He wrote "Slaughterhouse Five."

I think it is also a movie, but not sure.

I've never seen the movie
I've only read the book.

Definitely worth a look.

Slapstick, Sirens of Titan, Galapagos, Cat's Cradle, Welcome to the Monkey House (which is short stories). Really anything you can find by him. My local library has a pretty good selection so I usually go there every week and pick something up.

Sirens of Titan is one of the best of the ones I mentioned. It's different because it's one of his first books, and he hadn't developed the writing style he uses in Slapstick and Slaughterhouse-5, so it's not as funny. It definitely has a "first book" feel (even though I'm fairly sure it wasn't his very first) in that he goes after some very big, broad ideas -- it's a statement novel, essentially, a writer trying to make his mark. The difference is that Sirens of Titan is actually really good. Not just in a nihilistic sense either, because Vonnegut actually answers the fundamental questions he asks about life. Which takes balls.
