I will be presenting two of the greatest torpedo attacks of WW2, and by greatest, I mean the most damaging.

American - Battle of Suriago Strait

Destroyer USS McDermut
10 torpedoes fired in one salvo - 4 hits
DD Michishio hit by 1 torpedo - crippled
DD Asagumo hit by 1 torpedo - crippled
DD Yamagumo hit by 2 torpedoes - blew up and sank

Japanese - Attack on American Carrier Fleet

Submarine I-19
6 torpedoes fired in one salvo - 5 hits
CV Wasp hit by 3 torpedoes - sunk
BB North Carolina hit by 1 torpedo - damaged
DD O'Brien hit by 1 torpedo - sunk

Feel free to contribute British, French, Russian, German, or Italian Contributions, if any.

Holy shit. Is this for real?

Let's broaden the topic. No pretense.

"Great Mass Executions of WW2"... and beyond.

No- that is just wrong. But we can speak realisitcally about tactically meritorious actions. I simply wanted to know why Taranto and PH were not included.

See now that was just wrong. We were trying to be serious.

You know I can't do the whole "serious" thing. Usually can't manage the whole "respect" thing either.

I'll try and shut it.

PH and Tara were aircraft to ship actions. I'm just doing submarine and ship actions. So what would be the German version? The sinking of Royal Oak, or Ark Royal, or Barham, all by U-boats?

And oh yes, the torpedoes all have to come from the same ship within the same salvo.
