I have a picture I created in Paint for the various uniforms of the Empire. I should like to post it but the file is too large. How do I post it so that all may see???

Host the image, and then add it into a post as a image - ala [img*]Image URL[/img*] (remove the *'s).

If the pictures themselves are too large because of detail, you might change the format to JPG or JPEG. You'll lose some of the finer details probably, but it won't look terrible.

Otherwise, You could try downsizing the pictures too...

Download it to a service like Photobucket.com or something. Sign up for an account, after you've saved the picture to your hard drive upload it to whatever service you're using, such as Photobucket. Then, do what Vance said.

Nay, it's much easier. Go to imageshack.us and host it that way. Unless you already have a photobucket.com account, and then you can use that. Otherwise, I'd be happy to host it for you on mine, simply send me the picture via email and I could put it up at my photobucket account and post it here. Otherwise, use photobucket.com (requires account) or imageshack.us (doesn't) and either simply post a link or use the bbcode like this:
