I did!!!!!!
It's 3 AM PST here in California and I just walked out of the theater where they played Episode II on half a dozen screens.
If you didn't see the movie and have no intention of knowing anything about it then don't read any further!!!
I'm sure some of you other fanatics saw the movie and I want to know what everyone's favorite part was.
Personally I thought that the movie was moving slow in some parts yet I knew the part where I'd be blown away was just around the corner. I knew I'd walk out of that theater immensely satisfied and let me just say, I was. After half a gallon of Coke and two hours to process it I had to go pretty damn bad. But when Count Dooku, Obi-Wan and Anakin squared off the blood in my Star Wars lovin' veins started to boil. I literally started to twitch with excitement (or half a gallon of Coke might do that to you also). But when Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi fell to the mighty Darth Tyranus and the camera panned to the entryway to show the diminutive Jedi Master standing there in all his green glory I was almost ready to piss myself. And given the choice of pissing myself or watching Yoda go Samurai on his former Padawan... I would have been sitting in a puddle of my own urine. AND LIKING IT!!!!
Overall Episode II was an awesome movie, minus the scene where Yoda busts out his emerald lightsaber and it would have been an average-good movie.
One thing that was cool about Episode II was all of the things that it revealed. Like how Owen Lars is Anakin's step brother. I always wondered how and if Luke was really related to "Uncle" Owen. I even had an inkling that Owen might actually be related to "Old Ben Kenobi". But I was wrong, they were in fact related.
Jango Fett... it would have been cool to have known more about him than just that he's a bad ass bounty hunter worthy of having an entire army of 200,000 clones modeled after him. It was dissapointing that he fell to Mace Windu in the manner that he did yet it was still cool.
Boba Fett... I would have never agreed with anyone in a million years who might suggest that Boba Fett was a clone. Again I was mistaken. The coolest clone of the bunch? Without a doubt but still not the Jaster Mereel I once thought he was.
Qui-Gon Jinn... the apprentice of Count Dooku!?!?! An awesome tidbit that I thought was very cool.
Count Dooku AKA Darth Tyranus...Curved lightsaber? Very cool. Name Tyranus? As in... MAXIMUS TYRANUS!!! Very cool. Yoda's apprentice? PRICELESS! Skills in the force... as good as we've seen in a Star Wars movie... well UNTIL YODA KICKED SOME ASS!!!
Anakin... one word... armless but altogether very cool. Married to Senator Amidala.. will it be a secret? "He has begun" Direct quote from Dooku.. he has begun what? BECOMING DARTH VADER!!!
So much to say, so much sleep to be had... well please everyone post your thoughts on the movie and I'll undoubtedly add more to this once I've had time to sleep and DREAM about Episode II!!!
