My buddy stood in line for a wii with the intent of selling it but he says its a lot of fun to play and now he wants to keep it.

Wii is supposedly not going to have the same supply problems as the PS3 (because Sony is retarded and didn't learn from the LAST time this happened, apparently). Tell him to sell this one, double his money, and buy another one in a few weeks...

As of yesterday he said they were only going for like 280

The Wii is basically a heavily updated and improved Gamecube, hardware-wise. It speaks the same languages. Nintendo also gets great yields on all of i's hardware, so almost every chip made goes out the door and into a Wii.

So the yields on the processor are crap, hence a terrible lack of PS3s. This also means that the PS3 is incredibly expensive to make.
