Isn't anyone going to get rid of the porn spam? There is more of it than actual posts now.

I noticed that too. But it seems like it got this bad only in the past few days.

An Admin or mod will clean it up once one of them arrives on the board...or they should, assuming that they aren't lazy...

they've been cleaning it up like crazy and they're also working on a spam filter to put in place...

Youch. It's rather odd, really. I've never seen a board so affected by spam like this one is.

Then again, I've never really visited that many.

I'm just wondering if perhaps TRF was/is advertised on a site that directs all these spambots here.

All of them are Xilen. It's the only answer.

^ :P ^

It's gotta be! LOL

If you try to enable some sort of email verification/activation when accounts are setup, will that help the situation?

I'm planning on updating the board, but I've got work and a wiff and life. I think, in the meantime, we're going to have new accounts go through moderator approval before they will be allowed to post.

I looked at our member list, and we had almost a thousand (!!) spam accounts stuck at "awaiting email confirmation."

Hahah

Hopefully one day it will be possible to filter them out through the basic registration process. I can imagine how much of a pain it might be to have to approve/look over whatever comes through.
