The Hurricane is passing to our west, but we are getting some of the stronger rain squalls. There has been downburst and tornado damage in Wachula, Arcadia, Sarasota, and Brandon. They had an interview with someone in Brandon. Says he heard a loud crash, went outside, and someone's fancy pickup truck, with wheel spinners, fancy paint, and neon lights had it's bed smashed by a fallen tree.

I've stayed up long enough listening to the constant stream of reports. It's now a Category 4 Hurricane with 135 mph winds, and a pressure of 27.67.

Funny you should mention that. My father works for Polk County Emergency Radio, and will be shipping out with a Emergency Response Team to Pensacola sometime Monday we believe. It's a damn shame that we are, but we are used to the routine by now.

Let's hope this one just fizzles out.

Panama City got a pretty good beating. They lost part of their main pier. Really the hurricane has yet to make much of an impact. But they expect it to stall out in the Ohio valley in about two days and just absolutley flood the surronding area. Anywhere from Illinios, Indiana, Kentucky, is expected to recieve 4-10 inches of rain within the next three-four days.

Hmph, now I feel sorry for the meterologist that just brought this new potential threat to our attention:
