A guy at my school ( He was 15 when he did this ) Asked a girl he was "dating" over the internet to marry him. She lived like four states away and they had never met, only talked on the phone. He saved up money, bought like a four hundred dollar engagement ring, send it to her, then she said she didnt want to do it.

But kept the ring, we assume, right? I would have... and then pawned it off.

That's almost as funny as this one guy, it got taped and uploaded to the internet. He's in a mascot suit at a colledge basketball game and he decides to pick that moment to propose. So he takes off the costume, gets down on one knee, pulls out the ring... and the woman takes off crying, shaking her head. It came up on the scoreboard "She said no!" and everyone went apeshit with a mixed display of sorrow and hillarity. I laughed. What a dumbass.
