Did anyone see the animatrix? I intend to rent it this weekend. Its' supposed to be a bunch of short stories set in the "Martix Universe".

And I get what the Architect is saying: The Matrix has two levels. The first one is the everyday world, and the second has Xion. The point is, the humans have an illusion of choice. They think they can choose between reality and the Matrix. And those that choose "reality" show themselves to be a threat. None of them know there is indeed a third, or perhaps more levels to the matrix, but they are all the ones who would reject the 2nd level of the matrix for actual reality when given the choice. So, to keep them from becoming a threat, every hundred years a "Chosen one" is made to select people from the 1st stage of the Matrix. once he has done that the second stage is destroyed and a new Xion is created.

At the end of Reloaded, the Architect explains that Neo can either go through one door, choose the people he wants to save, and rebuild Xion, or take the other, which will send him back into the Matrix (stage one). Unlike his predecessor Chosen Ones, he went back into the Matrix, and he also saved Trinity, which the Architect said was impossible.

What proves me right beyond any doubt was that Neo was able to use his powers on the sentinels even when he was supposedly "Out" of the matrix.

That much was obvious even if you didn't manage to catch what the Architect was babbling on about.

Besides, the film is a Hollywood-sized pile of crap.

Granted, there were some nifty visuals and fight scenes . . .but it was all strung together with a senseless plot.

90% of hollywood filmaking sucks, the matrix falls well within the boundries of that.

Goodday to you sir.

The Matrix was an excellent action flick with an engrossing story. Reloaded is a worthy continuation, and I'm hoping Revolutions will top it off with an explosive ending.

Action films rarely have engrossing stories & lots of gunplay and cool CGI.

I think Dolash is right. When I walked away from Reloaded, I was thinking the same thing.
