Upcoming Games

I've been talking to a few different people about some of the upcoming games, so I thought I'd start a thread and see what people were excited about.

The Force Unleashed - This game looks amazing and the storyline seems really cool, you control Darth Vader's secret apprentice. Check out the trailers and movies for this game if you haven't already, they look amazing. Supposedly, this game utilizes brand new technology which is supposed to make it even more realistic. Glass is supposed to shatter like glass, wood is supposed to splinter like wood, and metal is supposed to dent like metal. Enemies are supposed to react as though they might realistically react, IE if you use Force Push on them they might try and grab onto something nearby, etc. And Death, you scared me when you said this wasn't coming out until later in the year, it looks like it's coming out April 1st, which is awesome (unless it's an early April Fool's joke).

Grand Theft Auto IV - This is probably the game I'm the most excited about. GTA III, Vice City, and San Andreas were all amazing games so of course I have ultra-high expectations for this one. Hopefully they can really take advantage of the next-gen console and blow the other GTA games out of the water.

Halo Wars - This is another game I'm really looking forward to, a RTS set in the Halo Galaxy. The early vids look really good and the game doesn't appear to be coming out until later this year so we'll have to wait for this one. I think it'll be a lot of fun, and I'm sure there'll be a slick multiplayer option as well.

Turok - This game looks pretty cool, I haven't really played any of the Turok games since way back when it was on the N64. But this one looks like it has the potential to be pretty good.

Advance Wars: Days of Ruin - I don't have a DS so I won't be able to play this, but if it's anything like the old Advance Wars games I'm sure it'll be awesome. Advance Wars 2 for the GBA was addictive as hell, and with the DS' touch screen I'm sure it'll only add more options.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Again, another game I won't be playing since I don't own a Wii but I'd expect that this game would be a great game if you had 3 buddies to play with.

Lastly, Gran Turismo 3 - This is probably the only Sony-exclusive that makes me almost wish I PS3. Gran Turismo 3 was probably my favorite realistic racing game ever, not couning old school Mario Kart of course. But GT3 was amazing, and a lot of fun. I wasn't as big a fan of Gran Turismo 4, but Gran Turismo on a next-gen system could definitely be kick ass.

That's all that's on the top of my head for right now, I'm sure there were a bunch of games I left out.

Just looked at some of the newer force unleashed videos and GTA once and god i can't wait for those two games to come out.

Also another game that looks good is Army of Two, which i think comes out on March 4 or 5.

I'll probably end up getting The Force Unleashed for both 350 and Wii, if the Wii lightsabre control is what they're promising.

Fallout 3 holds my keenest attention to date. Here's hoping it's not Oblivion w/Nuked Landscape.

Why both? Why not get it just for the Wii then?

Also, Wrath of the Lich King. I totally forgot about it, though it doesn't even have a release date yet I bet it'll be late '08 or Jan '09 like they did with TBC. I haven't played WoW in forever but I'll definitely get back into it to hit level 80 and get started on my Death Knight!

Well, the Wii isn't going to have their touted physics and destructible environments. I'll have to wait to compare reviews.

Ah, right. The Wii version does sound pretty cool with the duel mode.

Just found out about the newest game with the Tom Clancy label behind it. Tom Clancy's EndWar. With the release date not till September of this year, the game is going to be incredible and a first in the game industry at least as far as I know. The entire game is based on the theoretical world war 3 etc, and you take the role of the commander of an elite battalion for either the Europe Federation, the United States, or of Course Russia. You control the entire battallion throguh over 40 battlefields through the campaign across the north atlantic theater.

Now the really revolutionary thing that caught my attention is the fact that the entire game can be controlled with voice commands from the player. For instance an example the gave was that at the start of the battle you can simply say "All units commence attack at will." The troops will by themselves begin the attack, competently i may add. They will flank use cover and use covering fire all on their own while attacking instead of having to micromanage each of the units on their own. It looks like an awesome game and promises atleast to my taste to be an incredibly awesome game.

Just go to IGN or gamespot and they got some really cool videos or screenshots and some articles so far.
