Virtus-class Strike Cruiser
The Virtus was, and still is, the Andozian military capital class vessel of choice. The Andozian Republic was not able to produce vessels up to the size of a star destroyer so easily, and while 500 meters is not exactly an amazing feat of military strength in our galaxy, it certainly was back in the Andozian's.
Still, upon evaluation of this galaxy and its vessels, the Andozians have discovered that the Virtus does indeed have a home and purpose as a strike cruiser, and a very effective one. While they rely upon the Hapan and Solarisian capital ships for the larger, thousand meter plus vessels, the Andozians are more than happy to provide the service of the Virtus.
However, while the Virtus Strike Cruiser may look like a standard cruiser, appearances can be deceiving. The Virtus, like the Excalibur, has a trick up its sleeve wholly unique to the galaxy as we know it. In key places around the ship's hull, it possesses booster rockets. These rockets, while they can only be used for a few seconds at a time, nevertheless allow the Virtus to propel itself at speeds wholly unnatural for a vessel of its size in a certain direction. Just enough time to avoid perhaps a volley that would otherwise doom it.
The Virtus Strike Cruiser, being once the ship of the line for the Andozian navy, is armed to the teeth with weaponry. Nearly all of its old systems have been replaced by new technology that we view as the standard in our galaxy. And some technology has been added to it, such as both particle and deflector shields befitting a vessel of its size. The vessel, which was once capable of travelling through wormholes, has had that technology stripped from it and has replaced it with hyperdrive capability.
But perhaps the most useful part about this ship, other than its use as a highly effective cruiser, is its compliment of one Excalibur squadron. Apart from some special cases in Solarisian capital vessels, the Virtus Strike Cruiser is the only vessel to carry a definite compliment of these very deadly starfighters.
The Virtus Strike Cruiser is the heart of the Andozian military...and all that is left.
