After EP III

What would you like to see Lucasarts put out, after EP III is done? I, personally, am hoping for Zahn's Heir to the Empire done in a non-bastardized manner, with a mature and adult theme. Dark, brutal, like battle in space is. Trash the kiddie stuff, let's get something good here.

On his 60 Minutes interview, ol' George said that EP III would clamp-off the Star Wars series - the films, anyway. He actually addressed the question by remarking on his own career though, perhaps leaving space for another director to come in. It could be imagined.

He's looking to become an unknown art-film director. "I've earned enough to fail for the rest of my life," or a statement along those lines.

Maybe it's possible to sneak past the copyrights. Otherwise, I hope I haven't been commenting on a hypothetical question all along.

I heard that EP III would be the last film as well, so I suppose this is a bit hypothetical.

Though, the fanfiml community could do something. Maybe. After looking at things like Lots of Robots, I think it could be done.

I seem to recall Lucas also mentioning at one point he was going to totally clamp down on the rights and restrict anyone from making another "Star Wars" movie. Shame, too, since someone else could do an awesome job of it.

A shame.

Since there so many more stories one could make , that are set in the universe which don't have to interfere in any way shape or form to his original 'opera'.

I doubt there will be a movie, but there have been rumors about a possible televsion show. With today's effects it could be achieved pretty easily but I think even that is a big what if.

Personally? I'd be most pleased if he just threw the rights out there, or bequothed them to some worthy representative to deal with future scriptwriters. Admittedly, there is a risk of someone making a totally crappy film with the rights and hurting the franchise, but it'd be better then nothing.

Plus, he's already made two really crappy films...

The Thrawn Series would be good, maybe half of that and half the DarkSaber series. Then after that The Hand of Thrawn Series, maybe for just one movie or two, and then the NJO Series. Actually I think NJO series would be best as a combination movie/television show.
