Axis and Allies (Ziost)

Alliance -- the position or act of conjoining
with one or more government or military parties for the
sake of a common cause.

Alliance, several alliances had been known in the galaxy before the Rogue Empire, and no doubt there would be several after. The Alliance to Restore the Galactic Order, also known as the Rebel Alliance. The Sith-Trade Federation Alliance. The Bothan-Rebel Alliance. The Muugari Pirate-Rebel Alliance. These were all common examples of alliances, but further beknownst that they could be as fragile as a newly taped glass figure, or as strong as the mightiest alloy.

A single comment uttered in a quiet hall could throw to former moral friends into a voracious combat rule in which thousands were known to die for a single cause. The cause to regain the honor lost mentioned in that hall.

It was a fool's trade, but fools were known for their unbeknownst ability of gathering funds and massive success, as is on par with the famed Han Solo, or Obi-Wan Kenobi. Perhaps equally rivaled with Luke Skywalker and Mara Jade. These are simply typical examples that are known on a galactic scale.

Though tiring and confusing they may be, alliances have been and shall be the founding point of all matters of peace...and war. When it is one who chooses for peace, and the other desiring war, then thus shall there be war between the two, and then peace again, resulting in further alliances and so on.

An alliance, gone axis, a friendship...tarnished by power. Ziost was the focal point.

A solemn cold beget the bridge of the Unforgiveable Sin, recently renamed from the Majesty of Elrond. It was the Rogue Empire's first Executor-Class Super Star Destroyer, and though only somewhat the size of the normal star destroyers of its class, it still portrayed in all of its glory the rememberance of the Civil War.

It was Vice Admiral Meriadu that was in command of the Unforgiveable Sin, and it was he who had trained with the soldiers for weeks upon weeks upon weeks on drills and exercies, preparing for this single moment in which they would destroy possibly the most dangerous target in the galaxy.

Though the Naboo Sith Order and the Rogue Empire had always formed a symbient bond, that bond could only go so far, and allow so much leniency. That leniency was being outrooted by the defilement of the galaxy by allowing these beings to allow control of the mighty Eclipse-Class Super Star Destroyer. Of course, Super was an understatement, and Rogue Imperial slang had founded it as an Ultra Star Destroyer.

To allow Sith a super laser was as if handing a mad man a gun in an Alderaan, where obviously those not wanting to be cought up in conflict would find themselves as open to it as any. It was something unable to be tolerated by the Rogue Empire, this was where the line was drawn.

Admiral Meriadu realized that hitting them most likely would result in the immediate declaration of war on the Rogue Empire, but it was nothing they had not had before, especially from fools such as the New Alliance.

Now the true battle, the true Duel of the Fates was about to rage to true heights. Tweeters and hollers from the consoles and systems within the bridge perimated the obvious fact that the Super Star Destroyer was preparing for battle.

As most would assume, the admiral believed one Star Destroyer, no matter what size, would be unable to fulfill the trick of destroying, nay, decimating the shipyards beyond repair and overcome an entire Sith fleet.

But thus the emperor had insisted, and when the emperor commanded...it was obliged. Not only was it courteous and just...it was the only logical thing to do.

His ship had been careening in hyperspace for days now, and only now, the day of the invasion, was it coming out for the true attack. With a spinning tuttle evolving to passive, lined rays of light, and then transforming into specks on a giant, black mat, the Super Star Destroyer Unforgiveable Sin gave its welcoming call to Ziost a good seven klicks away from the Sith planet and forces as was, keeping it well out of the three klicks required for weapon range.

The enormous structure that was the Ultra Star Destroyer pivoted into view, and it sent a chill down the crew of the Unforgiveable Sin, telling them definitely this would be a battle to reckon with.

Admiral Meriadu, being a handsome young man of only 36, gripped his hands over the datapad with an uneasy breath of fear as the Sith ships immediately locked onto his craft and identified him. The comms station roared to life immediately.

"Attention Rogue Imperial craft, this is the Naboo Sith Order, you are entering restricted space with hostile forces, withdraw at once or be destroyed," one of the officers had patched through from the Naboo craft. A lump formed in the admiral's throat as his thoughts traced to that of his children, of his wife home on Chandrila.

Cocking his head to the deck officer, he nodded his obvious call. "Pull us inward, do not waver...if we die...we die with honor at least," he ordered with sympathetic eyes. Sith did not grant mercy to those surrendering.

