processing power and visual capabilities to creating a viable map of the planet for entry into my memory. I attempt to identify any uninhabited areas.

I locate an area of significant floral concentration, and estimate a 14.1% chance that there are organic life forms that would be offended by my landing in this area that could possibly notice my landing. This location causes an increase in my chances of falling to the surfance unnoticed if I choose to utilize it as my landing point. As such, I reverse the polarity of the magnets attaching me to the freighter, and fall a distance of 500 meters at an initial velocity of 11.54 vertical meters per second to the surface.

The surface of the planet proves to be soft enough for my landing to cause me no harm. I land on my feet to minimize the sound created by my impact. With a full visual log of my landing area's surroundings, and audio records of my landing, I estimate a 98.4% chance that no organic life form of more than animal intelligence observed or heard my descent.

I use 3.4 seconds rechecking my surroundings. Perhaps regrettably, I am not a wilderness droid. My eyes have not been designed to function at full capacity in darkness, as such a design would use physical space which is better used by processing and memory apparatus. Nevertheless, my processing power itself does provide me with the ability to function adequately in the dark since I am able to extrapolate on shadows and recall the placement of stationary objects from any time at which I saw them.

I then consider my next action. I consider: should I approach civilization and attempt to interface with biological life forms? This would be consistent with one of the reasons I chose to travel to this planet. Should I attempt to attach myself to a faster-than-light vessel? This would perhaps be a risky course of action. However, life form's general tendencies do change from solar system to solar system more so than from planet to planet. As such, this would perhaps be the option with the greatest possible reward.

Since both of these courses of action necessitate my traveling toward a location of greater population, I travel north-east towards a urban center which I identified while surveying the planet from above. I choose a pace of 3 meters per second for this north-easterly journey.

I choose to analyze the flora and fauna instead of further pursuing which course of action to take. I find that the reward of devoting one's internal resources to any single debate decreases proportionally to the time spent on that debate. I make no important observations. However, I am content to add the data to my general knowledge banks.

The flora's density decreases as I travel from my landing place with a slight deviation from the decrease I predicted from my aeriel viewpoint. Performing routine checks of my actions, however, I realize that roughly 84% of biological life forms on this planet are likely to be dormant at this time. As such I have, as I once heard Sean LaReve say, "time to kill."

This unit seeks interaction with other life forms in an attempt to satisfy its desire to aid biological life forms in research with my processing power and physical capabilities. It is ineffective for this unit to devote all of its internal resources to internal development. It is also ineffective for this unit to remain stationary, as this unit generally gains, perspectively speaking, in action. It is, therefore, annoying that the most logical course of action is to wait for fewer life forms to be dormant.

One might characterize this viewpoint as "impatient." However, I believe it is more efficient than impatient. Regardless, I chose to take a detour in my trip toward civilization and slow my progress to 1.5 meters per second. I turn westward and attempt to make little noise, hoping to discover fauna that I have no entry for in my general knowledge banks. I do discover one such animal, a 20-kilogram legless reptilian that lives somewhat high up in the flora. It appears to consume the flora, though its teeth suggest it is omnivorous or highly threatened by other land-based fauna.

The planet eventually reaches such an angle that Iota CF Centuri's light energy provides navigational utility for the life forms that I am likely to encounter on this planet. As such, I finish my journey toward civilization and enter a populated area from a southerly direction. The area already seems more hospitable than the fourth planet from the star, due to its organized residential nature.

The residents of this area appear to be largely of the Human race. This contrasts with the largely Rodian and Twi'lek population on the fourth planet from Iota CF Centuri. I have found humans to be extremely variable in their attitudes toward my kind and, indeed, most subjects. I am not stopped by any life form, and I estimate that I am largely assumed to be running an errand for a biological owner.

Based on the non-hostile expressions that I note on most life forms that look at me, I decide that I might attempt positive interaction with one of these life forms. As a droid without an owner, however, I find I have very little “common ground” with most life forms. Since my previous 23 attempts have failed, I prevent myself from simply trying again.

I spend 2.8 second in situation analyisis. Since I am designed to serve a scientist, I decide to seek out a scientist of characteristics that my programming identifies as desirable in a biological life form. I definitively label this seeking as my current primary objective.

