Reprocussions (Closed, Rogue Squadron)

Commander Trevelan had chosen the Imperial-Class Star Destroyer War's Beauty as the flagship for the elite Rogue Squadron, and with thus the ship had not once let the squadron down. Resting himself in the pilot's lounge, he watched the holonet, seeing the report of a potential Rogue Imperial-New Alliance War brewing all over again. Will it never end?

A hand resting on the glass at his side, he lifted the small alcoholic beverage to his lips and guzzled it down quickly. A jizz tune hummed in the background, originally recorded by a Bith band of Clak'Dor VII.

He turned his head to see two more pilots of Rogue Squadron enter.

Atalya Pelyan walks slowly into the lounge, sighsing softly as she enters. Her head is hung low, her eyes, though pointed at teh floor, seem to be looking at something a million miles away. Her beret and uniform hang on and about her body lazily an unprofessionally, as if donned without a care in the world for protocol or etiquette.

Atalya walks to a seat far from her commander's and sits down. She knows that he is in the room, but cannot raise her eyes to meet his, or to even look at his face. The young piot feels overwhelming shame for her actions in her quarters, her commander undoubetdly knowing why she had discharged her blaster into her own chest.

Atalya leans backwards, making sure not to lift her head in teh slightest. she winces slightly, her chest still giving her a bit of pain, though it would soon subside. Atalya keeps ehr eyes pointed at the floor, unspeaking, showing no signs of emotion or feeling of any kind.

First mission... again.

Raven sighed, entering the lounge, recalling her first mission when still a padawan. That time, she had nearly been killed.

If it weren't for a Twi'lek rushing in at the last moment, she would've been.

Now she was a part of a squadron, and she couldn't help but feeling uneasy. She didn't do so well in the simulator the first time, but, she had been working on it, and shown some improvement. Hopefully, it was enough.

Passing by the seat that Taly was sitting in, she noticed that the pilot was still upset at what she had done, to the point that was emotionally shut down.

That wasn't good for a pilot.

Raven patted her shoulder, to see her reluctantly look up, seeing a blank look, and Raven gave her a reasuring smile, and a nod, before continuing on.

Her own hair was not in it's typical loop/ponytail, instead, it was braided, and the entire braid was wound around her head like her own Aunt Leia had done in the past.

It was a pretty good idea to keep one's own hair out of the way. Not being able to see would be a disadvantage to the pilot, perhaps a fatal mistake.

Approaching the Commander, she noticed he had drained the contents of his glass, and she guessed that it was not water.

Out of habbit, she picked up the glass, and moved it to another table, so that he wouldn't knock it off the surface it was previously on.

"I don't suppose you've noticed, but it appears that we both need to keep an eye on Taly. She seems emotionally shut down still. It might effect her in flight, and that's what's bothering me." Raven murmured, making sure her voice didn't carry to the other side of the room to the pilot in question.

Daren ran one of his hands through his hair as he looked at the two of his other eleven in his squadron. The commander then turned a guilty gaze on Atalya.

"Taly...what's wrong? Please tell me?" he asked. She had been keeping to herself ever since Raven joined the squadron, and she had yet to tell him why.

Glancing over to Taly once the question was asked, and she recalled those brief flickers of emotion that she had detected, right when the pilot was being taken to the infirmiry at the time.

Sadness, a couple of others, and, more prodominately, jellousy.

The latter caught most of her attention, and wondered why, though she had a feeling that that later was the trigger for the rest, and was only part of the answer to the question which Darren was looking for.

And, that the rest of the answer was rather personal.

At the moment, Raven didn't know wether or not to sit, or to remain standing.

There had to be a reason for all this.

Atalya squeezes her eyes shut tightly as Daren asks his question of her. She bites down on her lower lip, unbelieving that Daren could possibly still not know how she feels about him, and why she had tried to end her life. She then lowers her head, placing her face into the palms of her hands, sadness beginning to overwhelm her like a tsunami of emotion.

"How could you still not know?" Atalya whispers, unknowing if her commander or Raven can hear her words or not.

"It doesn't matter anymore. I don't matter. I'm worthless. I can't even fly straight anymore. I don't deserve to be a part of your squadron."

Atalya then lowers her voice to a whisper once again

" I...I thought I was more than just your wingman. You...you should have let me die."

Daren was still confused. One day he was flying with her happily, joking with her, and laughing with her about times long past, and now she was on the verge of suicide, having even tried once.

"Taly...what are you talking abou-..."

Then it hit him like a speeder crashing into a duracrete wall. She had seen his emotion for Raven...his infatuation for her.

An eye trailed across the room toward her, and then back to Atalya.

"Taly...we're good friends, we always have been...I...I don't know what to say, I don't want you to die..."

Atalya sobs softly, a tear rolling out from between her palms and her face. She curls her fingers in slightly, digging her fingernails into her forehead harshly, trying to break the skin, to cause herself pain. The skin beneath her nails begins to become bright red, Atalya about to tear through the thin flesh.

"I...I can't go on like this...Commander."

Atalya lowers her voice yet again, still unsure whether or not Daren and Raven can hear her when she does so.

"I have nothing left to live for. Why did you save me, just so I could suffer?"

"Taly, don't talk like that, you were fine before I met you," Daren too had to bite back his own tears.

Another tear drips onto the floor below Atalya's hugn head, the young pilot's body shivering slightly with a wave of chilling emotion. She bites her lip and sits back up once more, her eyes red and swollen. She wipes away her tears with her sleeves, her bloodshot eyes making sure not to look at Daren or Raven. She stands up slowly, her knees shaking as she does so, and begins to walk to the door of the lounge.

"Before...before I met you..."

Atalya then sobs once more, almsot falling over as she does so. She shuts her eyes and chokes out her next words through her tears.

"Before I met you...I did not love you."

Atalya then attempts to quicken her pace, having yet to decide whether to go to her quaters, to the fighter bay, or perhaps Raven or Daren would stop her first.