The comms officer, hearing the indication from the captain, gulped down his own fear. "Attention, Naboo Sith craft, this is the Executor-Class Star Destroyer Unforgiveable Sin, we will persist, as well as prevail. Surrender at once, or be destroyed."

There was a moment of silence and the mass of warships ahead of them seemed to mock them enticingly.

"So be it Unforgiveable Sin, you have sealed your own fate."

As if on que with the man's words, the incredible wave of three thousand Rogue Imperial star fighters raced into the system, literally littering what empty space there was with fighters.

“As you can see Lord Poreon, the Sugarcult is coming along quite well. Over here, the crew’s quarters are undergoing cosmetic finishes, and we expect the first skeleton crew to be aboard by the month’s end. Moving along sector Four B Hold Seven, some of the gullies and mess halls are being filled with their initial consumable. These long-term food stuffs should last the Eclipse nearly fifteen years!” The Rendili Corporation Chief Executive Officer raised his eyebrows at his comment while Poreon rolled his eyes.

Almost complete, Poreon had decided to make a surprise tour of the Eclipse Class Star Destroyer being built around Ziost. He had caught the building technicians off-guard. Instead of a gripping, heart pounding display on the dynamics of the sixteen kilometer Flagship, Poreon’s tour had become one boring lecture on star ship economics and the nitty-gritty details of a star ship like how many macro-gallons of paint were used to paint the hallways.

“Coming up on our left is another one of the Sugarcult’s turboshafts which can reach speeds up to 70 k/mh,” the officer boasted of his ship. Rendili Shipwrights Corporation had been hired to contract the building of the Sugarcult for their dedication to the Naboo Sith Order and for proving themselves time and time again as the most capable ship builders.

“Can you cut this crap?” said Poreon, annoyed at the textbook tour.

“I’m sorry my lord.”

“Actions, not words.”

“Yes my lord.”

A siren blared, the sound coming through a shut blast door. Seconds later, the siren went off in the chambers Poreon and the CEO were walking through. Red lights flashed next.

“The warning sirens! Ziost has been found!” screamed the CEO. He quickly began running out of the chamber.

Following quickly in pursuit, Poreon ran in disbelief. Ziost had been found, and soon the Sugarcult project would be found. Thoughts of Ziost’s tactical defenses swarmed through Poreon’s head. Ziost did have a whole lot to fend off a full-scale assault. The thoughts left Poreon’s mind momentarily as he realized something. “Why aren’t we heading towards the bridge?”

“The bridge is still not operational. That is the last thing to be built. We are going to the internal, secondary bridge. It should be safe for you and us there.” The CEO said between hurried breaths.

“This ship can’t even fire its weapons or leave its docks… I should be out with the defense force leading the resistance.”

“In the best interests of the Naboo Sith Order, we can’t let you leave this ship and be in the same vicinity as Lord Snack. It would pose as too much of a security breach.”

“I’m a Sith Lord! I can handle it.”

“It is not wise. You can lead the tactical defense from here, my lord.” Said the man, stopping as they reached the door to the secondary bridge. They entered the cramped (in terms of the regular ESD Bridge) secondary bridge to find the assembled, hardly skeleton crew trying to man the sensor stations.

Poreon saw through a view-screen a bantha load of starfighters. “Launch the Star Destroyer and Immobilizer Taskforces.”

General Sleack felt a tingling fear rise through his spine as he led the thousands of star fighters away from the Super Star Destroyer Unforgiveable Sin, seeing the mighty Sugarcult get only closer...and closer as they pursued the still standing craft. The bridge had very obviously not been completed, but there were still doubts as to what the craft could do...could they fire? Was the super laser ready? Could they move?

He was aboard a missile boat, which was chosen to do the final destruction of the Naboo Sith craft. The young, 32 year old starfighter pilot's eyes peered through the dark lensed helmet toward the HUD, pressing the threat display button quickly. First to come up were the X-Wings...the TIE Defenders' first targets.

"Ok Ghost Riders, break up, plot your trajectories, and take down some Sith," he yelled into his comm link.

"Roger."

"Roger."

"Aye sir."

"Yes sir."

"You got it boss," and other similar calls were sent back through his comlink, and thus the starfighters broke off into several groups, the bomber craft breaking and still heading toward the Sugarcult whilst the TIE Defenders cut off the X-Wings and My'tils, and so on.

Slamming both feet onto his ignition pedals, the slams were initiated, the general sent his missile boat in a ferocious boost directly toward the Eclipse Star Destroyer, completely avoiding the first wave of fighters and support craft, as did his assisting missile boats on his wing.