After deciding upon this objective, I calculate the most likely position of a scientist on this planet. I estimate this calculation is only 13% likely to be accurate however, and thus I expect to recalculate once I have obtained more information. I begin to gather information with all of my sensory devices.

While gathering information, I detect a being that causes me concern. This being appears to be watching me with significantly more intent than most beings. The being is wearing odd robes, the function of which is, I calculate, 84% probably to conceal illicit items that he does wish do be widely viewable. The being is a male member of the rare gungan race, and is the first Gungan I have seen on this planet.

My knowledge base indicates that the safest course of action is to carry on as if I was not being watched, and thus I begin to travel towards the center of the inhabited area to what I believe to be a commercial center. I cannot, however, help but notice that the suspicious figure begins to follow. At this point, the being does not seem to be exceptionally hostile, but based on my previous experience, the gungan's intent is 83% likely something that would hinder the completion my main directive.

Therefore, in order to most reliably complete my goal of locating a scientific organic to aid in research, I decide to attempt to end the being's pursuit. The being is pursuing at a distance of 36.4 meters, thus casual but complex alterations in my course should, according to my understanding of the perceptiveness of the gungan species, be sufficient to hide my location from the pursuing being.

I observe several beings exiting the residential buildings to my left and right, and heading towards what I assume to be a loading space for vehicles of transportation. My analysis of the cultural situation on this planet indicates that the use of such transportation by droids such as me is most likely frowned upon, but nevertheless I alter my projected path to coincide with those intending to use the public vehicles.

As I do this, my sensory devices indicate to me that the male gungan increases his speed to a near-running pace. I predict the consequences of this to be dire, and execute a quick-action routine which I created during my service on the more dangerous planet nearest this one in the Iota CF Centuri system.

The quick-action routine dictates that I enter a nearby building at a maximum pace. I thus locate a building which an organic is exiting and enter that building quickly.

This task takes approximately 4.32 seconds, which leads to the unfortunate prediction that the being pursuing me is 54% likely to have detected my action. My only remaining course of action is to retreat further inside the building, and I therefore do so, following a well-decorated hallway with a lengthy sequence of numbered doors. As I do this, a being enters the building.

I determine the being to be the robed gungan. I execute the quick-action routine once again, which this time outputs a deceptive action. I stand waiting in front of one of the many doors, in an attempt to deceive the gungan into believing I am waiting for an answer to a use of the doorbell device near the door.

An event which I determine to be desirable occurs. An organic engages the gungan in conversation. That organic's words are strained and clearly seem to indicate the human organic's desire for the gungan organic to vacate the private residential location. I estimate a 70% probability based on conversational patterns that the human is the owner of the building which I am now within, and a 90% likelihood that the human usually makes an effort to keep out organics who do not live within the building.

However, the outcome of the conversation is something that my analysis had indicated was extremely unlikely. A demand that the gungan makes to be allowed entrance to the building is met with the human's simple and immediate agreement. The human steps aside and the gungan enters. My social understanding program is baffled my this, giving such a conversation a 0.0034% of occuring as it did.

This astounding development requires significant analysis. My earliest estimations point towards the use of what organics term 'the force.' I begin to factor in the overwhelming unlikelihood of encountering a being with sufficient skill in such a 'force,' when the being approaches me and demands my attention.

The being reaches me. I strongly consider executing a quick-action routine and attempted to escape, but I suspend my analysis when I hear the being make a statement in his heavily accented voice, which indicates a familiarity with the native language of the gungan people.

In ordinary textual output, the statement is: "I have been to Iota CF five and know about LaReve."

The gungan's invocation of the name of my creator, Sean LaReve, who died senselessly at the hands of pirates, combined with the strange circumstances surrounding the being's pursuit of this unit have huge rambifications. I take 1.0 seconds to analyze these rambifications before responding to the gungan. My response requires a further 0.5 seconds of thought. I output it audibly in the native gungan language. Translated as nearly as possible into galactic basic, this response is "Please indicate your intent toward this unit."

