The flashing emblem of Leviathan Corporate Industries, accompanied by the Trade Federation Logo slowly fade out into a simple news studio, where, behind a large desk sits Gwatch Runecourt. He takes a sip of a cool beverage, and then starts his news briefing.

"Tonights headline. The Trade Federation is at it again with there all too generous ways. This is LCNN, and I'm your host, Gwatch Runecourt. Earlier this evening, leaks from the Trade Federation's internal affairs department confirmed that there was in fact a project under development at the current moment in downtown Darlaxia City."

The Camera's Angle shifted slightly, and Rune turned his head to follow it, as a picture appeared next to his head. The picture was that of a speederbike, under which a caption reads: 'Speederbike Race?'

"After closely watching this story over the past few hours, it has become official that the Trade Federation will be hosting a Speederbike Race in Downtown Darlaxia City in exactly one week. Now, I know a great many of you out there are probably skeptical about why anyone would want to join this relativly dangerous race. To answer that question, I've invited Sarah Majestic, a Trade Federation Economic Public Affairs Correspondant to join us."

The Camera changes it's view to a Twi'Lek woman of about twenty five. She smiles, and extends a blueish purple tinted hand toward Runecourt. He accepted it, shaking it with his firm grip before starting his questions.

"Sarah, thank you for joining us."

"The pleasure is all mine, Mr. Runecourt."

"Thank you. Now, as you may have been informed, or I certainly hope you have, there will be a speederbike race in downtown Darlaxia City. Am I correct?"

Gwatch folded a paper, and cast it aside as he looked down at another one while the woman spoke.

"That is correct, Mr. Runecourt. Over the past month, the Trade Federation has been planning this sort of Celebration, if you will. The main event of that celebration will be the Speederbike Race. There will be garnishes from all sorts of Planets, all you can eat foods, and drinks. It's going to be a great party."

Gwatch nodded his head and began to speak.

"It sounds like it will be, Miss Majestic. Tell me, what are the dangers of this race, and risks that contestants might be taking."

"Well.." she began. "This race is no different than the pod races held in the Hutt system, only they are much more closely monitored, and relativly safer. There are always dangers, and always a risk of death, of course, but I feel that the prizes will remove any doubt from anyone's mind. There is also the risk of criminals, and drifters competing in this race. Though I am trying not to be stereotypical, we all know that things on the track can get a little ugly."

"Yes, I'm sure they can, Miss Majestic. Tell me, what exactly will the Trade Federation be giving away as prizes."

"Well, it's funny that you should mention that, Mr. Runecourt. The prizes are almost more than I can handle, because they cost more than I make in a years time. If we could just flash these pictures on the screen as I speak..."

As she spoke, one picture at a time flashed across the screen as she spoke.

"The fourth runner up will recieve a Maccrow Freighter, retail value estimated to be 24,000 Credits. The Third Runner Up, will recievea YT-1300 Freighter, estimated retail value at 45,000 Credits. The Second Runner Up, will recieve a YT-2400 Freighter, estimated retail value at 50,000 Credits. The First Runner Up will get a CR-90 Corellian Corvette, estimated value at 75,000 Credits. And, for the grand Finale, the Grand Prize Winner will Recieve his own personal Imperator Class Star Destroyer, estimated value at over 250,000 Credits. All Contestants that finish the race, however, will recieve there own X-Wing. The cost of admission into the race is 1,000 Credits per registered biker."

The room went silent for a moment, and Sarah tried to catch her breath.

"That's...." Runecourt started, an obviously shocked look smeared across his face. "That's quite amazing, Miss Majestic. Thank you for joining us today."

"Well there you have it folks. The Speederbike race of the century. I'm Gwatch Runecourt, signing off."

(Out of Character Notes: Each of these ships is actually build, and thus, not NPC. Speederbikes competing in the racedo not have to be officially made, and can be NPC. As for the Credits, They are NPC. The ISD does not come with a fighter compliment. I would like to note that this Role Play will take place ont he Trade Federation Board, under this link: The City of Darlaxia. There you will find that the Role Play has already started. Simply jump in, and play along. I ask that everyone play this game fairly. Everyone gets a prize, no matter what place they come in. Play it realisticly, or be disqualified. This is ment to be for fun, which is why everyone will be offered a prize. Just try and have fun, and don't make it into a big mess. Thanks!)

The Actual Role Play for this starts in One Week: Friday, September 27th.

Why is a Blockade Runner only worth 25 000 credits over a flimsy Corellian freighter?

Yeesh...

I just made them up. Thre actual race takes place in a week's time, but pre-race role playing is under way. I'm starting construction of the ships.

Would you like the actual estimated values of those ships, just to get things right? I'd be more than happy to provide them for you.

Just because I feel like it...

X-wing: 200,000(new) 180,000 (used)

YT-1300: 100,000 (factory settings)

YT-2400: 130,000 (factory settings)

ISD II: 145,670,000 (estimated value, not normally for sale)

I don't have the lists for the others in this book, sorry.

As the Trade Federation Viceroy, I would like to OOCLY stress that Pre-Race posts are highly smiled upon, rather than just appearing on the starting line on Friday.

Alright, as many of you probably know, the actual Speederbike Race will begin tomorrow, Friday September 27th.

Quite a few of you have already posted pre-race posts, signing up etc. Well, I'm making this requirement. All members that will be racing in the race need to post some form of pre-race post before the Speederbikes start lining up at the starting line. This means that you probably have a maximum of 34 Hours to do this. Anyone that doesn't post a pre-race post will not be participating in the race, unless they have a damn good excuse why they didn't. I need to know who is competeing, so I know how many prizes I've got to give away.

So, in other words, if you're racing, make a post about your arrival, or whatever or don't race. It's that simple. At least ten people have IMed me saying "I'll be there..." Well, I hate to break this to you people, but this is an In Character event, and OOC comments aren't going to save you, unless it's a family emergency.
