As the war with Israel and Lebanon continues, I feel it best to delve into the thoughts of my mind to address the problems that are involved with the United Kingdom and the Middle East.

Firstly, the problem that the British government is having to deal with is the problem with terrorists. The prejudice is that all Muslims are terrorists and all those from the Middle East sympathise and support the minority of the Muslim view.

I do not doubt that some are terrorists, we know this for a fact. We have dealt with problems such as 9/11, which was a devastating blow to the United States after such a sudden decision to tackle war. Then, months later, the United Kingdom has the smaller version of an attack, namely 7/7.

This, in relation to the connections with the Middle East, sparked an overly drastic attack against the Taliban forces, which has been implied with partial success. The problem with such an offensive movement is that those who did not sympathise with the Muslim terrorists have changed their opinion, thus an increase in terrorist attacks is imminent.

Secondly, there has a been a great increase in the number of immigrants that have travelled to the United Kingdom in search of safety. The main problem with such an increase is that often, the immigrants have travelled illegally and have no such right to be in the country under British law.

I personally believe that the immigrants have came to the United Kingdom in search of safety, not in search of war. The view that the rise in immigrants is the cause of the rise in terrorism is unjust and blatantly unfair.

The rise in terrorism is due to the fact that there is an increase in war, the Iraq war which is still continuing, the fight against Taliban forces, which started before the terrorist attacks and the search for total dominance.

There is a great deal of problems which are underlying in the reasons for an increase in terrorism and I have stated only a few but this increase in terrorism has greatly decreased the democratic and economical relations between the U.K and the Middle East.

This is because the Middle East has had to suffer with the major effects of war, and has sympathised with terrorists because of this. It is also because there are many countries that do not fight against terrorism, instead they venture to the Middle East in search of riches and power through oil.

That is the reason why the U.K has a decreasing relation with the Middle East. It is not because of the war on terrorism, but because of the powerful and greedy who search for riches and power in the land which is not their own.

Here's an ironic story:

In the 1990's the leader of Hezbolah fled Iran and took asylum in England. From there he personally commanded some major terrorist attacks, not just in the middle-east, but in the world. Just before the Israel-Lebannon war, he flew to Lebannon to hire terrorists to steal the Israeli soldiers. But as soon as the war started he fled back to England. When he got there, he was instantly recognised by an eagle-eyed passport checker. I don't know what happened after, but either he's in British jail or he was flown back to Lebannon.

Terrorist attacks failed.

The British secret services are doing a great job. Many attacks have been foiled in the past year. But the Terrorists are getting closer and closer to succeeding, so the question remains, are we safe?

With the British Empire restored and resurgent, safe no, but powerful and able to respond as only His Majesty's soldiers can.

Without, instead the paltry symbol of former glory extent - safe - far from it.