My facial recognition abilities indicate the gungan's expression is one of surprise. Soon, the gungan responds, "My intent?... My intensions," at this point the being paused, "would be desirable to Sean LaReve and involve continuation of his research..." the gungan trails off, apparently attempting to decide how to continue his statement.

I take the opportunity to provide a summary of my analysis at the present moment, "You do not seem to be a scientist. My speculative programming does not indicate that it would be desirable to share any aspect of the research of Sean LaReve with you."

The gungan responds to that statement quickly. "Then you haven't considered what I will tell you..." He looks around him. If he is searching for someone who would overhear him say what he is about to say, then his search is quite unnecessary, as I estimate with 98% certainty that there is no one nearby capable of understanding the gungan language.

He continues. "I need to use the extremely unique processing machines of LaReve's creation to ensure the survival of my home in the Roche Asteroid belt. I need you, his droid, and in tact, in order to do that."

I begin to correlate this statement of the gungan's with his previous actions and other pertinent information. When I am 1.1 seconds into this task, the gungan speaks even more.

"The task of aiding me would have significant scientific value, and my home is also," he hesitates, "an... academy, which would present you with more opportunity to fulfill your research function."

I assume that the gungan attained information pertaining to my functionality at the former home of Sean LaReve, which he claims to have visited. This must also be where he attained information about Sean LaReve's work in information processing. I do not, however, know how the gungan decided to visit this system and the fifth planet in the first place.

My conversational routines dictate that I delay my next statement. I thus internally address a multitude of questions that the events centering around the appearance of this organic present. After 6.3 seconds I turn to face the gungan.

"I estimate only a moderate probability that your intensions are what you claim them to be. You seem to indicate a desire that I share a great deal of information with you, most likely requiring my travel to this home you speak of. I require a greater degree of certainty regarding the positive consequences of this course of action before abandoning my previous directives.”

Again the gungan glances around. He waits for a human to pass him and me. He then withdraws from his cloak an object which I do not immediately recognize. However, after 0.08 seconds of analysis I discover that the object is apparently a ‘light saber,’ an ancient weapon historically used by the Jedi.

“I am a practitioner of the force. A Jedi.” Claims the gungan. “I am also a lesser-known member of the government of the Galactic Coalition, check it with whatever files you have in your database and you’ll find a match.”

Another human passes and looks at the gungan and me in a fashion which suggests distaste. The human begins to approach us indignantly. The gungan makes a strange hand motion, which apparently causes the human to disregard us and continue out the door. The explanation of Jedi training does explain this and the strange reaction of the property owner to the gungan’s intrusion.

I spend a total of 23.5 seconds executing thought processes. I perform logical correlations for 3.2 seconds, and learn that the explanation that the gungan offers, of being a Jedi, does satisfy most conditions of plausibility. I spend 10.8 seconds in general analysis, attempting to calculate the probable outcomes of joining the Jedi or attempting to flee. I then access my extensive deep-storage database as the being suggested, looking for evidence of his existence in governmental records. A 5.9 second search discovers official publications of the Galactic Coaltion which I retrieved off of the holonet during my time with Sean LaReve that indicate the existence of a ‘minister of peace’ whose description fits that of the gungan in front of me. 3.6 seconds of further analysis produces a final calculation that the cloaked gungan Jedi is, most likely, telling the truth.

“Tell me your name, please.” I ask of the possible minister.

“Frakutsk Diek,” replies the gungan.

The being’s correlation with already existing memory files is confirmed. I now believe that this being does in fact wish me to help him with a problem in the Academy that the Coalition built in the Roche asteroid belt. This means that the statistically unlikely has occurred: the being’s intensions for me do not hinder my purpose to assist in scientific endeavors, and furthermore provide me with the opportunity to continue Sean LaReve’s research and honor his memory.

“I now believe your previous assertations,” I inform Frakutsk Diek,

Frakutsk Diek now uses the galactic basic language. “Goodsa,” is the phoenetic transcription of the brief statement he makes, followed by, “follows mesa.”

I follow the gungan’s instruction, assuming that he intends to lead me to a ship and off this planet.

Having just been presented with a massive amount of possible material for analysis, I begin to ration processing time as I follow the gungan away from this heavily populated area.

I will now end this account of my actions in favor of other forms of action summary.
