My finale thread

I have been thinking - I have just a day under one month until I depart and I am looking for a thread to do that will end this cahpter of my TRF career with a bang. And, while flipping channels at the fire-station, I had an idea:

The movie Titanic bastardized into a Star Wars theme.

My idea:

A massive intergalactic luxury liner is going round the Rim on its tri-yearly voyage. It has three classes aboard: one for those who are dignitaries, fabulously wealthy, etc. Second will be for your above-average citizens, those who have saved up for few years or have good but not fabulous jobs. And third - those who are normal to poor. Their conditions would be third rate but are along for the ride to seek out new jobs, new homes, etc.

The ship would be a literal neutral zone as commanded by the company: it is a private ship owned by a neutral power and has no allegiance but to perfection. As such it has been home to Imperials and Rebels, Jedi and Sith, pirate and law enforcement officer all at the same time.

It would be an arena in which we could interact with each other and also plot and plan and such and evade the ship's well trained security details. I know I had planned to have the story take place some years ago with Desaria as a Rear Admiral in the Imperial Navy and at his side his former lover who in the course of the story falls for a young Coalition Lieutenant-Commander. Things are only made worse when the ship falls prey to a pirate attack and is slowly consumed by fire, the suppression systems deactivated by the pirates. Desaria's lover after the attack flees him for the Coalition officer who is willing to resign and devote himself - something the Baron cannot do. He then chases them around the ship firing widly with his pistol until he sees they are truly in love - at this time the pirates return, he is called to the bridge and assumes command. He defeats the pirates but is severly wounded in the process and on his death-bed wishes them both the best of luck.

*Desaria is subsequently cast into an escape pod and left for dead, though the Star Destroyer that arrives rescues him*

What think you?

Of course. It is several things: a luxury liner, a transport, a hotel, a berth for the weary traveler. It will depart Eriadu and make its way round the Rim, circumventing Hutt Space, running across the front of BDE, and winding up in the Corporate Sector. It will fly by beautiful gaseous anomolies, space creature habitats - everything one expects on a cruiser.

This could come greatly in handy. I mentioned in one of the Coalitions forums that I'm going to be making a character for my Steda account who's going to be a member of the Coalition but different to Kerld.

I'd be more than willing to steal your partner and then have my new character as something away from the Coalition in the end.

Y! telandesaria

All - the thread will begin tonight.

ALSO - FYI - as a mental image for the liner in question, we will be using the one that was pictured in the Fifth Element, replete with the saem layout and trimmings and massive promenade-style observation vistas. Mix between modern cruise-ships and the luxury liners of olde - Titanic, Olympic, Lusitania, et al
