It's just something else to think about, really. Don't be so negative, old man.

It depends. If it's the Pilot from TIE Fighter Video Game, then yes, the TIE Fighter could trash the X-Wing, the rest of his squadron, then a Corellian Corvette. ;)

And still manage to fly beside Vader, and be sensed as being strong in the Force...

Tie defender VS. X-wing

X-wing when they know about the "blind-spot".

The TIE Interceptor is a better space superiority fighter than the X-wing. It is unshielded, yes, but very fast and agile, and heavily armed. Well piloted, they can desecrate X-wings.

As a multirole ship, though, the X-wing is miles ahead of the Interceptor. Hyperdrive allows it to operate independently of a capital ship, making it an excellent hit and run weapon. Proton torpedoes give it some bite against capital ships. And shields mean your pilots survive longer (in theory).

If you had to live with one fighter of the two, X-wing would be it. It's a lot more versatile than the Interceptor.

Agreed.

Plus, the X-Wing gets a neato lil' Astromech to keep you company in the long hours. Comic relief counts for alot, even in combat.

And the resale value on an X-Wing has to be a touch more affectionate then that of the Interceptor. But who knows, you could find a collector...
