Oh. Now I get it. So he's like evil-doer 0000000001.

There's a popular misconception that Satan and his minions reside in hell, torturing evil doers. I don't know where it came from, but it's incorrect. Hell is empty right now. After Judgment, those who did not accept Christ will be thrown into hell along with the Devil - Satan isn't fire proof, he will be tortured alongside everyone else.

That would be the catholic church after the fall of the Roman Empire in an attempt to frighten the populace.

They are also responsible for the influence that led to such writings' as Inferno, part one of the Divine Comedy.

Well, if your Catholic, Ghandi is in hell. What does that say about the rest of us?

I was raised Roman Catholic...but I never felt I really belonged in that religion. After I struck out on my own I let my beliefs go and develop as they may, my beliefs evolving as I learn and grow mentally and spiritually.
I am very open minded when it comes to religion...but the one thing that erks me is when members of certain religions come 'banging on your door' and try to 'convert/save' you. I do not believe there is 'one true religion' and that where you go after you leave this life is dependant on your heart and your deeds...not by what faith you follow.
A quote for ye all:

"Show me not your proof that yours is the true god. I grant you your beliefs without question and without judgement, but if you grant me what is in my heart, then such tangible evidence is irrelevant."
-Drizzt Do'Urden (from the book 'Siege of Darkness')

The one in my sig is a good one too.

I dunno. A place of rest is what I have concluded, just waiting for the judgment day.

I am not catholic in any way shape or form and have a very strong hatred for the Church itself as well as its history.

I would rather hate the people that corrupted the religion they supposedly represent. There's little, if anything, wrong with the religion itself, however the problem comes when we humans...mortals as we are...interpet/twist the text to suit their own purposes.

Opp...another quote:

"It is not religion that corrupts man but man that corrupts religion." - Me
